Extremely disappointed with cleanliness
We were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and overall condition of this condo.
Kitchen drawers and cabinets had crumbs and expired food. There were crumbs behind appliances on the counter. The mattress pad and pillows were old and worn. Area rugs in the bedroom were stained on both sides.
Closets, bathroom cabinets and floors were full of clutter and very old left-over toiletries. There was a note to only use water to clean the floors (but no steam mop.). The master shower curtain and liner were old and dirty.
The hallway door and bathroom vents were caked with dust. There was clutter and an excessive buildup of dirt, dust and hair behind furniture. The patio door screen was in shreds. Some linens were stained and discolored.
We texted the owner to let her know how disappointed we were with the cleanliness and were told she would send her cleaning person over. We asked for a credit instead because I’d already spent hours cleaning. She said she could pay someone $100 to come back and would not give us a credit, but we could leave and she would give us a refund, which was not a viable option at that point. We held firm in respectfully expressing our disappointment; she texted that she was losing patience with us. We are VRBO owners and are very conscientious of how our property is presented to guests, deep-cleaning in the midst of and after every season, and replacing linens as needed annually. These are not tasks covered by a seasonal cleaning crew.
