This house is a dream! It's so versatile, I can see it being a romantic honeymoon escape but it was home to my family of 6 (we have a 10yo, 7yo, & 2yo twins) for 12 days this summer.
The practically private beach is perfect for all ages, the waves break on the reef so there isn't worry of large waves/strong currents. Plus tons of shells & coral for decorating sand castles, beautiful reef fish for snorkeling, fun kayak rides, beach chairs for sunning, boogie boarding, watching big sea turtles swimming up to shore, sand crabs for chasing. Bring beach shoes for tender feet, some rocky areas & sea urchins better navigated with them, but those are available at Long's down the road if you forget. My kids loved taking warm showers on the patio after the beach, they are used to cold hoses so this was such a luxury.
There is a large BEAUTIFULLY maintained yard overlooking the ocean, well gated from the road & naturally fenced from the ocean by thick foliage. My kids safely ran & played for hours, exploring for geckos & giant garden snails. I loved that they were outside & not on their iPads! We collected exotic flowers along the back road that were covering the ground for making our own flower crowns & lei's.
We watched amazing sunsets & rainbows, took sunrise & night walks, watched the stars in the clear night skies. Even when it rained, the house & porch are such a comfortable place to hang out. The house is beautifully decorated & such a smart layout. We loved escaping the sun on the covered porch & patio. Don't worry about no AC, the breeze & dunks in the ocean will keep you feeling perfect. This house has EVERYTHING you need. The kitchen is great for making big meals. Jill & Nicole were so sweet & helped us get settled in & oriented & even helped on trash day.
The location is removed from overcrowded touristy areas so you really can relax. We stayed on the island in other locations following our stay & wished we stayed here the entire trip because it's an easy drive to hiking locations, Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Plantation, Kualoa Ranch, Byodo-In Temple, Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Aquarium & so much more! Day trips to Haleiwa for shaved ice, acai bowls, meals, groceries, shopping are quick & easy down the road. And while in town, pick up a bottle of sangria for mom & dad so when the kids go to bed you can listen to the rustle of the coconut trees & waves on the balcony. Thank you for an amazing vacay rental!
