This summer I needed to find a place to stay that was suitable for me, my elementary-aged kids, and elderly parents to stay for a week. This was perfect! Will absolutely come back again. The planned community is a great place for the kids to ride their bikes with more freedom than our urban home, we can all go to the pool together, and it is close enough to the beach to get there in the car. People there are so so so friendly. The kids and I put the bikes on the car and drove to the bike path one day as well. This summer there were community whiffle balls and bats out at the field, and we went and played there most days as well. We did the Wednesday family BBQ and floatie night too. Be sure to check the Great Harbors website and the calendar at the pool to know what events are happening. The house was immaculate and very very comfortable. My parents stayed in the king room on the first floor, and only had to manage the porch stairs. The downstairs bathroom was theirs (though it is a tub-shower, so not totally accessible for disabilities). Plenty of room upstairs for me and the kids. AC worked great. Living room/kitchen were quite comfortable for the 5 of us. (May have gotten cozy with more, so it's good there is a TV room to spread out as well if you have a larger group). The kitchen has pretty much everything you need, including plenty of dishtowels (though as with all rentals, bring your own knives if that is important to you, also bring your own oils, salt, pepper, etc, coffee filters are #4). The grill was clean and worked really well, extra propane on site which is nice. Laundry worked great. I have no idea how people keep basements so clean and organized, but they do! Easy to find flashlights if you need them. Outdoor shower was lovely. Big yard in back in case your kids want to bring a soccer ball, and they can also play at the field. Only thing to note: Check in 4 pm, makes it tough to do a grocery run and get dinner on the table for kids after getting there. I had groceries delivered for check in time but they were late too, so better to just plan for take-out the first night. Check out is 9 AM with a pretty rigorous check out list including an empty dishwasher and all plates etc put away, floors swept, bathrooms wiped down. This made for a last night focused on packing/cleaning and an early fast-paced last morning to get breakfast done and cleaned up, so if you have a larger group and/or young kids it is good to know to plan ahead.
