Before I write this, I want to preface this by saying the owner was very accessible and friendly. The events that happened were in no way her fault. The only suggestion I have for her is to get another cleaning service. The unit smelled terrible and we had top go out and get Mr. Clean and air freshener to clean before we could stand the smell. Also, a few minor issues with the Master Bathroom sliding door lock being off the door and the bottom tray of refrigerator not closing. However, the real problem was the alarm going off 2 of the 4 nights (early morning hours 12 am and 3:20 am) we were there. The first night for about 10 minutes and our last night for another 20 minutes. The desk said it was children tripping it, but we spoke with residents who said it had been an ongoing problem (occurred prior to our arrival). We got no sleep, and when I called the front desk the last day to see if we could extend our checkout for ONE hour (in an effort to get some rest before having to drive home all day) they said NO! No accommodating the guests which were inconvenienced through no fault of our own. We spent a great deal of money to stay here, and this was certainly not what we had planned. Again, this problem was not the owners fault. Portofino should issue a credit to anyone who stayed in Tower 4 last week. Totally unacceptable.
