Willkommen zu unserem neuen Angebot für 2019! Unsere Ferienwohnung befindet sich an der West- und Ostseite einer gepflegten Wohnanlage und bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den Kanal und den angelegten Garten. Wir kümmern uns sehr gut um das Anwesen, damit sich unsere Gäste wohlfühlen und wie zu Hause fühlen. Entweder auf den Ost- oder Westdecks der Einheit, am unberührten Strand oder am Pool ist viel Platz, um die Sonne in einem von Natur umgebenen Gebiet zu genießen.

Irida II basiert auf einem Thema. In Anerkennung der sehr langen und geschichtsträchtigen maritimen Geschichte der Outer Banks haben wir drei Fotoräume geschaffen - im Grunde drei Galerien -, die eine Geschichte über die Natur und den menschlichen Wunsch zu segeln erzählen. Wir sind Segler und seit Jahren gesegnet, die unglaublichen Gaben der Natur zu erleben, die die Outer Banks bieten. Es ist uns eine Freude zu versuchen, unsere Welt mit unseren Augen zu teilen.

Lebensmitteleinkäufe und zahlreiche Restaurants erreichen Sie in 5 Fahrminuten. Ocean Air Sports - ein führendes Wassersportzentrum am Außenufer - befindet sich gleich nebenan. Dieses Gebiet ist eines der beliebtesten Kiteboarding- und Windsurf-Gebiete an der gesamten Ostküste und ist auch für seine Fischerei bekannt. Ein wunderschöner Kanal bietet Zugang zum Pamlico Sound, oder der öffentliche Zugang zum Ozeanstrand ist nur zehn Gehminuten entfernt. Angesichts der Outer Banks, der Konzentration von Bundes- und Landesschutzgebieten, gibt es reichlich Möglichkeiten zur Erholung in der Natur und die Geschichte ist legendär.

Unsere Einheit ist eine Ebene und befindet sich im ersten Stock, was die Unterbringung einfacher macht als an den meisten Orten in den äußeren Ufern. Das Gerät verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küche und zwei Badezimmer. Kabelfernsehen und Internet sowie Zugang zum Pool sind inbegriffen. Eine bodennahe Aufbewahrungseinheit ist im Lieferumfang enthalten und eignet sich zum Aufbewahren von Windsurf-, Surf-, Paddle- oder Kiteboard-Ausrüstung.

A great stay

I chose this condo because it is centrally located on Hatteras. Spacious for the two of us, very clean, great communication with the host. Eco-friendly technology for lighting, fans, and a/c was impressive. I would definitely book this again…highly recommend.

Clean, quiet and everything we needed

We checked in the Condo right after the check in time. It was already freshly cleaned with fresh towels and sheets. We spent a lot of time at the pool, which was very close to the condo. We enjoyed our stay!

Great apartment to close to the sound in Avon

I had a wonderful long week-end stay at this apartment right next to Ocean Air and very close to Pamlico Sound, perfect for kitesurfing excursions and enjoying Avon! Wonderful host, and a very clean and charming apartment. I loved the windsurfing and kitesurfing pictures;-)

Our family stayed Sunday thru Friday. It was nice and relaxing. We had to pool to ourselves most of the week. On the northern edge of Avon so everything you need is a short drive away. The condo was nice and we had no issues.

Perfect for our first trip to OBX

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we depended strictly on previous reviews as to location and convenience to everything as we booked our stay. We were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival! The condo is well kept and incredibly clean…which is a MUST for me. The location was great! The condo is very energy efficient and we liked the fans so much, we’re replacing the ones in our own home. We had a delightful stay and we’ll return next year. Thank you so very much!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect where the beach was walking distance and stores were a quick drive away. We had to go to the store several times to get essentials that we normally would expect at a place (ie. dish soap, detergent, sponge, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, etc.) We also expected the washer/dryer to be in the unit instead of a communal one. The description did not indicate this. If we were to return again, we would make sure to stay in an above ground unit. The neighbors above us were pretty loud starting at 6:00 am- 12:00 midnight.

