The advert was highly misleading. The buildig shown in the main photograph was a well-known character house elsewhere in Aix, not the building in which the apartment was located. The advert also descibed the property as a 1-bedroom apartment, but there was not really a separate bedroom; the separate room was a windowlesss cupboard, and a king-sized bed occupied most of the space in what was supposed to be the living area.
There was no door between the kitchen and bathroom (a door frame with hinges, but no door).
The fitting for the adjustable part of the shower was broken, so the choice was between the fixed overhead shower or a hand-held attachment.
The kitchen had so little equipment that it was uusable (no kettle, no toaster, no teapot, minimal crockery and cutlery).
Apart from the bed, the main living area contained no furniture apart from a small table and two dining chairs.
The instructions for getting into the apartment were not sent until the day of our arrival, after we had started travelling.
