Comfortable Home

Wonderful home away from home with plenty of space to relax, enjoy a meal and sip a glass of wine. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Stunning views of Tomales Bay. Didn't want to leave!

Perfect escape - Inverness paradise

Cannot wait to return. Just spend a long weekend in this beautiful and quiet home that is perched on the hills overlooking Tamales Bay. Absolutely spectacular. Very well equipped, and as mentioned in other reviews, tennis court is a nice bonus. Hardly wanted to leave the house since it was so nice to kick back and relax with a book and a glass of wine and a view. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Wonderful place!

We had an amazing time at Inverness, beautiful house and gorgeous area! The only thing that was a little annoying is that we had to set up the sleeper sofa ourselves - though we booked the house for a family of 4 with 2 teenage kids and arrived around 1 am in the morning. Other than that we had a wonderful stay.

Serene, Peaceful- Just What We Wanted and More

Fabulous property for a peaceful stay set in a forest of oak and pine trees. Our favorite feature was the outdoor deck overlooking Tómales Bay. Rustic but not rough… well stocked with so many elegant extras like complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate, wild lavender and lemon verbena hand soaps. We appreciated a focus on sustainability without sacrificing convenience. Wish we could have stayed longer to try the tennis court and kayak rentals close by. Definitely stop at The Inverness Park Market for excellent food options! Close to all Point Reyes attractions and hiking. Thank you to our hosts for sharing your gracious home!

Perfect for couples

We were looking for a quiet, tranquil getaway near nature but with all the comforts. We found it here and more. Great views, lovely location, and well designed and cozy cottage. Loved the tennis court. The only minor issue is the shower head angle is a bit odd since it points straight out the shower door and the shower door did not close properly. Easy fixes.

Beautiful and spacious home in a perfect location

We enjoyed the beautiful view, skylights, and peaceful setting. The location is close to some of the best hikes at Point Reyes, but is also just a short drive away from the Inverness Market with its fabulous breakfast burritos and sandwiches. What more could you ask for?

Wonderful

Great place to stay. The location is convenient to hiking trails, good restaurants, markets. Owners have thoughtfully provided for every need, comfortably furnished the house. Love sitting on the deck looking over the bay and listening to all the birds. Will be back soon!

Woodhaven Cottage

Cozy, warm, and clean, beautiful quiet area!

We arrived in the middle of a major storm and the first thing I noticed when I took my boots off were the radiant warmed floors and how comfortable it was. The house had a comfortable bed with plenty of linens, blankets, and pillows. Nicely decorated with art and rugs and touches that really made a cozy environment. I particularly enjoyed the yoga room. The next day was sunny and we enjoyed a drive down to the end of the National Seashore and dinner at the Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station. We stopped by the market for a few things and always a stop at the local bookstore. We have returned to the area at least 10 times. Would definitely stay here again. Attractive, well equipped house in nice location

My husband and I had a great stay in Woodhaven. We loved the house with its unique redwood walls and beamed high ceilings. Numerous skylights made for great natural light, too. The bathroom was attractive with the glass shower stall offering privacy but nice views as well. The kitchen was very well equipped for meal prep and the outdoor grill worked well, as did the washer/dryer in the large pantry/storage room. The bedroom had a very comfortable queen bed with good reading lights, a large closet and a chair. Views of Tomales Bay were available in most places in the house. We enjoyed the fireplace (easy to use eco-logs), and the tennis court (racquets and balls in the pantry). We had several dinners at the house, and two great experiences at Due West (next to Olema House) as well as fun, tasty lunches at Sidestreet (Pt Reyes Station) and Tony’s Seafood (Marshall). Weather was perfect for hiking at Chimney Rock and Abbott’s Lagoon. We hope to have another chance for a multi-day stay at Woodhaven.

Wonderful getaway!

Wood Haven was a perfect escape place for us. It was so cute and so comfortably furnished, with everything thought of to make guests feel at home. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked which makes meal prep a breeze. The rough redwood paneled walls make the whole place feel cozy. There’s even a view through the trees to Tomales Bay. The property manager was immediately responsive when we asked to come a day earlier than planned and later had a question about check out. We can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful stay in Inverness

We loved our getaway in this comfortable clean house up on the hillside above the bay. Perfect for two people who love to cook and want a quiet place to relax. Waking up to views of Tomales Bay from our comfy bed and hearing the birds right outside our window was such a sweet start to each day. We cooked all of our meals from the very well appointed (and clean) kitchen though there are some yummy restaurants nearby doing take out and outdoor dining during this time. We were happy some nights got chilly enough to sit in front of a cozy fire, but we were never chilly as the ceramic floors have radiant heat. Toasty! We loved that the TV is out of sight until you want it, and we never turned it on. We had a small issue arise and the property manager was super responsive and kind. And we met the owner of the home who is incredibly charming and pointed out some lovely walks for us to get better views of some birds we were seeking. 2 bald eagle sightings from the front of the house and from the deck over the water. Not bad :). She told us this home has been in their family for decades and it really does feel like a cared for family home. We look forward to returning. Just delightful all around. thank you for making our vacation so restful.
