Serious issues on our return.
There is a hidden charge for electricity, ours was £157 for 5 adults 1 week and 4 adults 2nd week. Don't pay. Not enforceable by VRBO.
Major issue was a charge for a broken pipe in the swimming pool pump room. We were asked how it happened and categorically denied any involvement. Still money taken from our credit card. My guess it was the pool maintenance company. Currently escalated it with VRBO and waiting satisfactory resolution. There is also a secondary issue of safety. The pump room key was left in the lock and could be accessed by anybody including children. There was lots of pipes, electric pumps and containers of hazardous chemicals for the pool and also herbicides and pesticides for the garden. Sharp tools wete also lying around, secateurs for example. The door should be locked and hazard signs posted.
There was no apparent alarm on the pool.
Another issue was the lack of gas. When the gas cylinder ran out we we told to buy one from the local supermarket and we would be reimbursed. That has not happened. There was no tools to change the gas. We queried with the host we were told "A wrench is not needed, you can hold on to the gas regulator to turn it." Very unsatisfactory and potentially very dangerous.
Overall a pleasant holiday spoilt by fighting to get our deposit refunded.
