The Park Avenue community, or Uptown as it is known to locals, is a hip and historic, friendly, diverse, revitalizing, medium-density, residential neighborhood adjacent to downtown/bathhouse row with a mixed-use central corridor of locally owned and operated small businesses, mid-century motor courts and a couple of late 19th century mansions. Densely canopied side streets with more modest craftsman, cottage and bungalow homes lead up to the national park lands at the edge of the Ouachita mountains that surround the area.
You are likely to see deer, raccoons, squirrels, wild birds and a well-fed groundhog or two.

Or, follow the architectural tour included in the house welcome book to see great examples of Art Moderne, Victorian, mid-century and other National Register worthy styles throughout the neighborhood.
