Unser Haus bietet Ihnen einen geräumigen, offenen, sonnendurchfluteten Rückzugsort mit herrlichem Blick nach Osten auf die Bay of Fundy und ins Landesinnere auf Bunkers Hafen, der sich auf mehr als 15 Hektar Wald mit einer begehbaren 660 Fuß langen Küste aus rosafarbenem Granit befindet.

Beobachten Sie vom Pavillon aus, wie Hummerboote das Wasser befahren, oder beobachten Sie die Brandung draußen aus den zweistöckigen Fenstern des Wohnzimmers der Kathedrale. Machen Sie einen kurzen Spaziergang oder eine Radtour zu den Wegen der Schoodic-Halbinsel im Acadia-Nationalpark oder eine kurze Fahrt zum berühmten Schoodic Point.

Drinnen auf der Hauptebene genießen Sie eine spektakuläre Aussicht vom Wohnzimmer, einer gut ausgestatteten Gourmetküche (& Butlers Speisekammer) und einem geräumigen Esszimmer. Die Hauptebene bietet auch einen gemütlichen Spiel- und Puzzleraum, ein Büro / Arbeitszimmer, einen Flügel, ein Schlafzimmer / Kinderzimmer, zwei Badezimmer, einen Lehmraum und eine angeschlossene Garage für zwei Autos.

Im Obergeschoss finden Sie ein geräumiges Hauptschlafzimmer mit spektakulärem Blick auf das Wasser und allen Annehmlichkeiten, die Sie erwarten, darunter eine Badewanne und ein Gaskamin sowie zwei weitere komfortable Schlafzimmer und ein großes TV-Wohnzimmer mit Dachboden.

Die Eigenschaft

Im Freien finden Sie eine lange Holzterrasse mit einem Gasgrill, einem windgepeitschten Pavillon, 200 m begehbarem rosa Felsen und einer mit Felsblöcken bedeckten Uferpromenade sowie 4 Hektar großen privaten Wäldern. Ein großer Granitfelsen auf dem Grundstück ist bei Ebbe für die frischeste Meeresluft in Down East Maine zugänglich. Sie können im Wald entlang der Küste oder der Auffahrt wandern, um sich nicht zu verirren.

Das Restaurant Bunker s Wharf (nur im Sommer) erreichen Sie in etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Oder fahren Sie mit dem Fahrrad oder in weniger als 3 km Entfernung zum Dorf Birch Harbour, wo Sie das Restaurant Pickled Wrinkle, eine Eisdiele (nur im Sommer) und ein kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft finden.

Erkunden Sie das nahe gelegene Dorf Winter Harbor, wo Sie mit der Sommerfähre den Rest des Acadia NP auf Mount Desert Island und Bar Harbor erreichen können. Verpassen Sie nicht den Baumarkt oder die gemütliche öffentliche Bibliothek.

Great place for gathering and seeing Downeaster coast

A very beautiful, large and comfortable home right on a spectacular strip of the Maine coastline. We enjoyed the beauty and comfort of this place. We brought the family together and we all had a great time. Large kitchen was super for cooking and enjoying. A beach campfire in the evening was a fantastic way to spend time with loved-ones.

The VIEW!!!!

We loved this house!! Just how we wanted to end our 10 days in Maine! The house is gorgeous, the view and the location are spectacular! It was definitely on the higher priced side. As an owner of high end rental properties we always make sure to have the best cooking supplies. We needed some more pans, the ones supplied weren’t awesome. We couldn’t figure out how to use the grill. Other than just a few minor things the house was great, but for what we paid, for me to give it a full 5 star it would’ve had to been perfect. If you are looking to get away this house is exactly what you want! The kids loved being on the rocks. The Pickled Wrinkle has great food and Schoodic Pt is gorgeous! You are about an hour from Bar Harbor but we didn’t want to me in the busy part so the location for us was magical! Bring bug spray! The mosquitoes got us! 😬

Incredibly unique experience

A great place for a family reunion in a incredible house. The location is perfect with easy access to Acadia’s Schoodic district bike paths and loop road. I would definitely come back.

One of the best Oceanside homes in Maine

This is an incredible property in so many ways. The home is about 15 years old but has been well maintained by it's owners. It really feels quite new. The kitchen is fit for gourmet cooking with all the best appliances and cooking utensils. The location on the coast of Maine's Schoodic Peninsula is remote but a wonderful ferry ride away from Bar Harbor if you want to shop. Our host Kevin responded to all our questions immediately during the stay. We would have loved to stay longer.

Great house, awesome location, responsive hosts

Spacious, modern, well equipped house in secluded location near little-known part of Acadia National Park. Beautiful views of Bunker Harbor. Great hiking and biking. One hour drive to Bar Harbor/main portion of Acadia National Park not so bad - we did it twice. There is a ferry but it was not running when we were there. Not many open restaurants nearby but easy to get fresh lobsters and seafood; lobster rolls. Don’t fret about the internet; it works well enough. Highly recommend!

Very welcoming house perfect for a multigenerational stay.

The house was perfect for my family of 5 plus a set of grandparents. So much space to spread out and being on the water was amazing. We enjoyed everything this house has to offer inside and outside. Being close to the quieter side of Acadia was ideal and the small town was charming. Kevin and Sonia were very helpful and easy to work with. Thank you!

This home was the perfect place to get away with the family ... beautiful east-facing views, far from the busy-ness of Bar Harbor, yet close enough to visit. Spectacular place to get away from it all!

