Great Staff and Location
Chose to stay in Canmore for a more laid back vibe vs Banff. Great location, staff was friendly and helpful. Our unit was well appointed, the outdoor grill and laundry in the unit were big pluses. Kitchen had everything we needed. Not really meant as criticism, but just the reality, our unit was maybe 200 meters from Hwy 1A through the trees, so traffic noise made using the balcony a bit competitive traffic vs conversation . Also, on Labor Day at between 5:30-6PM the lawn service came to cut the grass on riding mower. We fled back inside

Everything we needed
Stay was great - used as our home base while we hiked all over Banff and surrounding national parks. The hot tub was a nice place to unwind after every day’s adventures. Even saw a group of elk right off the balcony on our last morning! Location is only a short distance away from restaurants/coffees and only a 10-15 minute walk from downtown Canmore. Would highly recommend!

Disappointed in cleanliness and response by owner
I have stayed in Canmore at other similar VRBO properties and had very positive and enjoyable experiences. In all of those instances I provided fair and positive reviews. Unfortunately, for this rental I was very disappointed. When we arrived we found the unit was not cleaned properly and the towels were dirty. The owner offered to bring in cleaner on day two of our stay and suggested using towels from the cupboard. We found four towels from the cupboard were also dirty and could not use them. I told the owner I was disappointed and received no further response. Only one set of remotes were available for two tvs. When I asked the owner about the second set of remotes they ignored me. Then after we checked out the owner sent me pictures of the dirty towels in the bath tub with no text. I explained I had time-stamped photos of the dirty towels we found upon our arrival, to which I received no response. I feel bad that the previous renter that paid for a cleaning service which wasn’t done properly.

Great Stay!
We had a great stay, however the code for the parking garage didn’t work but thankfully communication was prompt with the owner. Once the kids were in bed we hoped to play some cards or a board game, although none were to be found. If you plan on staying and playing some kind of game, pack your own! Regardless this is a clean and centrally located place and did the trick for a night away :)

This rental is listed on vrbo. When you book with Expedia you will get an email with instructions from vrbo about checkin etc. Codes that are given in this email were out dated so we were unable to get into the parkade or the pool. We then checked the Expedia app that gave us some different codes. Again they were outdated. A bit frustrating but solved once we spoke with someone at the checkin desk. The property is great and the rest of the stay was wonderful.

Pros: - great location - pool and hot tub facility is a huge plus for families - communication with owner was good overall and responses were fairly prompt - access to a Banff Park pass Cons: - conflicting access information to access parkade and amenities (one message provided certain codes and another provided other codes which was confusing) - the electronic lock on the door was very frustrating to use (it would take many, many attempts at times to lock or unlock - when contacted the owner said it is finicky and old) - temperature in the unit was very warm, too hot to sleep comfortably (we slept with window open and only a sheet in the winter - when contacted the owner mentioned it is centrally controlled even though there is a thermostat in the room) - unit was superficially clean but could use a thorough deep clean (counters were dirty and sticky, and food was under the chairs/couches) - mattress on the bed needs to be replaced (it is very soggy in the middle and you are constantly are being "pulled" in to the soggy spot)(it was very hard on my back) - there was a very strong fragrance in the unit which was quite overpowering (not sure if it was due to cleaning supplies or an air freshener) - the complex was very busy which made the pool/hot tub challenging to use at peak times (we found that late morning or early afternoon were the best times)(this is not the fault of the owner but just an observation and to be expected during peak season)

Conflicted: A Question of Comfort
On paper, this accommodation is perfect. We had everything we needed in the kitchen (please note we didn't cook) and the bathroom was well stocked. Everything was clean. The owner was responsive. She fixed immediately a leak in the washer and brought us a new coffee pot because the current one wasn't working.The location was wonderful. We walked each morning to a french bakery for breakfast and enjoyed many of the local restaurants which were again within walking distance. The facilities had a great pool/hot tub as well as restaurant. For all of this, I give this place 5 stars. Here is my concern about this rental. It just isn't comfortable. The bed sagged in the middle, leaving my husband and I feeling like we were sleeping on a slope the entire night. After the 3rd of 10 nights in this rental, I contacted the owner to tell her about the condition of the mattress. She didn't not comment on the mattress, just suggested that I sleep on the couch. One, I didn't spend a great deal of money to sleep on a couch. Two, the couch was uncomfortable too!! We had to remove the back cushions of the couch to even begin to be able to sit on it (the couch felt like it was made for children) and even then the cushions were hard and uncomfortable. What made this lack of comfort so disappointing is that we couldn't really unwind after a long day on the trails. We would have loved to sink into the couch and watch a movie to relax but that just wasn't an option. Then there was the question of how well we would sleep. It was really disappointing in that way. So I give it 3 stars. If you aren't looking at spending time relaxing in the condo then this place is excellent. I hope the owner takes the time to make these changes because if so, this rental would be perfect.

Seriously … 5 stars!
We stayed with my family kids were 3 and 5. The apartment was very clean and perfectly set up for the four of us. The cupboards were fully stocked with essentials and so was the fridge! They thought of everything - even coffee creamer :) They had bear spray, umbrellas, everything for the kitchen, and even shampoo and conditioner! My kids were obsessed with the pool and some awesome dining was within walking distance (check out Blake). My ONLY complaint is the parking is tight (I also have a massive SUV) but it was underground and secure so I really can’t complain at all. Just something to be aware of.

