Having stayed at a Pinnacle Ridge Property in the past only increased our anticipation to staying at another property in that part of Schweitzer. As a family, we are very familiar with the area, having in the past owned a condo, skied there at every opportunity and enjoyed exploring other properties after we sold our unit.
This property checks so many boxes of what makes it a truly unique and desirable place to enjoy your time at Schweitzer. First off, the gently sloped ski trail access is just 1 step off the back deck to glide down to the village and all the lifts. You can ski back PR#2 by way of taking the Basin Express from the village back up the slopes to make getting back to your home via the groomed slopes and ski trails servicing the on-slope homes such as Pinnacle Ridge. It's the long route, and the walk back from the village is only 5-10 minutes and not difficult if you don't mind walking at the end of the day or if you've just gone down to shop or grab a beer at Pucci's. We walked back most of the time and it was not a big deal.
Pinnacle Ridge #2 has everything you need for a men's group, 4 bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms, or large family and group gatherings. The living room is spacious for 8-12 people, after that there are places to spread out a bit, as we used the dinette by the pantry for our Puzzle building area, the large 6-8 person dining table for meals, and felt very comfortable.
The bathrooms all worked out great, the beds are reasonably comfortable, the unit itself is decorated in an eclectic, mushroomy, but happy way. There is a very nice older sound system that suited our needs perfectly, just bring a USB to iPhone, plug it in, find the input source and pow, great sounds. The TV was not a priority and all but the Great Room a in dire need of ugrades, after all, smart tv's in the 32" variety are cheap and would satisfy all those with a basic knowledge of casting to not lament over the useless Wifi the whole Schweitzer Mountain is stuck with. 5 mb download speeds doesn't really lend itself to gaming or streaming anything, in fact email by more than one person at a time was a challenge.
The hot tub is really a two person, or two couples that really like being close to each other set up. It's clean and on the back deck so you have constant entertainment of all the snow traffic just off the deck, not a bad thing, but not private even though it's private; if you know what I mean.
The kitchen had everything, except a sharp knife. Lots of thoughtful items, pots big enough for a huge chile dinner, dishes galore, plenty of glasses and silverware, but if you want a sharp carving knife and are driving here, bring one. The oven and range worked flawlessly, the dishwasher got things clean and the sink/disposal all were working fine. The sink lav is old, cheap, leaks and is an eyesore. Costco has plenty of easy to do Lav do overs that would enhance the sink/kitchen area under $300.