Awesome getaway

This was our first trip to the outer banks and we could not have asked for a better place to stay..The owners were extremely helpful before we even got there. As we were packing to leave we started planning for next year.

Excellent location and price

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was terrific close enough to the beach but great views of the bay and kite surfers. The pool was also a treat for my son when he was tired of the beach. My only critique is the master bedroom mattress was really loud and squeeked whenever me or my wife moved. Otherwise a very pleasant stay!

This was our first stay in Avon having stayed In northern OBX communities previously. What an idyllic and peaceful area, definitely our favorite beaches so far, and Ocracoke was a great and easy to access day trip. The home itself was modern, well thought out and very clean. Our kids loved being able to go easily between the beach and pool. Highly recommend and concur with all the other 5 star reviews.

Great place to stay at Outer Banks

It is a great family friendly location that is close to most attractions in Outer Banks. We, a family of 4 had a very comfortable stay. Few things to highlight are the very comfortable beddings, kitchen with all cookwares and utensils, well furnished, very clean and nice looking rooms, balcony with nice view, 1st floor. Would definitely recommend.

Great spot for a family vacation!

This was our 1st family vacation with our 2 girls and their 1st time seeing the ocean. We loved our home away from home, especially having breakfast on the balcony. Easy to book and communication was always clear and owners were available if needed. Very easy process too!

A really nice place

My family and I enjoyed this place. It was walking distance from the beach and a pool was right outside. There wasn’t much to do on the sound side, but you could drive south a bit to find a spot to relax. It was an enjoyable vacation and I really appreciated how neat, open, and inviting this place was.

Tedrowe Bonner is trained as a sociologist and works globally in the field of regenerative development. He and his work colleague Marcia Amidon are currently working in Ukraine and in different parts of the United States. Their work ranges from land-use development through permaculture, to consulting with governments on developing sustainable master plans.

Marcia is one of North America’s leading children authors and editors in nonfiction, as well as an accomplished pianist. She works with Tedrowe extensively on writing projects as well as project development for their work in regenerative development.

Tedrowe has been an avid sailor for many years and had a successful racing career. Like any dedicated sailor, he sneaks away for a session of windsurfing or kiting whenever he can; if you see him traveling with a long suitcase, it is probably is sailing gear. Marcia has decided to join this crazy journey, and has experienced the power of water in ways she never thought she would.

The Outer Banks carries a long and storied anthropological and ecological legacy that perhaps few places in America can claim. The oldest European artifacts in North America were found in the Outer Banks, and a thriving civilization of indigenous people lived very successfully for hundreds of years prior to Europeans’ arrival. The Outer Banks remains a vital link in the “Atlantic Flyway” for migratory birds, which speaks to its historical importance of biodiversity. For centuries these barrier islands have served as a critical haven for humans and wildlife.

Like native ancestors who arrived here from mainland tribes, we see this as an important place to vacation. In our modern interpretation, we have come here for years to windsurf and kiteboard, but really many threads remain of what transpired centuries ago. Ultimately, it is the nature and the people that make time here so compelling.

The properties we have selected allow us to blend community and activity as this part of Avon has developed into a hub for water sports enthusiasts. Moreover, we are striving to make vacations convenient, and it is viable to have a great time without ever needing to get in the car. Our rentals strike a great balance by being close to everything that makes a vacation worthwhile, perhaps not so differently than people who lived here a long time ago.

Most simply, our approach is to offer many of a hotel’s conveniences with all the benefits of being in a home. But, in reality our mission is far more extensive. The core purpose of our company is to help regions around the world create a path towards a sustainable future, where all human activity generates comprehensive health for all life on this planet. How we live – our homes – is an extremely important piece of this future, and we take it very seriously.

Our units reflect this work the best they can. We have installed some of the most advanced fans and climate control technology to improve indoor air quality and comfort. We have spent numerous working days researching soaps, cleaning products, detergents, and paper products that are good for the environment and for us. We have taken numerous energy and water efficiency measures that actually will improve our guests’ stay.

We hope that while sitting on the balcony with a cold drink watching sunsets and sailors, you will appreciate our efforts. This is an evolving project, and we appreciate your ideas and feedback.
