Great cabin on the river

The hostess and I really connected. She thought of everything you might need. A bag of ice in the freezer and fresh flowers! The little things make a difference. The cabin is adorable and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. We will be back.

Wonderful, as always!

This was our 2nd stay at the Riverhouse, and we loved it again! Diane is the nicest person to work with, and the house has all you need for a comfortable getaway. The river is the star, though - such a beautiful spot! Hoping to come back again.

Fantastic getaway

We came here on family vacation and had a wonderful time. The cabin had everything you could think of, you just need food. Diane was a great hostess, checked in on us several times to make sure we had what we needed and suggested local attractions. Fishing off the dock wasn’t great, but we think it was just too hot, upper 90’s the whole week. My son did catch 2 trout one night. Very quiet getaway and just what this family needed!!! 5 stars all around!

White River House

Perfect little spot. Quiet, beautiful view of the river. Lots of hiking and biking close by - as well as fishing. Great brewery up the road making killer pizzas!

Great host

Loved the host, the luxurious bath towels and bedding, the super stocked kitchen, the beautiful deck, the clean house, and time spent with family. Some things in the house really need attention-kitchen cabinets, shower heads that wouldn't adjust, and aerators on all the sinks.

The property and location was exceeded expectations.

We had the most amazing experience. If you are looking for peace and quiet with excitement fishing this place is for you. Diane and local community were friendliest as can be. After a great day of fishing would go down to the dock and enjoy a beautiful sunset along the river. I highly recommend staying here you will not be disappointed.

Relaxing Stay

I think this property is a good option for a fishing weekend or just to relax with friends! The place was well stocked and is right on the river with a boat dock to either just fish from or launch your boat. Diane made sure everything was great for our trip! There are lots of things to do close by and several good places to eat. I plan to come back soon.

Just what we needed!

We so enjoyed our stay at The Riverhouse! The location could not have been more peaceful. Diane provided all of the items one would need for a stay and she was great with communication. We certainly appreciated and followed her recommendations for things to do and see in the area. Calico Rock has a quaint Main Street and a wonderful visitor’s center. There are also several things to do in Mountain View, a short and scenic drive south. We plan to return in the Fall to take in the colors! Thanks again, Diane, for a great stay!

Perfect getaway!

The house was exactly as described and beautiful! Everything you could need was already in the house and it was super comfortable! We loved the dock and the wildlife we saw including otters and eagles! Sadly, we didn't get to me our host Diane but she was in constant contact and super nice! We will be back for sure!

Rustic setting on the White River

Rustic cottage right on the bank of the White River. Very well stocked and lots of shade and a great view. Close to fishing, boating, and lots of shopping. Owner was easy to work with and attentive to our every need.

Thanksgiving Trip

We are in the process of building a house and were unable to host our adult children (who live out of state) in our home. We picked this rental property for our family Thanksgiving. To say that the owner went above and beyond would be an understatement! She made sure that I had EVERYTHING that I might need to make Thanksgiving dinner for my family. She turned what could have been a stressful time into a perfect family get together filled with food, fishing and lots of laughter. I highly recommend this property!

Me and my girlfriend came here for our anniversary and let me tell you, it was amazing. We both caught our limit of trout (little Cleo’s) work best. While you're out walking around you might get met by the cat (otter) he is the absolute most funny loving cat I’ve ever seen in my life, if Youre fishing at the dock he just wants to sit in your lap the whole time. It was a 10/10 stay and we will definitely be back

Beautiful Cabin

This is the perfect cabin if you are looking for a peaceful location. The boat dock is perfect if you bring your own boat. The towels and linens are very nice and the beds are so comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Excellent location as well!

Relaxing week away from home

The house has everything you need including everything you need to cook. Beautiful views directly on the river and with a private boat dock. We spent the majority of our time down there. Diane was a great host and stayed in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. It’s the perfect home away from home.

Visiting the White

Diane had the place fully stocked and ready for check in. Communication with her was easy and she was very attentive to our needs. The house is nice and clean but bedrooms could use a chest of drawers of some type. The walk to the river can be a little treacherous (especially when wet) and a power line was down that had to be carefully stepped over. We enjoyed the screened in porch very much!! Steps to front door could be a little slick as well especially when wet. We had our two Cavelier Spaniels and Diane is very ready for pets!! Dog bowls and towels are at the ready!! Getting to the house is not difficult but be prepared for a gravel road. It is secluded and that is part of the charm. While a few things could be improved this is a nice spot and Diane could not be more caring about what a guest might need. Would recommend without reservation!!!!!

Fun relaxing stay!

We really enjoyed our time in Calico Rock. Sunrise on the dock was perfect. During the day we explored nearby areas such as Mountain View, Norfork, Mountain Home, etc. We even ventured over to Branson for a day. Evenings were spent on the dock fishing. Definitely a peaceful trip!

Perfect river getaway!

We absolutely loved the Riverhouse and this beautiful spot on the White River! As other reviewers have already said, the house is so thoughtfully fitted out with so many things to make you feel at home and able to relax. Diane is the best hostess, and the nicest person you could ever want to work with, and we are already trying to figure out when we can come back!

I am a retired educator from Northeast Arkansas. We purchased the Riverhouse in 2012 and in 2013 purchased another house in the area.

The property can only be seen from the river unless you drive down the private drive. There are only 5 houses so it’s is a quiet neighborhood. The screened-in porch overlooking the river is my favorite place for morning coffee and relaxing in the late afternoon.

This property comes with its own private boat dock for parking your boat during your stay. Our guests enjoy fishing from the boat dock, watching the eagles fly over and the cows drinking and cooling off across the river from the pasture. There are not many boat docks on the White River in this area and one of the main reasons we purchased this property.
