Dieses üppige 1892 erbaute Queen Anne Victorian House wurde von Dr. Isaac Porter Primrose, und war früher das Büro des Doktors und das Zuhause seiner Familie. Das Haus verfügt über fabelhafte Eichenholzböden und -böden, farbenfrohe Glasfenster und originelle Küchenschränke mit Marmorplatte. Nach mehr als einem Jahrhundert als Residenz diente das Haus nun komplett als Bed and Breakfast. Vier farbenfrohe Gästezimmer bieten private Bäder, von denen einige sehr kreative Klempnerarbeiten erfordern!

Dieses wunderschöne Bed and Breakfast befindet sich gegenüber unserem bekannten und berühmten Hyde House aus dem Jahr 1882.
Im Primrose Bed & Breakfast sind die Radfahrer nur wenige Kilometer von Lick Run Hill, einem der anspruchsvollsten Anstiege in Ohio, entfernt. Die Steigung beträgt 19%. ATV-Enthusiasten sind nur wenige Minuten vom Dorr Run Trail Head entfernt, mit mehr als 75 Meilen ausgewiesener Strecken für Offroad-Fahrer, Mountainbiker und Wanderer durch den Wayne National Forest. Die Primrose liegt 15 Minuten westlich von Athen und der Ohio University und 15 Minuten östlich von Old Man's Cave. The home was built in late 1800's. We loved the charm of it. It has the wear of an older home, but it was cozy, the room we stayed in was one of the small ones, with a full bath. for a night or two stay, it is nice. access to the living room with a cd player, coffee machine in the dining room with a large table for breakfast guests. Books and games available. The breakfast was buffet style, served by a pleasant staff. I would definitely go back. It's a nice short walk to town in 5 minutes.

It was immediately apparent when we entered the house that the place was CLEAN and well-kept. The same was true of our room and attached bathroom. Breakfast was basic but good: eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, white & brown bread for toast with a variety of jams, etc. Good coffee and a wide variety of teas. Primrose is literally a frisbee's throw away from the Stuart Opera House, where my wife and I attended a concert -- an easy walk. There are a couple of restaurants on the square with the Opera House, although you may need to drive to another part of town if you're looking for something in particular (e.g. Mexican food). My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again if our plans take us to Nelsonville.

Misled

The description mentioned sitting on the front porch swing and relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the garden. The front porch was in shambles. No swing or furniture was available. The hot tub had an unsafe cover made of rubber(?) and slats of wood with large splinters. There was no garden and the lounge chair near the hot tub was a mess of different colors of pealing paint. We called the property manager and VRBO without any resolution. We had booked for two nights but left after the first. DO NOT waste your money on this property.

Location convenient to Mammoth March at Burr Oak State Park, great breakfast in the mornings, hot tub was nice but only one jet was working. Nice to meet other people staying at the B&B though.

Great bed and breakfast

We enjoy the yummy breakfast. It included eggs, biscuits, gravy, french toast, sausage, bacon, and a berry mix. I have a lovely stay in our room the path. It had a working tv, comfy bed, and a nice shower/tub. It was all very clean and tidy. We enjoyed sleeping with the soft fleece blanket. The room also had shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Thanks so much for having us! We will be back!

Stay at Primrose Path

Our stay at primrose was very relaxed. The rooms were clean, breakfast was provided during the weekend, which was delicious, and other travelers and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back.

Our stay was good. The bed was a little hard and breakfast was fair. We liked the location in Nelsonville. Was easy to walk to restaurant and we enjoyed seeing a local play. We were glad we found a place to stay.

We would definitely stay here again. Angel our cook was fantastic and really friendly. The room was a little smaller than we expected but overall, it fit our needs. Loved the antiques and decor.

Decent place and location. Older home that could stand a bit of TLC. Good breakfast and nice cook/cleaner. Check-in process is a bit strange for a B&B and no host on-site upon arrival.

Primrose Path was a nice B&B. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern and updated. The only drawback was the window a/c unit - which was noisy and blowed on us all night. Also no TV remote to lower volume (just Roku remote).

Perfect for our anniversary

My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary. The house and our room were beautiful. We got a great history of the house and the one across the street. Breakfast was perfect for a day of hiking. The owners have far surpassed my expectations for a romantic getaway. I will be recommending this place to anyone and everyone I can.

This exuberant 1892 Queen Anne Victorian house was built by Dr. Isaac Porter Primrose, and was once the Doctor’s office and the home of his family. The house has fabulous oak trim and floors, colorful stained glass transoms, and original kitchen cabinets with marble counter-top. After being a residence for well over a century, the house has now been completely restored as a Bed and Breakfast. Four colorful Guest rooms offer private baths, several of which have required very creative plumbing!

This beautiful Bed and Breakfast is across the street from our well known and famous Hyde House built in 1882.
At Primrose Bed & Breakfast cyclists are a few miles away from one of Ohio's most challenging climbs, Lick Run Hill, with it's double 's' turn at a 19% grade. ATV enthusiasts are just minutes from the Dorr Run Trail Head with over 75 miles of designated trails for off-road vehicle riders, mountain bikers and hikers through the Wayne National Forest. The Primrose is 15 minutes west of Athens and Ohio University and 15 minutes east of Old Man's Cave. It's perfect for parents and alumni visiting OU and perfect for a weekend visiting Ohio's famous Hocking Hills, named as one of Buzzfeed's stunning under-the-radar destinations to add to your bucket list.
