Kintail, unser liebevoll renoviertes Ferienhaus, liegt im malerischen Dorf Balintore, Easter Ross. Das Kintail liegt im Zentrum dieses Dorfes in den Highlands und bietet einen Panoramablick auf den Moray Firth. Das Cottage wurde kürzlich renoviert und hat seinen ursprünglichen Charme beibehalten. Es bietet moderne Einrichtungen und ein echtes schottisches Hochland. Ein ausgezeichneter Ort zum Entspannen, während Sie die Highlands erkunden. Das charmante Dorf Pub und Inn sind nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt. Die Unterkunft ist auf zwei Etagen. Draußen gibt es einen großen hinteren Garten auf 2 Ebenen, mit Rasen und Grillplatz und ein gemütliches Sommerhaus unter den Bäumen versteckt.

Excellent Seaboard Cottage

Staying at Kintail Cottage was fantastic and just what we needed. The cottage is on a busy road but if you look beyond this it is in a smashing location for exploring towards Kings Cave in one direction and Rockfield...and onwards to Tarbet Ness lighthouse. David, the owner, came to make sure that we okay and if we needed anything. Nothing was required except to say a huge thank you for a home baked banana bread!! Really nice and comfortable stay!

Very comfortable living room seating and the view is amazing

Very nice! Since there were no pics of the living room I wondered if we would be comfy. There were 2 reclining couches and a recliner chair so we were all very comfortable. The bathroom is downstairs and bedrooms are upstairs . The kitchen was huge and a great place to have coffee and plan our day. This cottage is in a great location to do the NC 500 but I recommend staying a couple nights at least on the road.

Fantastic property in a great location

The property was well loved by its owners, everything you could possibly need was there. A real home feeling when you walked through the door, stunning location, well kept gardens, it was quite sad when the time came to leave. Nice cottage in front of ocean

House fully equipped and nice greeting from Christel. The beds are extremely confortable and everything is clean. Kitchen FULLY equipped, even made BBQ! Would recommend for sure! Felt almost like home...

Kintail Cottage

I took my elderly parents for a wee week break and the cottage was excellent wirh everything needed and importantly foe parents comfy, clean beds. The local Balintore Inn served lovely food and everyday we took off in the car and seen so many things that are not too far away. We were welcomed with homemade Banana Loaf and chocolates. No issues at all very pleasant stay

Home from home

The photographs of this little cottage just don't do it justice. It's beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished with every possible convenience. Perfectly located with the most amazing sea views from every room...stunning! The garden is a little sun trap and just around the corner is a kovely, friendly pub that serves amazing food...we can't wait to return! We wish we could have brought our little dog as she would have loved the nearby beach. A truly memorable week, thank you Christel!

Another fantastic stay at Kintail

We absolutely love it at this cottage it is in a perfect location for so many interesting visits. The cottage has everything that you need for a stay of however long you like. It is spotlessly clean, the furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is lovely & open & has all the kitchen equipment & more. The beds are comfy & the bedding is lovely. Chtistel is your host along with her husband David they are the friendliest people & have lots of knowledge of local areas. Balintore is a smallish village, has a good pub, great little Spar shop & an absolutely massive clean proper holiday beach. We WILL be back. xx

Wonderful cottage and location

This is the third time we have stayed at one of Christel's properties and the second in Kintail. It is right opposite the sea so has wonderful views from the picture windows. The cottage is spacious, cosy and very well equipped with all you would need for your stay, and some extra touches from Christel (and her daughter who baked a great banana cake) to make you feel welcome. The garden has several areas where you can sit to watch and hear the wildlife or to eat al fresco. The area has beautiful walks on the doorstep. We returned home refreshed and we'll doubtless return before long. James and Valerie

Home away from home

Christel came and greeted us shortly after arrival and made us feel so welcome. The views of the ocean were amazing, and we settled in quite nicely. It was a comfy place to relax and kick back after a busy day of sightseeing and had everything we needed. Enjoyed our evening walks along the beach. Met Mike, the owner of the Balintore Inn, on our last night when we went for dinner. We were invited to join him and a few more locals to sit around the bar and spent the remainder of the evening enjoying a few glasses of wine while chatting with them. Good thing it was only a 2-3 minute walk back to the house! These are the memories that will last a lifetime.

Disappointed in downstairs toilet facility while bedrooms were upstairs. Toilet ceased to work on last night of our stay and nobody could be contacted. Infestation of wood lice at back door. Oven and microwave had not been cleaned. Cottage located on busy noisy, main village road which was disturbing esp early morning. Very spacious rooms with modern kitchen with all mod cons. Friendly welcome when we arrived with milk and bread left for us.

Pretty Village by the Moray Firth

We stayed in a loverly cottage in the tremendous little village of Balintore for five nights. The owner Christel meet us at the property and was most cheery and helpful. The house was extremely tidy and well presented. Two bedrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen and sunroom. Plenty bigger enough for my wife and I. It had everything that we needed. We where only two hundred yards from two pubs in the village. We called in to the Balintore pub most evenings and found the owner and the locals extremely friendly. The house was across the road from the Firth. Great views. We found the location a great place to do day trips to Tain, Dornoch, Ullapool etc. if we where ever back in this tremendous area of Scotland, I am sure we would rent this property again. Die Lage der Ferienwohnung war sehr gut gelegen. Guten Blick aufs Meer.

Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, bei Ankunft hatten wir einen Kuchen auf dem Tisch stehen der war sehr lecker. Man konnte um die Ecke gehen, da war das Balintore Inn mit sehr leckeren Speisen und eine Einkaufsmöglichkeit gab es auch. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns richtig wohlgefühlt. Wir kommen wieder.

Zu Gast bei Christel Johnstone

Born in the Central Belt of Scotland I spent many years overseas. In 1992 I left the Falkland Islands and brought my 3 daughters to this Highland village. The plan was to spend a few years here and introduce the girls gently to the BIG world. It didn't take long for us to decide that we would settle right here.. Balintore is a charming place to live. Even when "busy" the beach is not crowded, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Although some might think we are isolated, we are less than an hour from Inverness Airport.. and the rest of the world.
In 2006 I married local lad David and together, over the years, we've watched our 5 children grow, spread their wings, and settle around the world... But we all still call Balintore HOME..

David inherited Kintail and has wonderful memories of times spent there. After much thought we decided to renovate it and offer it as a Holiday Cottage for rent. After the success of our first cottage, 8 1/2 John Street, I'm looking forward to meeting many more new guests.

Centrally located in the picturesque village of Balintore, Easter Ross, Kintail Cottage is a lovingly renovated cottage offering 2 bedroom luxury holiday accommodation. The cottage is situated in the centre of the village just over the road from the shores of the Moray Firth, just minutes from the beach, harbour and open countryside. The newly renovated cottage offers the character of a traditional cottage with all the convenience and luxury of contemporary fittings and design. There is full central heating, a modern kitchen/diner, flat screen TV and WiFi. After spending a day at the beach or exploring the surrounding countryside take an evening stroll to the local Inn for your nightcap and a chat before settling down in the cosy sitting room for a snooze.
You can take advantage of our long summer days and enjoy the peaceful back garden. The garden is set on 2 level, the lower offering seating and barbecue area, while the upper area provides a large green with a cosy summerhouse tucked under the trees.
Kintail is an ideal location to unwind or exploring the Highlands.
