Wir haben eine charmante, familienfreundliche 2-Zimmer-Wohnung mit 1 Schlafzimmer in der Nähe des Grand Lake Theatre und des Lake Merrit. Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem Haus der Handwerker, in der Nähe von Lakeshore und der Grand Ave in Oakland, zwei sehr beliebten Alleen, die viel zu bieten haben.

Das Wohnzimmer ist hell und geräumig und verfügt über ein neues Queensize-Schlafsofa und einen Flachbild-ROKU-TV. Es gibt auch einen großen Esstisch in diesem Raum.

Das erste Schlafzimmer hat ein Queen-Size-Bett, das sehr komfortabel ist. Es gibt auch eine Eitelkeit, eine Kommode und einen vollen Schrank. Wir haben eine Matratze für Kleinkinder, Graco Pack n Play, einen Kindersitz und einen großen hölzernen Aktivitätswürfel / Spielzeug für kleine Kinder, der in diesem Schrank für Ihren Gebrauch aufbewahrt wird, falls Sie mit Kindern unterwegs sind.

Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügt über einen Futon mit einer Queen-Size-Matratze, die als zusätzlicher Sitzbereich verwendet werden kann oder in ein Bett umgewandelt werden kann. Dieses Zimmer hat auch Einbauschränke mit viel Stauraum und zusätzlichen Betten. Es gibt auch einige Spiele in den Schränken, die zur Verfügung stehen.

Das Badezimmer wurde kürzlich renoviert und verfügt über eine Dusche über der Badewanne. Es ist sauber und gut ausgestattet. Das Essen in der Küche ist mit einem kleinen Tisch für 2 Personen eingerichtet, der auch ein Blatt hat, das sich zum Sitz 4 ausdehnen lässt. Die Küche ist komplett mit allen grundlegenden Kochutensilien und Utensilien ausgestattet. Es verfügt über einen Kühlschrank und einen Gefrierschrank, einen Backofen mit Herd, eine Mikrowelle, einen Toaster und eine Kaffeemaschine.

Unsere Nachbarschaft hat ein großartiges Gemeinschaftsgefühl und ist sehr gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Viele Restaurants, Cafés, Bars und Geschäfte sind in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir haben einen Trader Joe's Market und einen Safeway-Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Nähe. Und jeden Samstag können Sie ein paar Blocks zum Grand Lake Farmers Market laufen, der der beste Markt in der Gegend ist. Dort finden Sie Bioprodukte, verschiedene Speisen und Unterhaltung. Es ist auch nur 15 Minuten von der Innenstadt von San Francisco und nur 10 Minuten vom historischen Jack London Square in Oakland entfernt, mit dem Auto. Die AC-Transit-Busse fahren zu den Ferry Terminals in Jack London oder nach BART. Daher ist es einfach, mit oder ohne Auto unterwegs zu sein.

As advertised, safe & quiet

Jenn was a terrific host, very responsive and accommodating. Property was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet, and accessing the unit was no problem using instructions sent for check-in. RE: previous reviews bringing up the bathroom window - everything was fine while I stayed. WiFi worked well, easy walking access to farmer's market, shops, restaurants, and lake. If I need a place to stay the next time I visit Oakland, I'll be checking first to see if this rental is available. Highly recommend.

We not only enjoyed the apartment, but we also were pleased with it’s close location to restaurants, the Grand Lake Theater, and shopping. The neighborhood is very walkable, or ride-shares were always available. The host was helpful and responsive

Lovely! Just missing a locked window

The apartment is in a safe, lovely, walkable neighborhood. Everything about the description is accurate. The beds were comfy and the remodeled bathroom checks all the boxes. The apartment has a host of items that made traveling with little kids so much easier. There is a travel crib, toys, coloring items, and more. The driveway is narrow so only use if you have the skills of a valet. Parking on the street might take a minute but doable. The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is that one of the windows in the bathroom doesn’t actually lock, which we realized toward the end of our stay.

Great stay in Oakland

We stayed at this property twice at the bookends of our vacation since we were flying out of SFO. The property is located near some great restaurants and Trader Joe's is just down the street for easy groceries. There was plenty of space for our party of 6. Parking can be a bit of a hit or miss. It is on a very steep hill and the driveway is too narrow for most modern cars, but we were always able to find a spot nearby and felt that the area was safe. Overall great value for the location and convenience. Thank you!