Great 1bed apartment in convenient location
Apartment is in a resid-hotel complex with good facilities. 10 mins walk to supermarket. 15 minutes to town centre. Toiletries and basic cleaning products (dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent etc) provided. Dry food/spices/oil etc is also provided (possibly by previous occupiers) which is a friendly touch. All in all a great apartment to spend time exploring Canmore and its surrounds. Thanks very much!

Good place to stay and great restaurant attached to property
We really enjoyed the restaurant attached to the property - the food was excellent. I really liked our view from the condo as it had unobstructed views of the mountains with no condos or homes behind us. The bed was not that comfortable and it squeaked a bit when you moved. My husband complained of soreness after waking up. The people above us were pretty noisy, but that is to be expected in a condo when you aren't on the top floor. I did not like how there was a main door that you enter from the hallway where there was then access to 2 separate condos (a door on either side after you enter the main door). The people opposite us were very loud when the left and entered and the doors were constantly slamming shut. Other than these few things, the stay overall was good.

We rented this condo for 5 nights in February. Excellent property, had everything we needed and lots of room for a family of four. Our young boys slept on the pull out couch. Very well equipped condo. Property is great, kids had a blast in the pool and water park. We will be staying here again on our next visit to the area.

Decent stay
We chose the resort based on our friends having booked the property already. The location is fine and convenient enough to both highway (right beside) and downtown (10 minute walk). Check-in was impersonal — no human contact — as is expected when renting from a company. We arrived early but the door code would only work as of 4:00pm exactly, even though the unit was ready. Parking was easy but as other reviewers have noted, it is tight! Overall, comfortable for two adults. Comfortable furniture, even the sofa bed. Lots of space to spread out and lots of hangers and space to unpack. Noise from hall minimal but from adjacent unit sharing an entry, fairly noticeable. Cons: The unit could definitely be cleaner. It was clean but not spotless: bathroom grout has orange mold, floors seemed dirty, fridge was not wiped out. No top sheets for beds is admittedly the European style, but it can be a bit off-putting in North American rentals where you aren’t sure if the duvet cover is cleaned each time. Bathroom could use more hooks and needs a new shower curtain as well as a deep deep clean. Furniture in bedroom and kitchen is showing signs of wear. The resort is a maze to navigate and shows signs of hard use. The complex feels sterile and hard-worn. Signage is lacking for elevators and COVID protocols are absent (no sanitizer anywhere!). Kitchen is enormous, but dishes are sparse and dinner plates are actually too big for the dishwasher. Overall decor is a bit dated but it is fine enough. And finally, unit needs a fan to make hot summer nights more bearable — even with A/C, the bedroom gets warm. Pros: Nice views of property behind resort and mountains. Good sized balcony. Lots of space in suite overall. Bed is creaky but massive and soft. And having laundry available is wonderful. Two TVs is great and the fireplace looks lovely. Didn’t use the BBQ but appreciated the option! If you want a serviceable property for a short stay in Canmore this fits the bill. If you think it will be a personal and homey experience, though, you would be wrong. It is part of a set of rentals owned by a company, at a mega resort filled with other rentals and hotel suites. Nothing wrong with that, just know what you are getting!

Located 15 minutes from Banff, and approximately one hour from Calgary, this home away from home comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely covered patio with BBQ and seating to enjoy the mountain air. Our apartment is stocked with locally made, 100% natural bath and body products. The entire apartment is kept clean using only eco-friendly cleaning products (no nasty chemicals here!). An umbrella and rain coats are available should you need them.

The apartment is best suited for couples, but there is extra accommodation for two in the comfy sofa bed if you need it. The two hot tubs are a welcome place to revive sore muscles after a day of adventure, and if you want to work off dinner, there is a small but functional gym in the building. Can't be bothered walking to town? There's a fabulous Asian-fusion restaurant on the ground floor!

Canmore offers loads of opportunities for the adventurous and serene alike. Hike, bike, climb, ski, white water raft or canoe, and when you need a little downtime, settle with a picnic blanket and a book in a park besides the river in summer, or cozy up in front of the fire in winter.

You can always rent ski gear at the ski resorts with higher price. The price does not include Helmets. It will cost 5 to 7 Canadian dollars each. Bring your own Helmet and mask if possible.

a. Lake Louise: 2 tickets for 150$ -- highly recommended (regular 99$ youth (13-17 years old) 77$)
b. Sunshine Village: 3 tickets for 230$ -- highly recommended (regular 99$ youth 77$)
c. Nakiska: 2 tickets for 115$ (regular 65$ youth (13-17) 49$) -- snow condition not as good as the above 2 resorts

3. Dog sledding tour - you may need reserve in advance.

4. “not-to-be-missed” activities that I can think of:
a. Johnston Canyon ice walk (2 hours)
b. Banff Hot Spring
c. Northern light watch

The Trough Dining Co – Canadian style $$$$
Tapas Restaurant – European Style $$$$ (Some of the guests loved it.)
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company – Italian style (Very busy place)
Crazy Weed – Canadian style
The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company – Bar (Local beer and spirit, food is ok. Very busy place)
There is a Le fournil Bakery close to the Chalet for breakfast. (I personally like it)

7. Canmore is small and easy to get around on foot, by car or by public transit. There is public transportation around Canmore, and to/from Banff. Information about Canmore Roam Transit service can be found from their website.
