Frustrated

Scott was quick to respond, but failed to follow up each time. Internet wasn't working when we got back late evening our first night, so I waited to email the issue in the morning. Quick response to my email at 7:50am saying he will check with provider to fix issue. I had to reach out again at 4:50pm because I haven't heard from Scott.Again quick response saying that he would reach back and get an update.That was the last I heard from Scott. So internet/TV didn't work day of our arrival Jul 14th until day of departure July 17th; it finally worked when I tried when packing up to leave. Very frustrating paying this much money for no tv and internet and no follow up email from host. Couple other things: 1) Picture of living room is not the same AT ALL. Has a different couch and different chairs. 2) Clump of black hair and crumbs on floor by couch (have pic if needed) 3)No extra blanket for the people sleeping on the couch; had to go buy one 4) Pillows for the couch didn't have pillow cases; only had pillow protectors on them 5) Zero parking which I knew, recommendations were wrong 6) The women's place (cant remember name) that is recommended to pay and park do NOT allow this anymore 6) The Park/recreations area recommended also does not have over night parking; have to move your car between the hrs of 2-4am No refund was offered and I believe it should be, specially with no tv/internet!!! Not Happy

Overpriced cinderblock dorm room

If you want to be near the ocean but don’t mind feeling gouged and putting up with a less than average, small, one bedroom and noisy apartment, then this is for you. When we arrived, the windows were open, the unit was invaded by gnats that were everywhere. They stayed until the day we left. Second, the area was noisy, and we watched police handcuff and take away a few drunks over the 4 nights we stayed. Third, the bathroom was small, and the fan was very noisy. To make matters worse, the fan was covered with dust and dirt making it basically useless. The shower stall was small, but at least we got hot water. Fourth, the bedroom was cinderblock and not the cleanest. On the plus side, the mattress was firm, but the pillows were uncomfortable. Fifth, there were screens on only a few windows. One of them was behind the couch. Difficult to open the windows on a nice day for fear of getting swamped by gnats again. Sixth, the volume on the tv didn’t work half the time and you had to unplug and plug it back in so it could reset. It is clear that the host bought the building as an investment and turned it into three rentable units, but it appears he did the minimum amount of renovations so he could gouge the renters. With all the great places to stay at Mission Beach, I would recommend finding another VRBO that you don’t feel taken advantage of. P.S. watch out for the host’s cancellation policy. Basically, there isn't one.

Great spot, but wait until they replace heating unit

I’d absolutely stay here again but not until the host replaces the AC/heating unit Pros: - Incredible location - Tons of windows/light - Responsive host - A [slight] view of the ocean - New appliances Cons: - The apartment was in the 50’s for all but a 4-hour window in the afternoons because the heating source was knowingly broken (that’s downright cold when you aren’t in the sun or moving around so I spent my 3-night trip bundled up). On Day 2, I realized that the host had left a space heater in the bedroom closet. She promptly dropped off 2 more after a quick chat. But this was far from ideal especially since the electrical circuits couldn’t handle more than one. How do I know this? Upon plugging in the 2nd heater, one circuit went down because it took out an outlet, which meant that I couldn’t use bedroom, bathroom, or living room lights/outlets until the handyman could do his thing (I couldn’t simply reset the breaker). - I couldn’t range from the apartment on my final day since I had to wait for the handyman to repair the electrical issue (~4 hours from the time of reporting it to the time that things started working again). I tried to make good use of the time by working during this period, but the power had to be cut several times so was stuck with my spotty cell signal for internet connectivity, which made for a lost day overall

New favorite in Pacific Beach

Steps from ocean. Market for snacks/booze/etc steps away. Unit was quiet. A/C worked great in main living area. Worked great in bedroom by turning on a supplied fan at night in doorway. Professionally decorated. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Huge fan of this unit! Highly recommend! Will stay again for sure!

Great, clean, and convenient property. Only two downsides is the parking issue( we got lucky the second night and found overnight parking at Santa Clara Place) and there is only AC in living room and not bedroom. If we didn't have a baby the AC thing wouldn't have been a big deal, just felt like the info should say living room AC only. It was a great location!!

Perfect Quick Getaway

The property was extremely easy to access and was in the perfect location. Right next to the beach and walking distance from restaurants while being a close uber to pacific beach. The place was very clean and perfect for a small group to enjoy my birthday!

Great location

Perfect spot for Mission beach activities. Steps from the beach and a very short walk to the bay. Easy walking distance to food/drink/water sports/etc. Very clean. Fu spot. Would absolutely stay here again. Only drawback is that it can be loud on the strandway on the weekends (lots of partying).

Loud and disruptive

I was called in the middle of the night. With a demanding text I check my message and get back to the owners. Rules said no parties allowed and will be kicked out. Well that did not happen. Owner calling me a 1 am in the am after I finally got to sleep. Then they call and I can’t go back to sleep. They’re ere not removed and we had to deal with parties and being blamed for the parties. I did not get parking I was there longer than any of the other tenants and I paid more and did not get a garage parking When I tired to contact owner took forever for them to respond they were in Australia. Not there for immediate assistance for renters. Coffee pot is the hardest thing to work they should buy a new one. Condo description says sleeps four. No way that couch in the living room can not sleep two adults. I had to buy a blow up mattress. Only one tiny frying pan can’t even make a dinner. We had food we could not cook. I mean one the smallest pan that’s all there was to cook. We had to make bacon in a pot THE BLANKETS ARE ISED AND REUSED AND NOT WASHED. ALL THE BLANKETS UNDER THE BED . THEY WERE NOT CLEANED. It is disgusting not to wash all those blankets. There are a few in there not just one or two. I would not recommend, owners were very late to respond. Falsely accused me of having a party. I slept horrible the entire time. Linens not cleaned properly. Maid is not there ling enough to complete one wash cycle much less all needed to have clean linens. I would pass this listing and move on....

Cute place steps from the beach

The listing was accurate and the property was clean. Parking was terrible but we knew there wouldn’t be parking ahead of time. When I got to Mission Beach, I called the owner to see if she had any tips for me and she gave some helpful recommendations on where and when to park. The parking in Mission Beach is scarce but the owner helped with some hidden places! Would love to visit again!

I think the pictures of the garage were misleading, you can’t park in the garage. Picture shows 4 four bikes, have access to only 2 and they were in poor shape. Nothing on the floors! Not even bath mat.

This property is in an amazing part of Mission Beach just steps to the sand and two blocks to Mission Bay. We are just feet from the boardwalk with miles and miles of bike tracks on the beach and the bay.
The apartment is really gorgeous and stylish great for short or long stays.
