Great house in the country

This little property is very special. It’s very quiet and peaceful. However, be prepared for people working in the vineyard that surrounds the house starting early in the morning. It’s too bad that they don’t have separate zones for heating because one area of the house might get quite warm while the bathrooms are chilly.. I would also get toilet paper holders on the wall much easier than what they have now. But it’s a special place. It’s just very very quiet if you don’t like quiet don’t go there..

Great House

We really enjoy staying at this house. It is super quiet and a great place for us to chill out. You can simply sit on the terraces and look out across the valley for hours on end. We enjoy cooking in the spacious kitchen and relaxing with a glass of wine....or two. The location is great; the house is great. Always a good reason to return next year.

Family get together

Such a lovely, peaceful setting to get together with family. Easy access for our elderly dad who grew up down the road a bit. The views reminded me of Tuscany with rolling hills of vineyards with comfortable covered outdoor seating for everyone to enjoy. Every detail was thoughtfully provided for our convenience. Arrival and departure was seamless.

Perfect for two couples on a weekend getaway

We had high expectations coming into our 4 day long weekend visit. When I sent the listing (w/pics) to the two spouses for evaluation, the replies were immediate and empathetic: YES!! If anything, it's better than the pictures. Love that each side is identical--no one gets the lesser room.Each bedroom was roomy and comfortable, with a full bath. The kitchen is gorgeous and functional, the living area nicely appointed. Then you step outside..pictures don't do it justice. A million dollar view. At night you can hear every sound in the whole valley. It's eerie. We've been in many VRBO that you could say that they've thought of everything, but here it's all done with a lot of careful thought and style. Very impressive. Booking and follow-up contact was relentlessly efficient. The printed and digital guides they give are the best we've ever seen. Hope to return someday soon....

This place is a gem! So close to many wineries and basically 10-15 minutes to Newberg, Yamhill, Carlton and McMinnville. Perfect location and the views of vineyards and rolling hillsides was amazing. Easy check in/out and clear communication. Will definitely return.

Postcard Pretty

The house was clean, organized, and charmingly decorated. The kitchen was so well stocked and was a joy in which to work. But the setting was the true star. The house is so private and is on a hill so the view was so elegant and we loved hearing the donkeys and goats in the morning. We cannot wait to stay in Southfield Cottage again.

WOW perfection

Just a stunning spot. The place looks like the images online but better ;) with views that go on forever. Everything was in wonderful condition. We were comfortable and all four members of our group raved about the cottage. I wish we had stayed longer and cannot more highly recommend it! Hope to be back!

What you see is what you get

No fish eye lens. Everything was as you see in in photos. We absolutely loved our time at Southfield Cottage. Communications were particularly good. I didn't have to stress about receiving replies to my inquiries. Response times were amazingly quick. I hope to return to this property.

A Peaceful Break

The house itself is relatively simple with two bedrooms and two ample bathrooms. The kitchen is large and well appointed with excellent appliances. We only used the cooktop, but there is an oven and all of the tools needed. Probably the most pleasant feature of the home is the tranquil setting and the excellent porches at the front and back of the home. We spent every evening sitting on the porch; enjoying the peaceful evening light. We will definitely return. Thanks!

A wonderful place

This cottage is out in the middle of vineyards of perhaps the best AVA in Willamette Valley (Ribbon Ridge). It's about a 20 minute drive to McMinnville or Newburg on some of the most scenic country roads. Fairly new construction with two full ensuite bedrooms, both with king beds. A wonderful, open kitchen and sitting area, plus a wonderful, shaded back porch. The pictures on the VRBO site are not "cherry picked" views. About the only thing that limited star gazing at night was the incredibly bright full moon.

Spectacular Willamette Home

The home is the perfect layout for 2 couples. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in with brand new appliances. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the view is stunning. Lovely Escape - Privacy!

This was a wonderful, relaxing, and luxurious escape from reality! I stayed for two nights with 3 girlfriends for a birthday getaway in early June. The check in process was very easy with a code being texted to me upon check in time. It was easy to communicate with the property managers via text and email. The only hiccup was that an extra air mattress that I rented would not stay inflated, but they dropped off a new air mattress the next morning. The interiors are airy, spacious, and inviting with a fantastic island that’s great for gathering around in the kitchen. The cottage has all the amenities you could need for a wine country escape, including a very thorough binder of wineries, restaurants, and other services. Since we arrived on Thursday afternoon, there were no workers in the vineyards and we got to enjoy feeling like the only people among acres of grapes. I would love to come and stay again, although that will require testing out how well a toddler could be entertained. In the meantime, I will cherish the relaxation we enjoyed at Southfield Cottage.

Lovely spot and great location

The property was very well equipped and the setting in the vineyards was so beautiful with a view of Mount Hood on a clear day. This was a perfect property for two couples. When we cooked in, we dined on the terrace, drank Pinot noir and soaked up the views. There are many tasting rooms within a 15 minute drive. The Willamette Valley is intimate and the people were very friendly.
