Yearly family vacation
The home was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. (One of the best pots set too) The backyard was perfect with lots of seating beautiful sunny light and even some shade. The house came with bikes, the kids rode around the house with our dog chasing behind them while the adults sat on the porch drinking coffee ( provided by the house). Late nights were spend in the men-cave playing pool. The house is in a quiet spot very private an Excellent get away from the city. The community also offer paddle boats and other activities. Neil was a very sweet and called when I arrived and after I felt to wish me a safe trip. I hope to return next year.

Awful property!
Neil is awful! When we arrived to the property Rich the maintenance person greeted us and let us in. He was a very nice man. However, the property needs a lot of upgrading. The lights only had 1-2 bulbs in them in the whole house, dirty kitchen, dirty and broken shelves in the fridge. The bathroom rug had a fake eyelash stuck to it, the rooms upstairs smell moldy, the pool had green in it behind the ladder, the hot tub was scummy,the chairs outside were old and weathered. The grill caught itself on fire on first use becaus it was very dirty. Broken garbage everywhere.There was no outdoor shower as stated in the post, the bikes were mostly flat and didn’t work, the porch out front was very dirty and leaves everywhere, the deck upstairs overlooking th pool had old ripped chairs and a part of the deck was very soft and felt like your foot could go through. We put a table on the area and did not use the deck for safety reasons. The fireplace did not work, the large couch smelled like urine. The pictures in the post are not accurate. Neil prides himself on a masterpiece that he has however when you get there it’s not as posted. waited till the day I left to address most of the issues with Neil before I just left a bad review in case he was in aware of the situation as he did not greet us at check in. He however after sending him all the pictures I took decided to just get defensive and yell at me. Also stated if I leave a bad review he will “bar b que” me in his.Stay away!

Amazing stay
I have rented air b and bs for years all over the country and even international. It is VERY rare that I will see an air b and b as amazing as this place. The hospitality that these owners provide is out of this world. When you rent in the poconos you never get blanket, sheets etc included. These owners had the entire house filled with spare blankets, pillows, etc. An abundance of towels! They are SO thoughtful! We came on a very hot day and they already had all of the air conditions running in every room for us. The property manager was extremely friendly and so helpful! Genuinely down to earth individual who made us feel so welcome. The owners checked on us and made us feel secure. The house offered so much for us to do. Between the game room, pool and jacuzzi you can never be bored. We even rode bikes as a family which I can’t even remember the last time we ever did that. This house was a dream and I can’t wait for my family to return. Thank you Neil and Linda for a beautiful home stay!

Great Stay
Communication with Linda was excellent. Met Neil, nice man with some good stories. One of the AC units was not working properly and Neil went out and purchased one right away. Thanks Rich for coming over to install it on a Sunday. It was great having a pool, lots of room, plenty to do and good location.

It was a great experience to get away with family and friends! It was a great house to stay in when the 4 kids can really enjoy some group time and adults can enjoy the hot tub and great conversation.

Misleading
Unfortunately the house looks good in pictures but upon arrival it was dirty and smelled. Cobwebs throughout, mold on shower curtains, old expired food in refrigerator and freezers. Master bedroom lines where dirty and a contact lens was found under the sheets. Most of the outdoor chairs had been duct taped for use and were unsafe to use. A lot of clutter throughout and the couches are on there last leg. One even smelled of urine. It's a shame because if it was emptied and new furniture was placed and decluttered the location is fantastic.

Amazing first vacation
My family and I have never taken a vacation before. My husband, son (7), daughter (17 months), and I had an amazing time at this property!! Rich (the property manager) was super friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Neil and Linda were also always available to answer any questions we had. Everything was amazing, the house was perfect for us, and overall this was the best experience I think we could have had!!!

Perfect get-away
The house and features were all first rate. The beds in the house were excellent (can't have a good vacation without a good night's sleep!). The kitchen was VERY well-equipped, as were the outdoor areas. The hot tub, the pool and the patios were perfect for relaxing. Friendly deep came up to the house and ate apples from our hands (and especially from our grand-daughters' hands). I would recommend this location to any group - we were only seven with two kids, but larger groups would be very comforatable and happy here.

Lovely little property
My partner and I had a great time staying here during the pandemic, with the house being pretty nice overall but there were just some minor issues. Linda was very responsive and answered all my questions ahead of time, while Rich gave us a tour of the house when we arrived. We really enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, game cabin, outside table, and the quiet - there were plenty of blankets, soap, shampoo, lotion, towels, garbage bags, wifi, etc. However, the television didn’t work in the living room nor the master bedroom due to the previous renters unfortunately. The owners provided a binder full of information and menus for takeaway but we cooked every meal by choice and the kitchen was mostly stocked with utensils and cookware - I would suggest bringing your own knives though. There were three grills outside and we used one to grill burgers, but the grates were rusty and we had to clean them. We loved the hot tub outside especially since it was a bit cool weather and the shades around it were a nice touch but not all the jets worked. The game cabin has a smaller than standard pool table (still fun!) and a jacuzzi but the plug didn’t close all the way so we couldn’t enjoy it unfortunately. I believe the people who stayed right before we did messed some of these things up for the owners so I would still recommend this place.

