Shugafoot, mit freundlicher Genehmigung meiner verstorbenen Großmutter, die dieses Jahr mit 95 Jahren verstorben ist. Sie würde uns alle Enkel Shugafoot nennen.

Shugafoot ist ein Häuschen am Meer. Ein paar Schritte runter zum Strand. Wunderschöne Sonnenaufgänge, beobachten Sie die Delfine. Schöner Ort! 3 Schlafzimmer und 2 Badezimmer. Meister hat eine Königin, 2. Schlafzimmer ist voll und 3. Schlafzimmer hat zwei Einzelbetten. Alle Zimmer bieten einen herrlichen Blick auf den Strand und das Meer.

Offene Küche und Wohnbereich mit Schieberegler zu einer großen überdachten Veranda und Sonnendeck mit fantastischer Aussicht.

Beautiful view

Location could not be beat. Steps from the ocean and protected by a substantial dune. Hearing the waves as we fell asleep in the comfortable king bed was a plus. Sadly the place needs updating to be clean enough for us to come back.

Snowed in!

Everything was clean and organized. Sheets and towels provided which is not common! Rooms were a great size and everything was pretty kid friendly. I must mention the book! The Little Blue Cottage book was such a hit that we have already found it on Amazon! ordering when we get home.

Even better than we expected

The host was friendly, great communication and help. The property is ON the beach, just a dune and there it is. The views from nearly all the rooms in the house are mesmerizing. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped, and the new beds are spacious and comfortable. Excellent wi-fi and cable. Plenty of parking. Our Havanese, Dickens, was also comfortable, and loved the beach. Recommend the Black Pelican and Hurricane Mo's. Touring the Wright Memorial, including climbing Kill Devil Hill, is a must. We had a great time, and found it to be a good value.

Great winter stay at the beach

The house was just the right size for our family (and could have fit a few more) the location was excellent, and we loved watching dolphins from the front porch. Great sunsets and beautiful stargazing. The host was also very attentive (thank you, Mark!). We would definitely come again.

Great Location

I can't say enough about this place, we have stayed here a couple time and hope to stay again in the future. Great dog friendly house and perfect location for a weekend away, not far from the bridge and right on the beach. The house was clean and the kitchen pretty well stocked with everything we needed.

Relaxed and happy

That’s how we felt, relaxed and happy staying at Shugafoot. The views are beautiful and the beach is right over the dune. Coming back from the beach we appreciated the outdoor shower to rinse off. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc.. The King bed was comfortable as well as the queen. We loved the huge deck to have coffee in the morning and later wine. Overall the place was great!

Love the beach, property nice.

Other the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby causing a trip to be wet, the trip went well. This is our fifth time to the Outer Banks and we love this part of America. The house was very nice, just needs a little updating and refining.

Rainy Beach Trip

Although it rained almost our entire trip, the location on the beach cannot be beat. Our last two days we had views of dolphins and we even had a little time to relax on the deck. The house was clean but, as maybe expected in a pet friendly location, the couches were a little rough and ready. Plus that master bathroom is a little tiny (as food poisoning was involved. Yikes!) I appreciated Mark's communication and overall the location makes it!

Dying wish not fullfilled

It was a cute cottage and most of the photos of the cottage were accurate. However, the photos showing the current state of the beach view and beach access are inaccurate. The beach view and access to the beach, per the photos, was the primary reason we picked this property. It appeared in the photos to be a dream property for my husband who has terminal cancer and wanted to be at the beach and watch the waves crash on the shore while sitting in the house. He also wanted to walk down to the shore line on his own without his wheel chair. The photos provided on VRBO showed the possibility of achieving these two wishes. However, that was not the case when we arrived. In reality there is a HUGE DUNE blocking both the view of the beach from the house and the access to the beach. My husband did not get either of his wishes. We spoke with a neighbor on the beach and they stated it has not been that way in over 5 years. Other properties that were priced less had pictures of dunes blocking the view and access to the beach, which is why we didn’t pick those. The main reason for picking this property over the others that were on the beach,was based on the pictures of the view, which are not current.The host never responded when I brought up the issue of the accuracy of the beach photos and some other smaller issues we had concerning the house. We made the best of the situation because we had no choice, but being my first experience with VRBO I would ? every host from now on age of photo

Great location

The property was perfect, but unfortunately the hurricanes were coming so we had to leave early due to the property being so close to the water. For someone not used to being by the ocean, it was too scary for us to stay. Unfortunately we were unable to get money back from the rental or the trip insurance. That still wouldn't prevent us from returning again though!

We had a wonderful stay at Shugafoot. Right on the beach is a huge priority for us, and this cottage does not disappoint. Our doggies loved the fenced in deck.

2023 Kitty Hawk Vacation

Each year our family rents a house in different location along the Outer Banks. This year we chose Kitty Hawk. We loved the beach front property and convenient walk to the beach. The deck view was fabulous. Our favorite part is that the place was pet friendly and equipped with a doggie gate on the deck. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Great Location

Steps from the beach. You will see dolphins in the morning, ghost crabs at night. The beach is uncrowded, and waves are perfect for wave boarding. Reco: Holly Ridge golf practice facility, Shipwrecks lunch and dinner (crab cake sandwich and wings), Stack em High breakfast, and Lost Treasure Mini Golf. FYI: garbage is Tues, Thurs, and Sat mornings at 3am.

Right on the beach!

The surf and the breeze. It was great. Spent most of our time on the deck watching the waves come in. We never even took our beach chairs over the dune. Didn’t need to we were so close on the deck. Nice kitchen. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Loved the location! Property could have used a better cleaning.

I am not a picky person when it comes to vacation homes, as long as it is clean. The only complaints that I have are that when we arrived & entered the house there were a gazillion flies inside. I imagine the cleaning crew must have had the doors open while they were cleaning. The couches & throw pillows could use a good cleaning. I just covered the sofas with fitted sheets because I knew our furbabies would be on them. Glad I did because they were pretty dirty. The floors were not cleaned under the furniture & beds. Lots of dust & pet hair. The parking area is barely enough room for 3 vehicles to park. The outside water did not work to wash off sand before going in the house. We made everything work but had to go buy fly swatters & fly killer & move vehicles every time one of us wanted to go somewhere. There is no parking under the house like the website says. It is boarded up & full of sand. Overall our stay was good but I think the host agent should go out & check the cleanliness of the property & what is and is not working anymore.

Location Location Location

Our two sons daughter in law and 2 year old grandson and three dogs stayed a week and could not be more happy. The views are the BEST, place is beautiful. Full kitchen, plenty of rooms and bathrooms the deck is plenty big and can be locked with gate to keep baby and dogs from escaping. Dolphins and whales and sunsets did not disappoint. Close to nightlife and restaurants and yet far enough you wouldn't know they were there. Fast responses for small questions from Mark. Highly recommend and hope to stay again.
