Wohnung mit Charme und Stil

Eine sehr liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung. Hebt sich durch die Backsteinwand und das schöne alte Interieur vom Allerlei der Fewos ab. Mit Blick auf die Stadtmauer. Haben Stühle auf die Gasse gestellt und unseren Wein getrunken.

Kleines Ferienhaus in der Altstadt von Obidos

Das Ferienhaus befindet sich innerhalb der Altstadt von Obidos. Es war weitestgehend sauber. Das kleine Haus hat eigentlich ein sehr gutes Potential, d. h. die Räume, Ausstattung, sanitäre Einrichtungen sind für einen Urlaub von wenigen Tagen ausreichend. Allerdings fanden sich in fast allen Schränken und Schubladen Sachen, die anscheinend dem Vermieter gehören oder von Vormietern vergessen wurden. So ist es kaum möglich Sachen für 2 Personen für einen längeren Aufenthalt ordentlich unterzubringen. Man lebt quasi mehr aus dem Koffer. Das Haus ist mit Liebe und sehr vielem Accessoires ausgestattet worden. Aber auch hier wäre weniger mehr. Leider gibt zu dem lichtarmen Haus (auch wenn die Fensterläden geöffnet sind) keinen Balkon, oder eine Terrasse oder einen kleinen Garten, so dass einem nichts anderes übrig bleibt, als die Mahlzeiten im Haus einzunehmen, was bei schönem Wetter sehr bedauerlich ist. Im Sommer gibt es wie überall auch in Obidos sehr viel Fliegen. Die ausgehängten Fliegenfänger mit Klebefilm erfüllen ihren Zweck nur unzureichend. Fliegengitter vor den Fenstern wären wünschenswert, sonst ist man genervt und ständig auf Fliegenjagd.Beachten sollte man auf jeden Fall, wenn man mit einem Fahrzeug anreist, dass die Parkmöglichkeiten direkt am Haus und innerhalb der Altstadt sehr eingeschränkt und viele Parkplätze nicht unentgeltlich sind.

Perfect location in a charming town

We stayed in this well equipped and clean appartment a week in autumn 2015. The appartment is stuffed with lovely details like a fire place and is nice decorated. The nature stone walls and the wooden furniture are as stylish as cozy. All in all this accommodation is highly recommended!

Obidos for 3 days

Óbidos was fantastic. The rental was fantastic and so was the location. Surrounded by restaurants. We loved Jamon Jamon and the Litterary Man. We had problems opening the door to the rental. It was not functionning. Had a hard time reaching out to the owner. After 2 hrs the owner sent a lady to help us open the door. There is a trick to open the door. It is a truly wonderful place to stay in Óbidos. I highly recommend it. :)

Lovely little historic house in perfect location

This little house, snuggled inside the walls of the old city is a real delight. The kitchen is well appointed, bed is super comfortable, and everyone associated with the booking and check-in were very helpful. Location is excellent.

Awesome old place in a really old city!

This is an amazing little house in a cool old walled city. They’ve done a great job giving you some of the amenities from the present, while also preserving much of the past the house. If you happen to visit in the winter keep in mind this is a very old home and you’re gonna wanna bring some cosy clothing and slippers. Host was generous and responsive. Would stay again but would rather visit again when it’s warmer lol

Mostly Good

The apartment was lovely - a traditional house with rock walls and exposed timber roof inside the old city walls. Our only complaint was the access, as guest cars are not allowed inside the city walls. We parked at the car park and faced a 10-15 minute walk over VERY uneven rock streets and steep grades dragging our suitcases. Check in was easy and the owner was very responsive.

Great location inside the walls!

Great location and communication with Paula was very good! The accommodations were perfect for my family of four and there are two bathrooms which is a plus. The bed is very comfortable which is important for me. We were even provided with a starter kit of bread, fruit and milk which was a nice touch. Highly recommend the charming property if you are checking out Óbidos! Some have noted parking was an issue but it was no problem for us - although we did park outside of the walls.

The Charming House Obidos is Beautiful!

The Charming House Obidos is a wonderful little house. It is fully modernized with a loft bedroom and bath above and a cozy living room and kitchen below. Our hosts made sure it was well stocked with snacks and breakfast supplies. The town of Obidos is the most beautiful of all the very beautiful towns we visited in Portugal. Don’t miss it! The Charming House is in a quiet corner of the village next to the ancient wall. Can’t say enough great things about this property!

So much better than I ever imagined. This cute little house within the walled city is amazing.

First off I want to say how amazing the city of Óbidos is. This is far better than a hotel. This is an entire private house and it's within the city walls. Looking out the window you have a view of the old wall that surrounds the city. The house definitely has an old world feel but with all modern amenities you'd hope for. There are 2 bathrooms also which was very nice. The bed upstairs was very very comfortable. There is extra linen and pillows. Our son slept on the couch downstairs and they arranged a crib for our baby as well. Very accommodating. There was a washer/dryer combo which came in handy for us. This house is situated right next to one of the wall entrances which turned out to be extremely convinient for us to come and go with a car. Parking is a bit of a challenge but definitely not terrible. After unloading our bags right at the front door we went and parked outside the wall. We found a lucky parking spot that was only 50 meters from the house. There is more parking up the street which is probably 200 meters. I could go on about how wonderful this place is. So much positive to say about it. I also want to thank our hosts for arranging to stay late for us to arrive at 10pm. The only constructive feedback I have to help improve things for future renters. 1. Finding the place was difficult and I consider myself pretty good with directions and I'm fluent in Portuguese. So for me to have difficulties I can only assume others will (I also read someone else's feedback about this same thing). Let me try to help. The entrance into the city through a small "hole in the wall" is big enough for a car even though it may not appear to be. There is a "do not enter" sign but it does specify (in Portuguese) "except local residents" . You can enter there to reach the house and unload. Note that it is very tight and if you're a bad driver you'll probably scratch your doors. If you're not comfortable on tight roads then do not go into the city. Also note that per the map we were sent for check in I drove around several times looking for the house from the pic before I realized we were supposed to park and walk into the city to the house. Only after did I realize we could drive to the front door (the streets do get crowded so gotta be quick). 2. The water heater is small. We had about 8 minutes of hot water. Stagger your showers and plan accordingly. As a lover of warm showers I was disappointed. Despite these things I would 100% rent again here.

Just an amazing place and experience. Picturesque and idealistic in all aspects. The place, the town, the area are all perfect. The only suggestion we have is a more detailed description of check in! It is hard to find your way if you have a car- lots of narrow roads and tunnels to pass through to get inside the castle walls and too the Airbnb. Just a better heads up/description on the listing. Other than that, would definitely come back again!

Wonderful Obidos Castle!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay inside the Obidos Castle walls. The house is very appointed and Paula, the owner, very attentive. The village is quiet, quaint and very relaxing. We travelled to area golf courses by taxi and marvelled at the friendly service and quality of it all! Our stay was very memorable, thank you so much! The only improvement would be an upgrade to a new flat screen TV and perhaps a better cable or dish.

Great location and character

We spent 2 nights in this very comfortable rental. Parking was easy and close. The entire town is an easy walk and fun to discover. Excellent restaurants just outside of the town walls less than 2 minutes away. The owner made arrival easy. I would highly recommend.

Charming well equipped cottage

Charming home just inside the city wall. Well equipped kitchen. Coffee, tea, small milk containers, individual butter pats,a little fresh fruit and bread. It was so easy to be there and have everything for a light breakfast. Living dining kitchen and 1/2 bath on first floor. Bedroom and full bath upstairs. I enjoyed my stay in Óbidos and was happy to be on a quiet street