Dirty and cluttered inside and out
Property was full of junk (inside and out). Dirty carpets covered with throw rugs. 10 bikes cluttering the front porch along with all kinds of wires making it impossible to sit there. Artificial Christmas tree in front yard in March! Wires everywhere in house. Have to walk thru one bedroom to get to another! No windows in 2 of the bedrooms. The place was full of cob webs. Ceiling fan laden with dust over dining table. Glass items in kitchen greasy. Bowl of rest area condiments on counter and bowl of coffee pods greasy and expired. Oven and stove dirty. Dead plants in kitchen and dead pine tree in living room next to the fireplace (hazard?)!!! Pots and pans were terrible. Photo's did not represent the property at all. The overall clutter both inside and outside was out of control. There must have been 8 coffee makers in house??? One bedroom actually had a toaster in it with no outlet!!! Chemicals and other junk stored in open next to hot tub (didn't dare use it). Very uninviting. 5 bbq grills (why?) and old dirty and broken outside furniture in the back yard, one chair was actually duct taped! I could go on but I wont. Would not recommend. BTW, I have never left or had to leave a poor review.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location.
Neil was a very hospitable host! The deer were amazing, even letting us hand feed them! Everything was as listed online. Would definitely stay there again.

Huge House & Cabin
Property has plenty of space to fit lots of people to include the cabin next door. All in all great bathrooms and lots of room in the living room. Neil was our host and was very helpful. Hot tub and pool, all within walking distance to the lake and amenities! I’ve stayed in loads of pocono places and had some terrible experiences like an advertisement saying they had 5 beds and then when checking in 2 of those beds were air mattresses that didn’t even work. Neils place was large enough for 14 of us to sleep comfortably and all have enough room to eat/cook 3 meals a day there (since we were there during the covid we didn’t go out too much). Only missing star is for cleanliness, we found that there was a strange odor to the living room, but we opened up the windows and had some air fresheners there to help out.

Mini vacation
The property was very Nice! Nice location in a nice neighbor centrally located to attractions, shopping etc. The home was nice my only complaint was there was a odd smell. That being said I do believe that it came from a leak that had happened early in the day on our check in which Neil had told us about and had attempted to resolve. Did have one issue with a sink leaking which Neil promptly resolved. Neil was very responsive to questions, etc.

The worst rental ever
The owner was a creep he was racist and he constantly came pass the house he ask me to water his plants and I refused he had a gun on premises when we arrived he was swimming in the pool with his underwear on at least they was suppose to be on he actually stayed there for an hour in a half talking and making racist jokes

Absolutely great property
I was greeted by Neil the owner the day I arrived. He was so polite and gracious. He showed my family and I around. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with the house and other amenities. The house is large and very comfortable. I traveled with 18 people and we fit comfortably. The pool was so great for the kids. It is large and very clean. The backyard has a lot of space and seating. The grill Was great we used it the whole time we were there. The hot tub is also a great addition. We had access to a washer and dryer. The property has Televisions in every room. The wildlife is just a great added bonus. We had deers coming by daily I also don’t want to forget to mention the honeymoon cabin. Which is a great addition to the property. The couple who stayed there had absolute privacy with a jacuzzi, small kitchen. Bathroom and other amenities. If you want a place to go with your family and have a great time this is it.

quiet neighborhood near lake
Our favorite aspect of this rental was the beautiful wooded neighborhood. Deer, bunnies and chimp-monks regularly visited us. The owner is friendly; he stayed for about an hour telling us stories when we checked in. They provide plenty of coffee of all kinds, and it was lovely to have a hot tub right out the back door. The home has been recently renovated and painted, and there is a TV and a window air conditioner in just about every room. The living room is very comfortable- we were traveling as a family of 8 and it's rare to have comfortable seating for everyone such as this. The dining room, on the other hand, is quite cramped. They have put in seating for 12 in the dining room, but unfortunately because there are so many chairs you can only pull out 4 chairs at a time. Fortunately there is also a dining table outside. The swim club is indeed lovely, and a short bike ride from the house. Yes, there are a lot of rules at the club, as other renters have mentioned. These do not come from the landlord, Neil, but from the club. Everyone where you look at the club there is a sign that starts with "NO". There is a clear distinction between renters and "property owners" in terms of privileges, for example renters cannot go into the club after hte pool closes. Only renters wear paper wrist bands, which made us feel conspicuous. All the rules made us feel quite unwelcome, but we were undeterred and enjoyed the pool, the private beach, and the paddle boats. We also went to the nearby state park (which also has a lovely beach) and to Historic Jim Thorpe.

I (Neil MacMorrow) have been renting furnished apartments for more than 20 years in both NYC and Philadelphia. This is my latest property and I look forward to accommodating guests to this one-of-a-kind house. Most of my adult life was spent in Europe after growing up in Connecticut and going on to Boston for my college education.

I chose this property due to all the ammenities the community has to offer. In addition, I frequented the area of Jim Thorpe twenty years ago and fell in love with the village because it reminded me of Europe. This new property that I purchased and will be renting is close to Jim Thorpe as well as other attractions.

The property is very unique and offers a comfortable and relaxing stay to all who enter. The house will not only give guests a "homeaway", but also a "back to nature" feeling. The Pocono Mountains offer beautiful scenic views, as well as fresh air to breathe. Also, The Pocono Mountains tend to be 10 degrees cooler than the city.
