Lissadell on the Beach.. Exclusive Holiday Rental on the Lissadell Estate
Lissadell on the Beach... Exclusive Holiday Rental on the Lissadell Estate, Sligo, Ireland.
The former Estate Manager’s House situated within the Lissadell Estate on the Seashore, fronting the restored Alpine Walled Garden, with Lissadell House behind,
has been been exquisitely refurbished, presenting exclusive rental accommodation reminiscent of the halcyon times of the Gore-Booth family in its heyday.
The 2800sq feet property has been restored with the finest materials.
The floors and staircase are hand limed oak. Each room boasts carefully chosen Farrow and Ball heritage paint or William Morris wallpaper.
Specially commissioned Art Deco Celtic design stained glass windows in every door.
Restored sash windows with oak shutters are framed by William Morris handmade drapes.Rooms feature individually sourced Art Deco fireplaces.
The house and its furnishings have been specially designed to make the most of the spectacular Ocean and Garden views from each window.
The Accommodation comprises:
The Titanic Kitchen:
This is the kitchen for the Connoisseur.
The specially commissioned Lacanche Range, made to order and shipped from Burgundy, the Donegal pietra marble worktops, combined with state of the art kitchen appliances from Smeg and Miele, will delight even the most discerning chefs.
The kitchen is completed by Portmeirion, Beleek, Royal Doulton and Waterford Crystal tableware.
The nautical theme pays tribute to the Titantic using timbers from the Harland&Wolff shipyard, ART, and his and hers Belfast sinks
looking out over the Alpine garden, beside a wonderfully upholstered window seat, perfect for supervising the chef.
The Byzantium Suite:
This large open plan Living Room is the heart of the house.
The dining table stands in the centre of the room flanked by Art Deco fireplaces(wood burning) at each end.
Each and every beautifully designed sash window(with porcelain handled shutters and William Morris drapes) has unmatched views of the magnificently restored Lissadell Alpine Garden, or the Atlantic Ocean.
There is a welcoming seat at every window.
Here, truly, you “shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow”.
The room is furnished with tailor made comfortable designer sofas and chairs, intermingled with 19th and 20th century Irish Art and furniture from the Lissadell Collection.
The Yeats Room:
This beautiful Cinder Rose room with views to the Atlantic lets you get away from it all.
It contains the owners' favourite Irish oils and watercolors, including a watercolor by Ereneice Gore Booth of Lough Inagh in Connemara.
You can nurse your brandy and soda, listening to the crash of the Atlantic waves, with your feet at the fire.
Or you can peruse the art galleries of the world,or images of Lissadell, or simply flick on To Netflix etc on our state of the art Samsung the frame 4K UHD TV.
Downstairs Shower Room:
Shower, WC, Wash hand Basin.
The Reverie:
This room is at the top of the stairs and has to be seen to be believed.
The wallpaper, blinds, cushions and rug are William Morris.
The focal point is the window looking over the sea: two wing armchairs snugly placed beside an inviting table. Why would anyone move from this enchanted room?
