Not as expected

Location is an abandoned resort. The resort has many abandoned buildings scattered throughout. The setting is spectacular but we were unprepared for this - it’s a bit jarring. As for the rest: - This unit is not fully renovated - kitchen and bath nice but the rest not. Baseboards for instance not finished. Light switches and outlets very old. - Not clean. We had to wipe down everything; the kitchen table had dirty linen on it (we removed) and the side table we wiped down with a sponge which was completely covered in grime. Cabinets not wiped down, doors need refinishing - The outside patio hasn’t been swept - beach chairs covered in grime. - TV had to be unplugged due to non functioning outlet and plugged into one using an extension cord - Patio doors strangely are only screen doors, not possible to fully close. It was cold when we were here and neighbors made very smelly Chinese food - no way to get away from odors - The resort was a closed hotel; several buildings are abandoned as is the main lodge - all in disrepair.

Relaxing and peaceful stay!

We loved the accommodation! It had everything we needed! The sunrises, sunsets, near by beaches, pool, and the amazing day bed on the patio made for an incredible and relaxing trip. We will Be back one day!

Relaxing with beautiful views

The view is spot on in the pictures. We took awesome naps on the lanai bed and ate on the lanai table. The property was groovy and the space had all the amenities. This spot is worth it. It is a little of a drive into town (20-25 min) but there is a small general store located on property opened every day from 9a-5p. Communication with the property manager was easy and she was quick to respond. We would definatley stay here again.

Wonderful place

We have been to Molokai several times and always love it. This condo is top notch. The recent remodel is very nice. The kitchen has all new appliances and is very well equipped. There are actually very decent pans and knives which is somewhat unusual for VRBO's. The bed is very comfortable and there are plenty of towels including beach towels. Having your own washer and dryer in the unit is definitely a plus. We sure hope to be able to get this unit again on our next trip.

This property is beautiful. Clean, comfortable, very well equipped. The bedroom upstairs makes the property so spacious. The view from the living room, and lanai, is magnificent!

Amazing sunsets!!!

Property manager Trisha was awesome to work with as she was super helpful and always so quick to respond to any question. The condo was very clean with a super comfy day bed on the lanai. The sunsets are amazing either from the lanai or down on the beach. There are some abandoned buildings on the property but this unit is located in a nice section of the property. Know that it is about a 30 minute drive into town so plan accordingly for meals. We cooked a few meals in the condo which was easy since there is everything you need to put together a good meal.

Peaceful Paradise

While Molokai'i is not for partiers, it fits my wife's and my lifestyle. The ocean was right there with rumbling surf and a great view from the lanai. We'll be back and I hope this unit is available again.

A unique Hawaiian experience

note to comments on the screen door. Your balcony faces the ocean and has only screens. You cannot close them. I loved it. Commune with nature a bit. This unit is on the 2nd floor, so it felt safe. Check in was easy but you might not have a signal in Moloka'i so print those instructions ahead of time!

great condo

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at this condo and I had a great relaxing time here on Molokai. This condo had everything I needed from beach chairs to snorkel gear, beach towels, toaster, microwave ...just to name a few. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the lanai was so beautiful, especially watching the sunset laying on the cabana. Mahalo for sharing this condo with me

For the outrageously high cleaning fee charged I wish it would have been cleaned BEFORE we got there! Floors were dirty with splotches & stuff stuck on it in the kitchen, both bath towels & 1 beach towel had 2 different kind of kūkū stuck on them, corners of the bathroom hadn't had any attention & there was what appeared to be pubic hair on the floor, the grossest was that there was still toothpaste/spit in the bathroom sink from the previous guests with flecks of spit on the unwiped faucet & mirror too! I took a pic! Yuck!! Didn't trust that anything had been sanitized. I cleaned my friend's BnB for a year & was meticulous about it being spotless and it took me less than an hour! Plus it felt like we were in somebody's ongoing maintenance project, with cans of paint in the closet & a junk drawer & cabinet full of tools in the kitchen. Couldn't figure out how to turn on the living room lamps & the tangle of cords behind the TV looks like a fire hazard with all the extra outlets & extension cords added. The WiFi wasn't working as there were no lights on the modem, I'd managed to email realtor using data from my phone & the next day received a reply to try the breaker switches in the electrical panel. We didn't. We had shopped for groceries before we got there and realized afterwards there is no oven, so left a frozen pizza & some crescent rolls. I stayed at the resort in 1987, it's in such a very sad state now with boarded up buildings. While I appreciate there's a place to stay on Moloka`i & enjoyed Kepuhi Beach, I wouldn't come back here. They seem desperate for visitors to stay, and need to up their game!

The little condo that had everything!

To the owner: thank you for sharing this beautiful spot and all your furnishing, supplies, books, etc. We really enjoyed this space! To potential renters: If you are looking at this listing, I am going to assume that you understand what a visit to Molokai in general, and West Molokai in particular means. That said, we had everything we could need or want in this well appointed, comfortable, affordable condo! It has the perfect layout for a couple, loved the loft-style bedroom which is plenty breezy! We stayed for 5 days and made all our meals here. The condo kitchen had all the pots, pans, utensils, place settings, etc. plus a few bonus items such as a little beach cooler, ice packs, ziplock baggies, and more! We LOVED the breezy lanai (best when you open the front door too) with ocean views and comfy daybed and even spent most of one day lounging there! The view to the ocean and over the verdant grounds with lots of birds was mesmerizing! Under the daybed there are beach chairs and even some snorkels. The provided beach towels were huge and plush. It was a short walk to the pool where there was a shower and lounge chairs. You can walk to no fewer than 5 beaches, each with their own characteristics! Our favorite was the .6 walk north to the beach by the two headless palm trunks where there are shade trees and a wonderful tide pool. The condo furniture was comfy, shower great, bed very good (queen, on the firm side, with a variety of pillows) and the internet was very strong and dependable. Cell phone signal was ok too. A few cons, none of them a dealbreaker: during the week, grounds maintenance can be loud but they do seem to move quickly; there are some boarded up buildings, including by the pool and beach, so you need to overlook these remnants of the old resort; this condo is not “hotel clean” it is Air B&B clean with some critter droppings around the lanai (to be expected) and in corners and cracks around the interior. All of these slight cons are greatly outweighed by the location, beauty, comfort, economical price and many extras that made our stay feel homey! If you want a beautiful, secluded, gorgeous, self-sufficent beach get-a-way, this is it!

Clean and comfortable condo in Paradise

This location worked well for our trip and the condo had beautiful views and clean and comfortable in a peaceful environment. Was furnished, had kitchenware, towels, sheets, etc. soap and shampoo too. WiFi was great too.
