We stayed in Kyoto for 11 days. Everything about this apartment was excellent - very nicely designed, well equipped, and perfectly clean. The apartment is located in a quiet residential area but has easy access to several famous historical and cultural landmarks including Ginkakuji temple and gardens, Hashimoto Kanetsu garden and museum, Anrakuji temple, and the Philosopher's Path. There are many good restaurants nearby, and at least two supermarkets within 5-10 minutes walk.
The apartment is part of a family house and has a separate entrance, outdoor space with a small table, small kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, and stove, and a perfect bathroom with washing machine, shower/bathtub combination, and a separate toilet. One bed is on the ground floor; internal steps connect the other on the upper level.
The host, Jun Endo, was wonderfully attentive, provided all necessary information, and responded to all our questions. At the end of our visit, he gave us great advice about the best transportation to the Osaka airport - the shuttle, which was timely, comfortable, and inexpensive.
One more recommendation for anyone staying in Kyoto for any length of time - renting bicycles is a beautiful way to explore this city full of history, culture, and art.