This is a wonderful house in a very special part of Maine. The property is nicely secluded so the only noise you hear is that of lobstermen pulling out of the harbor to retrieve their catch of the day. Within a short drive are some of the most stunning scenic views and great hiking and biking trails. This was a welcome and exceptional variation from our Midwestern home. The home is great, and fights not to be upstaged by the spectacular surroundings. Wonderful experience for us.

Amazing Home

Everything about the house was amazing and furnished above and beyond in any other I’ve stayed. Location is very nice I gave it a 4 because my lack of research so Kevin I apologize for that but want others to understand where it is vs where things are to do. We made the roughly 1hr drive to bar harbor every day and don’t regret any of our trip. We appreciate your hospitality and lovely home for us to use.

Amazing property in an unbeatable location. You will not regret booking this one.

We booked this property for a multi-generational family get-away to celebrate our daughter who graduated from College during COVID. We wanted her to feel celebrated because she did not get an in-person graduation. This location worked like a charm. My 85 year old mother and I enjoyed "plein air" painting from the gazebo with the gorgeous view. The graduate herself spent most of her days on the smooth granite rocks along the shore. We brought our bikes and my husband led a group around the Schoodic Peninsula trail which is breathtaking!! The house is actually located on the Schoodic bike trail which is much nicer than some of the more populated parts of Acadia. The scenery rivals any other in the world. At days end we congregated in front of the two-floor granite fireplace and played games or read books. The kitchen is perfect for larger families, plenty of room for more than one chef at a time. The owners have been very responsive to each question that has come up and always communicated quickly. I highly recommend Kevin and Sonia's home for your next Maine getaway. Truly Magical Getaway

We absolutely loved our time at Kevin and Sonia's property. The house was even more spectacular than the pictures portray. Kevin was great with answering all my questions prior to our trip, as well as when we arrived. The Kitchen was a chef's dream and had two sub-zero refrigerators which was amazingly helpful for our group of 10. Two of the days we drove to the Bar Harbor area (approx 1 hour 15 minutes away) for hiking in the main part of Acadia, but we saved the best for last when spent the last day hiking the Schoodic Peninsula which is literally right down the road from the house (and so much better than Thunderhole). We had happy hour in the gazebo/beach below the house each evening and it felt like we were the only ones there ---- so quiet and peaceful. Would stay here again in a NY minute -- it was just amazing!

House is stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. The view is right out of a book. We experienced tons of wildlife. (Bald Eagle, Seal, Turkeys, fish, and deer). It was the perfect location to see the blue moon.

Tremendous time Home appears just as advertised Comfortable/ gracious home literally on Birch Harbor walking/ Biking distance to little known Sparsely visited part of Acadia ( Schoodic Point ) that I far prefer to Cadillac MtN and Bar Harbor Very quiet and secluded Well appointed with Fine appliances for meal prep Cooking and in home dining ( need glass wine glasses and Steak knives) Master bedroom spectacular Queen and twin bedrooms with Own en-suite bathroom 1.2 hrs to BH and large grocer So come prepared Salt Box in neighboring Winter Harbor terrific for take out Look forward to next adventure at This beautiful sea side home

Beautiful house, spectacular location

If you are looking for a place with scenic beauty where you can disconnect from the world for a few days, this is it. The house is beautiful and the views are magnificent. A very short drive (or walk or bike ride) to the Schoodic Peninsula -- a quiet and secluded corner of Acadia National Park. An easy day trip to Bay Harbor. Will definitely want to come back.

Great Property for the "Maine Experience"

As a first time visiter to Maine, this property offered a perfect gateway to the state. It's a great home for a group of friends to spend a few days relaxing - great privacy from the tourist crowds in Bar Harbor without being too far removed from the action. Cleanliness and accommodations were first-rate, and we particularly enjoyed the beautifully-equipped kitchen for making family-style dinners each night. Perfect to eat on the deck and watch a beautiful sunset. Would stay again.

Absolute getaway vacation

Kevin and Sonia are excellent hosts! We had no issues during our stay, but Sonia still checked in to see if we needed anything and to make sure everything went smoothly! The pictures do not do this place justice as it is even more peaceful and stunning in person. We stayed here for my dads 60th birthday and it was incredible. Quiet secluded area in a small town with everything you need. So close to Acadia national park. Thank you Kevin and Sonia!

Beautiful House

A very nicely done property - pictures dont do it justice. Very nice common areas, large bedrooms, clean bathrooms, big kitchen and a pantry full of stuff, the outdoor area is amazing with the private beach (rocky but thats Maine), beautiful gazebo, great fire pit and a very large deck. Host was responsive over text. 1 hour away from Bar harbor and main Acadia attractions but very close to Schoodic point which is beautiful too. 3 minor suggestions: 1. Wifi connection didnt work in most rooms outside the living room. Probably need wifi range extenders. It mattered to us since one person in the party had to work. 2. The AC didnt work or wasn't turned on. We changed the thermostat temperature but it didnt change anything. It was unusually hot in Maine in July2020 and there were a couple of hours in the day when we wished for A/C. Living room fan helped. 3. The water pressure in the showers is low. To make matters worse, the shower head in the master bedroom was almost 7.5- 8 ft high - so my wife couldnt reach it and the defualt setting of the shower head was very low. Would definitely recommend fixing this for such a nice house. But overall a great experience and we would rent again.

Magical Maine Experience

We had a wonderful few days here. The house is uniquely situated on a beautiful rocky beach. Just watching the tides and changing lighting / weather from the deck or gazebo was an experience- and with the trails of Acadia a stone throw away, great biking and hiking at your doorstep! A truly magical place. Thank you Kevin and Sonia for being great hosts!
