R & R River Retreat ist ein wunderschönes 3 Schlafzimmer, 3 Bäder, dreistöckiges Blockhaus direkt am Coosawattee River und bietet: Kamin, Satellitenfernsehen, Whirlpool, Sauna, Feuerstelle, Billardtisch, abgeschirmte Veranda, Rehfutter, WIFI und Innensauna. Als eine der haustierfreundlichen Eigenschaften von Sliding Rock Cabin fallen keine Gebühren für Haustiere an.
Das Erdgeschoss verfügt über 2 Schlafzimmer, 1 Bad. 1 Schlafzimmer hat ein Kingsize-Bett und Sat-TV, und das andere hat ein Queensize-Schlafzimmer mit DVD-Player, der Blu-Ray und WIFI-kompatibel ist (kein Kabel).
Die Master Suite im Obergeschoss verfügt über ein Pillow-Top-Kingsize-Bett, einen Fernseher mit Satellitenempfang, ein Bad und eine private Veranda mit Keurig-Kaffeemaschine.
Die Terrasse Ebene hat das dritte Badezimmer, ein Spielzimmer mit Billardtisch und einen Fernseher mit DVD-Player, der Blu-Ray und WIFI kompatibel ist.

The cabin was well appointed with all the little things that make staying with a dog easy. Clean and comfy. Once beyond the resort gate, the roads are narrow, paved until the very last few tenths of a mile. It was windy yet easy to get to from the directions provided, but we were not comfortable driving in the dark. We cooked at the cabin and had everything we need.

I was greeted by the deer and enjoyed hand feeding them throughout the week. I bought a big bag of deer corn at the local Walmart to last a whole week. The fenced in area was nice for my bassets. The walk down to the river was not bad and I had a campfire one night. You just have to keep your eye out for the deer trying to steal your marshmallows, crackers and chocolate off the picnic table while you’re sitting around the fire. I did not use any of the river resorts amenities or the sauna in the cabin, so I can’t comment on those things. I enjoyed the local food, especially Ellijay’s little Italian street food. Plenty of hiking options. I chose the Mount LeConte in Tennessee which was 2 hours away but well worth it. (10 mile hike round trip). The Engelheim Vineyards was a great place for tasting and although tubing wasn’t convenient at the cabin, I found blue ridge tubing to be spectacular. Only inconvenience about the cabin was no broom/mop/swiffer sweeper to be found. It would have been nice to sweep up the floor during the week especially my own dogs hair.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We kicked off our summer with a stay at R&R River Retreat. It was wonderful! The house is clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was large with everything you needed to cook, you just bring your ingredients. The large kitchen table gave us room for sit around and visit after meals. We lived on the porches. The screens protect you from bugs and we just enjoyed the comfortable furniture and the sounds of nature and the river. We explored Elijay and Blue Ridge and enjoyed the restaurants and shopping as well as the outoors. We sat by the river at night and enjoyed a campfire. We had a great time and look forward to returning some day.

Nice cabin, not remote

Cabin was nice and clean. Not remote at all, there is a busy campground across the River from the cabin that was very loud and you have neighbors on both sides. The cabin had everything we needed for a four day stay and was comfortable. Despite the noise we had a very nice time.

The yard for my 4 dogs of all sizes was perfect and secure. The owner's attention to detail for the renter was superb. Labels on the light switches, etc. Deer were all over and fun to watch. Inside the cabin was cozy, clean and fun (games in the finished basement). Outside the cabin was so relaxing and we enjoyed marshmallows at the fire pit. We so much enjoyed our stay! Thank you for this wonderful experience -- again!

The cabin was beautiful with all the comforts of home. The sauna, hot tub, and pool table were put to good use. We had fires in the fire pit (we brought our own wood) by the river and it was so relaxing. Would come back in a heart beat! The roads are narrow and at times sharp or steep turns to get to the cabin. We used our 4 wheel drive to go up the drive. It was an excellent adventure! Very pet friendly with fenced in area, pet bed, food bowls, sheets and towels for our dog.

Perfect Retreat with Nature

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A trip to the GA Mountains through Sliding Rock Cabins has become an annual family event for us and this year didn’t disappoint! This lovely cabin on the Coosawattee River was the perfect location to relax and unwind. We started each day with breakfast on the porch listening to the river, watching birds, and waiting for the local deer families to stop by for their daily visit. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed with every convenience we needed. The game room on the lower level was the perfect fun retreat on the one day it rained. My family was able to get some fishing in and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit by the riverbank. There are quite a number of stairs to get down to the river, but even with a bad knee, as long as I took my time it wasn’t bad. The fenced yard right off the front porch for our three small dogs was absolutely perfect...easy to access and completely secure. The location is perfect for visiting the sights and attractions in Ellijay and the surrounding area...antique stores, farmer’s markets, Amicalola Falls, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, and the charming town of Helen. Getting in and out of the resort was not difficult, and we had no issues at the security gate. The roads to the cabin are steep and winding, but being in the mountains, that’s expected. The majority of the roads to the cabin are paved with only about the last 1/3 mile gravel. We didn’t have 4-wheel drive and we were fine getting to and from the property...although low gear was definitely helpful in a couple of spots.We’re already planning for our next trip to Ellijay in April 2024. I can’t speak highly enough about Sliding Rock Cabins; they are attentive, easy to work with, and the cabins they manage are wonderful for all members of the family! The cabin is beautiful, the screened porch is lovely, and they even left corn to feed the deer. The kids mostly stayed down in the game room until we moved in on them. Great time!

Awesome experience with a fantastic view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I wanted something very special for our 40th anniversary, our rental was just that. We both love the wild outdoors and we did get a treat. The sound of the water flowing down the river while sitting by our camp fire was so peaceful. Every day we were visited by several deer and squirrel's. The cabin was clean and cozy as well as packed games in case the weather ran you inside. One major plus was the rental is pet friendly, we didn't want to leave our fur baby out of the enjoyment.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our fourth year and fourth cabin renting through sliding rock! This cabin is our favorite by far. It has everything! The cabin is beautiful. We love to cook and this kitchen had everything. The refrigerator and freezer were large. Lots of room and counter space and cabinets The family room is open. Games and so many channels to watch movies. Then there’s the game room that just happens to have an indoor sauna. We loved all the decks and the two bedrooms with deck access The wildlife! Feeding the deer was amazing. Sitting and drinking coffee in the mornings watching red headed woodpeckers among many other species. The sounds of the river while in the hot tub is so soothing. A little piece of Heaven!This cabin was perfect for our annualGirls trip. We spent 9 glorious days here. We plan to return here next year.
