i've studied product design and ended up in architecture and real estate development. this is my first hospitality project, something that i've been dreaming of doing for a long time. the three apartments in the house all have different aspects, materials, details, furniture and features but the underlying minimalist approach is coherently the same. some innovative ideas were implemented and reflect my product design centered approach to architecture - a Japanese bathroom inspired shower with soaking tub and a view into a private garden, pivoting stone slabs in the sinks to make cleaning easier, a 360 degree swiveling tv that is integrated into the couch table, tvs that pivot forward to make it easy to connect external devices, power supplies under the dining tables and single curtain tracks with two types of curtains - one translucent, one black-out - that slide back and forth. in addition, i've chosen to furnish the apartments with unique furniture and products - the modern couches turn into guest beds, wall-hung toilets that have a duravit sensowash high-tech toilet seat that is heated, sprays water and opens and closes by remote control, as well as numerous other design-oriented high quality and selective choices that will make any guest dread the day of checking out…
