New Glarus

When I booked this trip, my wife and I were just coming back from Europe and looking for a quiet place with a hot tub to adjust back to the time change. I have never stayed in a place where the owners also occupied the same residence, but after showing my wife the view from the backyard we both decided to take a chance and we are so glad we did. The apartment is downstairs with its own entrance, it was very clean and updated with a Keurig coffee maker and a mini fridge with water and other drinks. Best of all Joe, the host made us feel very welcome and comfortable, he had information and spot on recommendations for places to eat and things to do. He even provided us with camp chairs to enjoy the live music at the local winery (definitely try the pizza from their pizza oven). We fell in love with this little Swiss town, it was clean, people were friendly and there was so much to see and do that we spent most of our time walking around. The food was fantastic everywhere we ate and the shops were wonderful to explore. In the evening we enjoyed the pool and hot tub and view of the sunset behind the rolling hills. All in all we had a wonderful time and plan to go back again.

Beautiful yard with a view

We loved the beautiful outdoor space with the pool and hot tub! The apartment was comfortable and very clean and stocked with drinks! We had a great stay!

Fabulous accommodation an apartment within a residence: all the comforts of Home!

Recommend two food establishments: Fat Cats food coffee and breakfast, Kristi’s for lunch and dinner both five star. We stayed at The Apartment Hosted by Joe and Kim. An apartment within a home . Accommodations were outstanding!

Great place to relax, with great hosts.

Many great things about this place, but the hosts are on the top of the list. Great communication, very accommodating, and they went over and above to make our stay and visit to New Glarus a good one. Place was clean, plenty of towels, and fridge was stocked with several beverages. Additionally hosts had firewood for an outdoor fire pit, a pool and a hot tub available for use. Would definitely recommend.

Everything was Amazing!!

The location was beautiful. Sitting in the hot tub at night with the views over New Glarus was simply gorgeous! The hot tub was exactly what we needed. Joe was an excellent host. We didn't meet Kim. However, I believe she has to be just as great! They supplied the fridge with New Glarus favorites. An excellent touch! The room was comfy and the house is close to everything! A must stay if in the area!! Thank you for everything Kim and Joe!!

Our 1st VRBO Experience

Very nice property and exactly as described. The fridge was filled with a lot of New Glarus favorites which was an added bonus to staying at this property. Gorgeous backyard views with a comfortable outdoor space.

Amazing best kept secret

Kim and Joe are fantastic hosts with the biggest hearts!!! We just love them! Everything is so incredibly cozy, they have thought of all the extras (stocking drinks in mini fridge, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.) The basement is so clean, the view is beautiful, and we couldn't be more grateful! The bed is also so comfortable. This is a great home away from home. If you ever are trying to decide, book here, it's a 5 star in an excellent location! New Glarus is so fun and it's not far from Madison! So much to do !

Clean & Comfortable!

Very nice for a weekend get-away! We really enjoyed the quiet countryside and beautiful view from our patio. The extra touches that Joe provided, such as firewood & locally made beer made our trip really special.

Gorgeous spot, very close to downtown

Peaceful Country Location

Wow! Perfect choice!

We really just needed a convenient "base" to stay close to the bike trail and the folks we were going to visit. We had planned to go on a long bike ride after dropping our stuff at the rental, but the pool and the whole setting was so inviting that we nixed the bike ride and stayed at the property instead enjoying the pool and the beautiful views and surroundings! Kim and Joe were wonderful hosts! They were available and responsive, but also gave us complete privacy. They were over-the-top generous sharing their home, even providing a stocked fridge of beverages at no extra charge The indoors and outdoors are even better than the pictures show! Thank you Kim and Joe!!

Just what we needed

My husband and I had a great weekend away at Kim and Joe's place! It was just what we needed. They were not home when we arrived, but Stella (the dog) showed us the way to the back basement area where we would be staying. Kim and Joe were always super available if we had any questions and also gave us suggestions of things to do around town. We would love to come back next time and use the pool and hot tub! We highly recommend staying here amd can't wait to come back!

Cozy, relaxing, and great hosts

My wife and I spend a weekend at Kim and Joe’s place. We had a blast. Just what we needed for a getaway. Communication was great, they were really open about what to expect, and they were on top of our stay with whatever we needed. Still they gave us a lot of privacy to enjoy the place. We will consider staying here again! Just one piece of advice. Don’t forget to bring a sweater even during summer. It can get cold sometimes.

A Great Get-Away

A mere two hours outside of Chicago and we left the hustle and bustle behind for a lovely oasis with a beautiful vista of the green valleys of New Glarus. Our hosts welcomed us and showed us our accommodations. From the outdoor patio with table and chairs and a comfortable sitting space into our beautifully decorated home for the weekend. A large living room with a comfy couch, easy chair and large screen TV open into the coffee bar and generously stocked fridge. (Thanks for the Spotted Cow, Joe!) The large bathroom with walk-in shower is next to this with soft towels for showering and towels for the pool. The bedroom is large and the bed is soft and comfy. The real jewel is the pool! We spent most of our time there either in the water or on the deck. The space is beautiful with flower beds and flower pots. You really feel relaxed and on vacation. New Glarus's downtown is just down the road. You can visit the brewery, and the shops in town. Kennedy's Ice Cream shoppe is a must! There is a Historical Swiss Village to visit, which hopefully we will visit next time. And there will be a next time. Even if you don't leave to go into town, you will feel rejuvenated by staying at Green County.
