Absolutely Wonderful

My wife and I had such a great time staying here. Property was tucked away but less than 30 mins from downtown Hilo and even closer to Volcano Park. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay on the east side of the Island.

Cozy getaway

Recently spent a week here, exactly as advertised. Immaculate, private, with everything you will need for your stay. Especially enjoyed the private forested area. Greg was very respectful of our privacy, and was very responsive to any questions. Would recommend this authentic Hawaiian accommodation!

Lovely cabin in the woods, close to Volcanoes Nat'l Park and other fun stuff!

This is such a lovely cabin!! We stayed two nights and it was a great jumping off point for exploring the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Greg was excellent about communicating instructions on how to get in, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, etc. and had the place very well kept and well-stocked for a comfortable stay. I would recommend that folks plan to arrive before dark--while the property was easy to find with Greg's instructions and it is well lit, some of the roads to get there are dark and not well-marked. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely property! We'll look for you again next time we visit!

A lovely time

We really enjoyed our stay at Greg's cabin and felt right at home. His location is great if you're trying to do things on the Hilo/Pahoa side of the island, not to mention proximity to Volcano National Park. Greg was helpful and communicative, but never intrusive, so he really did a great job as host.

The host made sure that everything was ready for our arrival and the cabin was stunning and quaint. Loved being away from the hustle and bustle and our in the woods. The bedroom, kitchen, and living areas were nicely furnished and the extra amenities that were provided were much appreciated. Would absolutely recommend for people looking to be out in nature and away from others.

Hilo area stay was great

We stayed at Greg’s cabin for 4 nights while visiting and exploring the Hilo side of the Big Island. It was a very comfortable space, in a quiet neighborhood, close to everywhere we wanted to visit. Communication with Greg was easy and responsive. Highly recommended.

Perfect sized "tree house" fro 2 in the rainforest close to Volcano National Park. Really comfortable bed, coqui frogs to sing you to sleep and great hosts!

Peaceful rainforest retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed the four days we spent at Greg's property. Listening to the birds and frogs, and occasionally the rain on the metal roof, was a real treat. The host has clearly put effort into creating a comfortable, inviting space. While on vacation in Hawaii, our goal is to be out and about, but the space was enjoyable for our evenings and mornings, so we took pleasure in eating in and chilling out here. Also: the mattress was also super comfortable. Highly recommended. And thanks, Greg, for being part of making our a winter getaway 100% amazing.

Rainforest Getaway

The spacious cabin is in a great, peaceful location for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the east side of the Big Island. The forest views are wonderful, and the bird calls in the morning and frog chorus at night add to the tropical feel. Greg was a helpful, communicative host, and provided everything we needed for our stay.

Perfectly Situated

Spot is perfectly situated between the park and Hilo, so it’s a great base of operations. Very secluded and quiet, and has a real rainforest vibe. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Country Setting

Perfect accommodations halfway between Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Hilo. We spent 11 nights and enjoyed everything about the roomy, country style cabin with the wonderful landscaped outdoor space. Very secure setting. Greg the owner was very helpful with information on everything from supermarkets to snorkeling. Coqui frogs were in perfect pitch!

Excellent and Comfortable

We were able to squeeze a quick trip to the Big Island during our Hawaii visit for a helicopter tour and hiking for 1 day. Greg was an excellent host and the Tree House was so comfortable and welcoming! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay a little longer than the 2 nights and 1 day!

Terrific place for a visit to Volcano NP, Hilo and Puna area. Fantastic property!

Everything about this rental was exceptional. Good communication, good instructions, great location. Very quiet, forest location halfway between Volcano NP and Hilo (15 minute drive to Volcano has you there before the crowd). The rental is immaculate and you can tell the owner takes special pride in the cabin. Very enjoyable 4 day stay. Highly recommend.

Quiet little cottage in the middle of the forest

My husband and I loved our stay at the treehouse cottage! It was exactly what we were looking for since we were visiting family in the area. Greg was great at communicating where everything was and was available if we needed anything. Beautiful place!

Beautiful and quiet.

The location is perfect. Far enough away to feel secluded and peaceful yet close to all the popular east big island attractions. Absolutely love drinking a hot cup of coffee in the early morning hours listening to all the rain forest birds. The ground level seating area is perfect to escape the occasional rain or enjoy the shade on a warm Hawaiian afternoon.

Self check-in. Unique island experience. Hawaiian style construction with modern amenities. Recently renovated. Great view of Mauna Kea. Easy access to Hilo, volcanos, black sand beach and Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and many other attractions. Owner/Host lives on the property next door, but there is plenty of distance and forest dividing the properties to give guests complete privacy. Easy parking right in front of the cabin. Well maintained.
