"Großartig sind die einfachen Dinge im Leben" Das werden Sie zweifellos in unserer brandneuen Kabine erleben. Sie werden feststellen, dass "Rooks Nook" viele persönliche Details aufweist, von den hochwertigen antiken Schränken und Möbeln in Used-Optik. "Rooks Nook" ist ein geräumiges Blockhaus mit 1.500 Quadratmetern, in dem die freiliegenden Balken und das rustikale Wellenbrett von Pinien abgeholzt wurden. Die umlaufende Veranda mit zwei Schaukeln und Schaukelstühlen aus Holz ist einladend und in einem schwarzen Used-Look gehalten. Verfügt auch über eine Whirlpool-Terrasse.

Die Handläufe auf der Veranda sorgen mit Hühnerdraht und Holzstützen, die mit Ausschnitten aus Cowboystiefeln und Saguaro-Kakteen akzentuiert sind, für ein besonders auffälliges Interesse. Das Anwesen beherbergt einige große Felsbrocken in der Nähe der Hütte, auf denen die Kinder stundenlang Spaß beim Spielen haben, sodass die Natur ihr Spielgefährte sein kann.

Das Hotel liegt nur wenige Minuten vom Desoto State Park, den Desoto Falls, dem Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort und Mentone entfernt, wo Sie in vielen Antiquitätengeschäften einkaufen können, die auch eine Auswahl an Lebensmitteln anbieten.

Mountain Gem!

The photos do not do this place justice! Gorgeous, clean, secluded. We LOVED it! The ONLY downside was theres no cell signal. But they have wifi and unlimited long distance on a house line to compensate. Most places are bare bones, cheaper furnite. Not this place. There's sturdy built-ins and the place is solid. They have every amenity you could need although we brought everything we needed. 10/10 would recommend. Just be ready to drive a windy, mountain road but that's going to be any cabin in that area. Phenomenal!

BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED!!!!

I have been doping some traveling in the last few years. Stayed in many cabins and hotels in the southeast This is hands down the most relaxing, well-stocked with utensils and drinkware, and immaculately clean place we have stayed. Host were the best at communicating. Not that was anything other than me locking my phone in the cabin when leaving. She was so gracious in helping me retrieve it. I usually don't go near the hot tub, BUT this was exceptionally clean and inviting!! Convenient to stores and restaurants bit not too close. Will definitely be coming back!!! Can not say enough about how we loved this cabin!!!!!!

Great Private Getaway

The property was just as it was described and was exactly what we wanted. The check-in process was easy and communication was excellent. The Rooks were available if we needed them and left multple ways to reach them. If you need a nice little place for a getaway, we recommend this little Nook! It's really close to Desoto Falls and the Salllie Howard Memorial Baptist Church. These are 2 landmarks we also recommend you visiting while here. Thank you, Kevin & Cynthia!

Great cabin in the woods!

Love the cabin! So many unique, personal touches. Open and spacious, everything we needed. I love that local trees were used to build it. Hosts were very responsive in answering questions, even had the cabin ready for us a bit early. Check in/check out were easy as can be!

Honeymoon!

What a gem, from the location to the comfortable bed! We so enjoyed our honeymoon stay. The cabin had everything you could possibly imagine. The owners were great at communicating, when needed. Sitting on the porch was heavenly, especially while watching the squirrels, birds and deer. Close to everything! We look forward to staying again.

Anniversary Trip

I booked this cabin for my 18th wedding anniversary. We checked in on a Friday afternoon and checked out on a Sunday afternoon. The check-in and out was such an easy process. The cabin was in clean and cozy. We had a fabulous time and are planning to come back with our boys. The porch is a nice place to drink your morning coffee and just look out at the woods. The cabin is also very close to town and Desoto Falls. I highly recommend this place for couples or families!

This is our second stay at Rooks Nook. As expected, it was absolutely amazing. Cynthia went above and beyond to make the stay wonderful. Everywhere you turn there are bath and body lotions, sprays, soaps and even fuzzy socks for you. We spent lots of time in the hot tub and hours on end playing pool. A much needed get away from life just to reconnect and spend time together without life's interruptions. Thank you for an amazing time!

1st family Christmas trip

It was a very nice place and clean. The master bed up stairs needs a new mattress, it has a sunken spot in it and the foam on top just makes it harder to get out off. The pool table needs a need mat and the table needs leveling up, had to readjust a few time using folder newpapers to level table. There were no scissors and the sharp knives were not sharp. But over all it was a nice clean stay. We didn't get to explore due to it raining most of the weekend. But we made do.

Rooks Nook - Outstanding!

Rooks Nook is a lovely cabin in a wooded setting with everything needed for comfort and convenience. The location provides easy access to Little River Canyon and Falls, De Soto State Park, Miller Dam, Church-in-the-Rock, Mentone, and hiking trails. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

Adorable cabin, perfect for our girl’s weekend!!

This cabin has everything you need for a great weekend in the woods! There were 4 of us and we had an amazing time sitting on the porch doing bible studies and watching deer, catching up in the hot tub and reminiscing in the living room. The owners had Bath and Body Works items everywhere which we loved, the kitchen was perfectly stocked, everything worked and we did not have a single problem all weekend. We are already planning our return.

Relaxing and Romantic

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Rooks Nook. The pictures don’t really do it justice. It is a beautiful cabin. We had the perfect relaxing and romantic weekend getaway. The area itself is gorgeous. We would definitely book again in the future.

Hello: We are Kevin & Cynthia Rooks. Kevin grew up in this area, Lived in Tennessee for 15 yrs then returned to this area. Cynthia was born in upstate New York, the family moved to West Alabama when she was 9 yrs old because her mother hated the cold. We meet in 1989 and were married in 1990. We,ve been self employed all those years, and have been able to work together,in the Custom Cabinet industry, we enjoy being able assist our customers in design and color selection of their custom cabinets.

We chose to build in Mentone, because for one, we LOVE the Mountains and always vacationed in the mountains, in East Tennessee or out West. Mentone is very beautiful all seasons and has so much to offer, for that that quite get-away, so I coined the phrase "GREAT ARE THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE". And I really beleive that the simple things in life are the most enjoyable. I,ve always wanted to build my own cabin since I've been in the construction industry, this helped me to design and built the cabin, and with Cynthia's input on the color skeam it was a very enjoyable project, in which we put many personal touches for your enjoyment.

There are many things we enjoy about our cabin Rooks Nook most in the decor. Take notice of the Exposed Beams which were Sawn from Pine Trees cut off the lot itself, these were sawn by a local Saw Man which brought his Portable Saw mill onto the lot and sawed the Beams on site. The Log walls came from North Carolina (not a kit) Each room has a Beadboard plank wainscoat which has a painted distressed finish, the Balcony Railings are Black Rubbed Distressed finish, the Kitchen is a Pine Cabinet with a Green distressed finish, and Red Knobs. All the furniture pieces were custom designed & built by our shop. There is a Pool table on the Balcony, Tile shower & Heart Shaped Jacuzzi in the Master Bath. Hot Tub & Rockers & Swings on the wrap around porch, Just relax and enjoy your self. We hope you get as much enjoyment from your stay as we do. And remember "GREAT ARE THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE"