A Hidden Gem in the Lakeshore Neighborhood

So many good things to say about this wonderful abode. I stayed on the main floor (two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, living room...all very spacious with high ceilings). The moment I walked into this house, I felt at home (reminded me of my 1920 house in Seattle...in fact, this house was built in 1922 and has the same hardwood floors as my home. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has everything: glasses, cups, bowls, pans, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer and cute little nook table. There are spices in the cupboards and the hosts stocked a bit of food for me in the refrigerator (nice touch). The bathroom had shampoo, soap and many towels and washcloths...no need to bring your own. There is an ironing board with a new iron. The house is VERY QUIET. I slept great each of the eleven nights I stayed. Plenty of pillows and bedding. The house is located only two and a half blocks away from the small, but bustling, Grand Avenue area where there are many restaurants. Also, a great bookstore (Walden Pond Books) on Grand, just a few minute walk from the house. I also spent a lot of time at The Grand Lake move theater...again, just a few minute walk from the house. The neighborhood is super cute and very walkable. There are a lot of nice houses in the area and I felt safe walking around at all times. The owner, Jennifer, was incredibly responsive to all of my messages. She was really on top of things, answering all of my questions within minutes. A+++++++++

Fine but…

Pros: The place was spacious and in a good location. Cons: everything seemed secondhand or worn, ants in the bathroom, no top sheets on the beds or any spare sheets in storage, and two windows had broken locks which I immediately alerted the owners about. They initially responded by asking for details but then stopped communicating with me for over an hour. I opened a case with VRBO customer service and then the owners came up with a solution but they didn’t even offer a discount for the inconvenience. Wouldn’t stay again.

Great Location

Could not have asked for a better place for my friend and me, who were in Oakland to attend a wedding. We did not have a car, so the convenience of having lots of restaurants and a grocery store within easy walking distance was very much appreciated. It's also close to several bus lines including at least 2 that will take you to/from the MacArthur BART stop, for those using SFO. The single bathroom is easy for two non-coupled people to share because it is separate from the bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again, and my friend said he would move in if the owners would let him rent it! Since he lives in NY, that's just talk, but it says a lot about the place.

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay here. Listing as advertised, and had sleeping option and toys for our 2.5 year old. Also very walkable, which is great in general, but especially with a small child. Would stay again.

Loved our stay!

We had a great stay here with our 1 and 4 year olds. They loved playing with the toys in the house. The beds were comfortable. The place is very cozy and we loved being able to walk to restaurants, Trader Joe's, the lake, and Children's Fairyland. It was also an easy drive into San Francisco and to and from SFO airport. Great place and location! And the hosts were very accommodating and helpful too!

Great location of Lakeshore

The accommodations were as they appeared on booking page. Easy to find your way around the kitchen and use of items in refrigerator, bottled water was in refrigerator so it was great to have a few bottles that first night. Very clean and a quiet neighborhood . Street parking was not too great & a narrow driveway to park in drive way. That first night the residence car was parked at an angle which made it a little difficult to park our car. They have the best fluffy bath towels, must say better than hotel towels. If you wish to watch TV , you need to have a streaming account for direct TV Now or something of that nature to get movies to watch. Overall , I recommend this location. Thanks to the host who had a great list of restaurants and sightseeing locations to go to. Oh, restaurants close @9 pm. We were fortunate to find a Chinese restaurant that was open late on Grand Ave. Acosta from Grand theater. We enjoyed the food and they had a huge takeaway while there eating, traffic was heavy with people picking up as well as another day we did takeaway. The host was accommodating and I have the greatest respect for making sure we had a fantastic stay. Our family had no complaints so it was a great time in Oakland, we were not far from where we travel to events we went to.

Great base for travelling into San Francisco

Lovely apartment, very spacious. Easy walk to bart to get into San Francisco and some nice places to eat just down the road including the amazing Arizmendi bakery. Owners were very prompt and helpful communication wise. If you're planning to park on the drive I would recommend an SUV for the ground clearance but otherwise we parked with no issues.

Good Oakland location

The right place for a family trip. We visited Oakland, San Francisco and Sausalito from there. It was easy to walk to Oakland and to drive to other places. There are plenty of stores and restaurant nearby. The information provided upon our arrival was also very good. The house had all needed and in good condition. The parking slot can be a bit challenging for a good car. However, our stay was very pleasant. Moreover, the availability and communication of the host were excellent. Thank you,

You can’t pick a better location. Close to Grand Avenue and Lakeshore Drive and just a short walk to Lake Merritt. Very clean and comfortable. Greg and Jennifer were very communicative and helpful. Would definitely recommend not others and stay again.

This bright, updated, and cheery apartment is located well with great freeway access and in close proximity to walking lake and some of the best Cuban food ever! Check out CANA just about a block away. Thanks for helping our family make some wonderful memories in Oakland and SF.

Location, Location, Location! Our triplex is tucked away right behind Lakeshore Avenue. It's a lively area, within short walking distance to anything you may need. It also has easy access to public transportation, for traveling to San Francisco or anywhere in the bay area, and quick and easy freeway access, if traveling by car.
