1. The Vacasa app download and registration didn’t work, and this extra step seemed unnecessary. We rented through VRBO, but Vacasa appeared to compete with VRBO. In my humble opinion, if you list a property with VRBO, all information should be available through VRBO.
2. Everything went smoothly once we connected with the local Vacasa representative by cell phone. Our only problems were with the pilot light on the fireplace and operating the home entertainment system. Scott, from Vacasa maintenance, was great! He came over and relit our pilot light. Honestly, using the entertainment system is often an issue with most properties. In this case, there were no instructions on how to get to the cable programming, but after 30 minutes of fumbling around, we figured it out.
3. Access to the slopes requires walking down a flight of outdoor stairs and a trail to the slopes. It wasn’t a huge deal, less than five minutes walk. It’s a bit challenging in ski boots. We noticed some guests wore shoes and left them on the condo side of the bridge. When you walk across the bridge over the creek, you’ll be just above the Easy Street Lift. That’s okay in the morning. In the afternoon, after lunch, it can be a problem on weekends. This is the lift most novice skiers and snowboarders use, so it gets crowded on weekend afternoons when ½ day lift ticket people hit the slopes.
4. This chalet is at the bottom of the slopes. Last year we stayed at the top of the mountain. There are pros and cons to each. Access was more accessible at the top, but we found out the hard way, you need to knock off skiing early to take the lift back to the top. We asked when the lift closed, and four-thirty was the answer. The catch, we were ready to load at 4:20 and the dude wouldn’t let us get on because they were clearing the slopes. He said we’d have to take the bus to the top. What a pain! About an hour later, we got back to our chalet.
5. You can see the Easy Street Lift from the chalet.
6. Overall, pleasant, quiet enjoyable stay. The day we left, someone left dogs in their place, and we felt sorry for other guests putting up with all the barking.
7. In general, I wish VRBO would include the total price upfront. There are always extra fees and costs not included in the base rental cost, and it feels like switch and bate.
