Lovely cabin but be aware

We only slept here at night. We knew there was no air conditioning so we had a fan (and the cabin had one), but be prepared that the cabin is designed to hold heat in. As a result it was always at least 10 degrees warmer inside, even with every window open and all fans running. For us that meant it ranged from 82 to 100 degrees while we there. It’s a lovely cabin, very clean and well stocked, also very secluded if you are looking for that.

Amazing Log Cabin in the woods!

This place is wonderful! So private and so clean and comfortable. The decor is tastefully done throughout… It is well-stocked and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Would definitely stay again.

Exceeded expectations!

We had such a wonderfully relaxing time! The cabin was so peaceful and had everything we needed to enjoy our time there! As with most places in the UP, be prepared for no a/c & bring a box fan to put in the window to bring in the cool night air. We did and were perfectly comfy! We like to cook breakfast & supper where we stay and the cabin had plenty of utensils, dishes, etc. It was very clean. The furniture and bed were nice and comfy! The recliners were perfect for an afternoon nap! ;) If you’re looking for seclusion & peace, this is the place for you!

Quiet getaway

Beautiful, peaceful stay

We had such a good time! We actually didn't get to do everything we wanted to do and we'll probably have to go back! The setting was really peaceful and quiet and the host is easy to contact and helpful. We really have no complaints, would love to stay again! Especially that its pet friendly, our dog had a lot of fun too. *it's remote, plan accordingly if you need specialty grocery items (gluten free, etc.) The stores are pretty essentials-only but we made it work.

Everything we wanted in a get-away.

It was an incredible location with serenity and beauty to boot. The cabin is nestled into a great wooded location free from hearing neighbors slamming car doors and listening to any unwanted neighborhood sounds. We absolutely loved the inside of the cabin. It was cozy, warm, and a rustic/modern feel. Rustic because of the log cabin look, but modern because of the amenities. It was also nice to find a quality dog friendly place. Bristal and Bullitt loved being surrounded by woods and slept comfortably in front of warm fireplace. It was a truly great experience all the way around. A great place to stay, centrally located to a myriad of great attractions (so many great waterfalls), great restaurants, really good communication with the manager of the property. Overall, an A+ experience.

Solitude

This was our third time visiting. In the last couple of years we’ve enjoyed three seasons, Spring, Fall, and now Winter. The kitchen is well appointed with all the kitchen tools needed to cook nice meals. The fireplace is one of my favorite things, as well as the solitude. If you want to eat out, we have found that the “Cut River Inn” on “2” about 38 minutes away will server you the best ribeye steak dinner you can find anywhere!!!

Perfect cabin getaway

We loved everything about the cabin. Clean, well equipped with everything needed. We spent one whole day relaxing inside by the fireplace watching movies. We were thankful for a place that allows pets as well.

A great spot to stay if you like...

QUIET, PEACE, SERENITY and a great yard for a pit fire - we had a great time. The location was stupendous for going to Manistique/Lake Michigan, Rapid River (Knife shop is NOT to be missed if you want to see what an artist does with deer antlers and wood! Germfask, as small as it is, offers up BENNY BEARD FISTED FISHING TROLL - new in 2023, this completely made of wood troll is a work of a Denmark artist and 10 of his assistants - IT IS AMAZING WHAT ONE CAN DO WITH ALL TYPES OF WOOD! We went to Newberry in need of a pharmacy -forgot to take one of my prescription meds with me - Synders Pharmacy was very accomodating and the cabin was close enough, we were able to then go on up to Grand Marais and onto the beach of Lake Superior - did some STONING (no - not drug-related) We learned a lot about gem stones, and the famous GLOW-ROCKS - we even found a rock shop of sorts where two brothers do Glow Rock Stoning for sales. They taught us what we'd need to do our own Stoning, but we were to leave the next morning and it has to be done at night. We had trouble getting a movie to play - but a call to the property manager gave us all we needed to get Thursday night movie night underway WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!
