Our stay in Truckee

When we got there, the maids were not finished and we were supposed to be in at 4 o’clock. We eventually got in at 4:30. They said they were sorry but the place was a mess from the people before us. Also, the next morning they were paving the road we had to get the cars And my daughters car got cement on her tires and we had to be out of the driveway for 24 hours a little bit of a pain we had to park our car down the street

luxury stay

perfect family vacation home, lots of amenities and rooms/beds. Very comfortable to stay for the entire stay. I would definitely come back.

Great place to stay

The place was great. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was that the shower is clogged and the floors are very creaky. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

disappointing property

The property was not very clean by any standard. The carpet was absolutely filthy with stains everywhere. there was no soap, body wash shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom dispensers. Fortunately, there was some pump soap at the bathroom sinks.There were lights that were burned out in the entry to the porch as well as in the upstairs master bathroom.

About the home: First of all the photos make it look like a stand alone home but it’s a townhome. Second many of the photos (including main living area and dining room) must be old as the furniture has been changed to things less nice- needs updating. Second there isn’t enough seating space in living room for that many people- sofa is rather small and only two small side chairs. The home is a full time rental and feels like it- things are worn down, and many showers are leaking, dishwasher barely works, etc. we had to call multiple times to get the shower to work (it was stripped in master) and it wasn’t until the 3rd time it was fixed. And they cleaned the filter of the dishwasher but it still doesn’t clean well and the air gap is very noisy and leaks a lot. The code for the front door was wrong at check in. All that said, the management company was very responsive with each request- it just feels like the owner needs to make some upgrades to the house. The house does sleep a ton of people which is good. The sheets are low quality polyester and the pillows are not comfortable. For the cost of this house I expected many of these things to be better or at least to be correctly advertised. Overall on location :While we love staying in Schaffers mill (the Sawyer restaurant are great and community is friendly) you can’t use any amenities. The location is not great if you are skiing anywhere else besides Northstar, but it’s really close to Truckee.

Beautiful house!

We stayed here with a group for a concert in Tahoe. The house was so beautiful, it had everything I needed to cook or bbq. Two master bedrooms and 7 beds. The bunk beds are full size beds. Everyone loved the house and we had a great time. Would love to stay again!

Very good experience overall. Large home perfect for families, great setting & location, beautiful & quiet neighborhood, plenty of amenities and entertainment options. Nice House Beautiful location

House was nice and in a beautiful gated community. Alot of room to accommodate 9 of us. Clean house with all the amenities. A/C was a nice surprise. Advertised 3 king beds, but it was 2 and a queen, that was a disappointment for sure, as we usually select our houses according to the bed sizes. Seating in the living room was only for 4 people, not enough for any more to be in there at one time. Other than that great place to stay. I would go back!

Comfortable for a bigger group

This was our 2nd year renting this property. It’s cute & clean and is in a great location. We have 3 college age daughters and they always bring friends. It comfortably accommodated everyone. We will book again :)

Great House, Nice Location

Great house with lots of beds and nice living area. Right by the truckee airport and close to downtown truckee. Communication was good and check in/out was a breeze. Loved the little gift bag we found on arrival!

Maple stay

Property was beautiful but you could tell it’s used as a rental. I think half the blinds in the house were broken so you couldn’t open them. Wi-Fi worked but not the greatest speed. The kitchen is huge but very minimal utensils to get by. “Bowls pans” and the only seasoning thats in the kitchen is salt and pepper lol If asked to stay here again I would. You can’t beat the location and neighbor hood where the house is located at!

Great home for a family getaway

The property description and pictures are accurate and if anything when arriving, it was even better than expected. The open floor plan and large kitchen made being together cozy and comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious. The outdoor dining area was lovely to have meals outside. Because one of us was working during the trip, it would have been nice to have a desk in any of the bedrooms or open space upstairs. Also the TV is quite high on the wall that you have to angle your neck on the sofa or you are better off watching TV from the dining table. Aside from that, the home is wonderful and the location inside Schaffer's Mill is ideal.

Great location and perfect for large family

Our family consisted of three adult couples and a toddler. The layout is perfect with plenty of room. The kitchen was excellent for multiple people to be cooking at the same time and not to mention it was well stocked. We really enjoyed the fire pit and back patio.

Attention to detail great home away from home

This is the third time we stayed in Schafers mill. The Maple is the best experience we’ve had due to the extra care of the owner/AvantStay We were welcomed with hot cocoa and Baileys and a spotless home. There was a tie out for our dog and the kitchen was well stocked. The hoteling service for linens and bath was luxury quality. We enjoyed sledding and the fire after being on the slopes. The Sawyer is another great perk of staying here; they have great food (including take out), Hopefully indoor dining will be open soon.
