This was the ideal place from which to explore the Dordogne region. Plus it’s really good to be in Sarlat within easy walking distance to the market and restaurants. The apartment was clean and plenty big for the two of us, and the bed was comfortable. We chose the inside bedroom and it was very quiet. The kitchen was well enough outfitted, tho we bought a spatula and some ice cube trays to round out the utensils. The coffee maker is extremely slow—over 1/2 hour for an 8 cup pot. It should be cleaned or replaçed. They have a Nespresso type machine, but I didn’t see any pods.
Three cautions: parking is at least a 7 minute walk, maybe longer during crowded periods, with short-term parking quite close for dropping off luggage ; you need to walk up 2 flights of stairs; and there’s no air conditioning. They have 3 good fans, and we were fine in average warm temperatures (low to mid 80s Fahrenheit).
We never met the owners—they just sent us information on parking and how to get into the apartment. Fortunately, due to prior experience, we were able to figure out the laundry situation, but we would have appreciated if someone had been there to show us around.
