Montegiove ist ein schönes und friedliches Land mittelalterlichen Dorf, in der Nähe der wichtigsten Kommunikationslinien und gleich weit entfernt von Rom (154 km) und Florenz (151 km), ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung der historischen Schätze der Region Umbrien und der Toskana, wie Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto, Perugia und Siena.

Die Wohnung ist mit Sat-TV, High-Speed-Internetverbindung, Heizung, Waschmaschine und Wäscheständer ausgestattet. Das Haus ist im traditionellen Stil eines zentralen italienischen Herrenhaus mit einer geschmackvollen Kombination aus antiken und modernen Möbeln eingerichtet.

Im Mietpreis enthalten sind Heizung, wöchentlicher Wechsel der Bettwäsche und Handtücher, normale Endreinigung und Kurtaxe.

Das Schloss von Montegiove ist seit Anfang des 12. Jahrhunderts existierte und hat in den letzten vier Jahrhunderten das Eigentum der Marchesi Misciattelli.

Heute immer noch in Familienbesitz, ist es das Zentrum von einem Landgut die nahezu 3000 Hektar großen, wunderschönen Landschaft Umbriens, wo Eichenwäldern, Weinbergen, Olivenfelder und Ackerland Mischung in völliger Harmonie mit alten Trockenmauern und Bauernhäuser aus Naturstein gebaut.

Die wichtigsten Produkte des Anwesens sind Wein, Olivenöl, Getreide, Ölsamen, Chianina Rinder, Futter und Forstprodukte. Es gibt viele wild lebende Tiere wie Wildschweine und Rehe, und die lokale Flora einschließlich Trüffeln und Pilzen.

Während Ihres Aufenthalts in Montegiove haben Sie die Gelegenheit, der private Gast der Familie Misciattelli zu werden und eine Führung im Weinkeller, auf dem Schloss und dem umliegenden Anwesen zu bekommen.

Incredibly special experience, a real gem!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rikke and Lorenzo take you back in time as you explore the Castello and the surrounding area. It is a true Italian experience that allows you to relax and enjoy authentic Italy. We have traveled through Italy many times, but we have fallen in love with Umbria now thanks to this lovely family and place.

A lovely apartment in a beautiful, scenic location.

La Cassetta is a small, but attractive apartment in a lovely, rural part of Umbria. Although the kitchen area is small, it is well equipped. Everything is newly decorated to a high standard and very clean. The apartment is located right next to the owners' castle and only a short, pleasant stroll to a fantastic infinity pool. The hosts, Lorenzo and Rikke, were excellent, treating us more like house guests than customers. Complementary wine and a few essentials made a lovely start to our time there. We would definitely recommend this and hope to return before long.

Magic setting

This comfortable apartment is newly renovated and has everything one could hope for. Classy, understated Danish influenced decor. Good bed! The hosts are wonderful, warm, bright people and we were given a gracious tour of the castle, its fascinating history, and a superb bottle of its wine. Be sure to stop when getting off the highway to shop for any food you need in Fabro COOP.flat has good coffee, milk and juice, a nice and thoughtful gift. Good small market in Montegabbione as well. Don't miss dinner at gatto giallo restaurant/agriturismo in Montegabbione. In summary: this is a fabulous VRBO and we would return there in a heartbeat and stay longer.

Very nice stay

This apartment is lovely. The kitchen has everything you will need, the bathroom is fresh and well appointed. The bed is a little creaky but very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed the castle tour and wine tasting. The whole apartment was very clean and a cot and high chair was provided for our 2 year old. We felt that the apartment was safe for our toddler. The WIFI was very good considering where this place is. The pool is very nice, it is almost a 10 minute walk away but this really didn't bother us at all as its a lovely walk around the castle with fabulous views. We were allowed to stay an extra night without any fuss and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. A beautiful, interesting and comfortable place to stay. We would highly recommend. Thank you very much Rikke and Lorenzo.

In 2002 we moved from Copenhagen in Denmark, where we both grew up, to Montegiove to take over the daily management of the family estate “Castello di Montegiove”. We have never regretted this decision, even though the first years in Montegiove were not at all like a fairytale. The castle had to be completely restored; the roofs all had big holes so we spent all rainy days running around with pots and pans to pick up the water. Today the castle has been through a thorough and respectful renovation. Lorenzo: I spent almost all my childhood summers together with my grandfather in Montegiove, following daily life at the estate and in the wine cellar. I still recall adventuring round in the castle and walks in the splendid and unspoiled nature around Montegiove. I always hoped, that one day, I could take care of the estate, and that happened after years of study at the “Royal Veterinarian and Agricultural University” and the “University of Aberdeen” ending up with a Ph.D. and a short carrier as scientist and assistant professor, before moving to Italy. Rikke: I worked with pattern making and designs in the fashion industry before moving to Italy. My big passion is decorating and putting things in order so moving to a place like this where everything needed a loving hand has been a fantastic challenge for me. Today I am the practical person in the household making all ends meet for our busy modern family. We still feel so lucky waking up in the morning and looking out at the beautiful valley, and we are never getting tired of the absolute silence and peace that is so rare to find in the modern world of today. Sometimes the clouds are hanging lower than Montegiove and it feels like we are on an island in the middle of the sea.
