Zweigeschossige, 1.278 sf-Kabine mit teilweise frei stehender Garage, Pferdehof * (Korral wird hoffentlich Ende September '18 fertiggestellt) mit angrenzendem Korralschuppenraum. Diese "Island in the Sky" liegt 89595 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel und bietet eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf das Quartz Creek Valley, umgeben von Aspen Hainen, in der Nähe von Quartz Creek und atemberaubenden Ausblicken auf "over Timberline Peaks". Das ist wirklich "Rocky Mountain High"!

Es gibt eine große überdachte Terrasse, die sich über die gesamte Breite der Vorderseite des Hauses nach Osten erstreckt. Sowohl die Sonnenaufgänge als auch die Sonnenuntergänge sind von der Art und Weise, wie diese Hütte auf dem Grundstück liegt, mitten im Quartz Creek Valley, vollständig erfahren.

Clean, Cozy, and Comfortable Cabin

Cabin is as advertised. Great location, clean, plenty of parking, and enough room for six adults, food, and gear. Beds were comfortable and the bunkbeds were larger than expected. Plenty of hot water and the entire cabin stayed warm even on cold evenings. Communication with the host was easy, check in and check out were straightforward, and we never experienced any issues. Would recommend, as this is a nice cabin for a Colorado mountain getaway.

Beautiful Setting

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Island in the Sky. The drive to the property was so pretty and only a short 24 minutes from Gunnison. We loved sitting on the porch and watching for wildlife and listening to the coyotes howl. The hummingbirds let us know how upset they were that their feeders were empty. My granddaughter loved reading all the children's books. The bunk beds were full size and larger than expected for bunks. That room also had its own bath making it a great spot for my daughter and her family to have their own space. The only thing I would say as a negative is that I expected shampoo, conditioner and bodywash so I didn't pack that and it wasn't provided. But, that was not a big deal. I just wish I had known ahead of time so I could have planned for that. Oh, and we couldn't find a cheese grater. But, otherwise the house was well stocked and very comfortable. We were in the area for my other daughter's wedding celebration.The host was so generous and accommodating allowing space for the two families to get to know each other in this great space. I am so grateful and would definitely recommend this home for your next visit to the area.

Great Place to Celebrate

We celebrated my sons graduation. Enough room for a few friends and family. Horse shoe pits were a bonus. A fire pit was the only thing that would have made it better.

Great place to stay with family or friends

I stayed here with 5 other guys for a dirt bike riding trip. The house was beautiful and slept the 6 of us very comfortably. The kitchen is very well stocked. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Will be staying here again

Peaceful Getaway

This property is exactly as is said it was. I struggle staying outside our home because of cleanliness but this place was perfect. The bed was super comfortable, best night sleep in awhile. There was a siren that went off one night at 10 pm that we can had no clue what it was for. In Wisconsin it means a tornado so we didn’t know what to expect out there. The location was a little far from where we needed to be but that was our own fault. We went for the purpose of fishing all the rivers were low. Thanks for the great experience.

Island in the Sky getaway

We have family that has cabins in the area so we chose to stay here but it was the best decision! We loved hanging out on the porch at night and looking for wildlife and at the stars. The owners family leaves nearby and it was great to have them close if we had any problems and we enjoyed meeting them! Thank you for a great stay in Ohio City!

Quiet location with easy access to many areas.

We enjoyed our stay at “Island in the Sky”! It was a great location for our family. We rode UTV’s daily in many areas around Ohio City. The parking was great for us with our trucks a trailers. The kids enjoyed tether ball and the adults loved coffee on the porch in the mornings and evenings out under the stars. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Scott & Kim, Really enjoyed our stay at your cabin! We had 5 adults, plenty of room. Would like to have met you, I might suggest a couple of things we ran across, the kitchen faucet swivel seals leak, sprayed water on the window, we wrapped a cup towel around it to prevent that, the smoke detector battery in the bedroom beeping, took it down and set it outside for the night, and the vanity faucet in the downstairs bath, screen must be partially plugged water sprays outside sink. But we had a GREAT Time. Thanks Again! David

Christmas getaway

The space was perfect for our family. We had 9 total down to a 1 year old. Private & quite area, close and easy to go get groceries and eat out in town. Baby gate, pack and play and high chair. There was lots of snow and enjoyed a few ski days at Monarch. My wife is an amazing cook and was ecstatic with how well stocked the kitchen was. The grandkids played out in yard for hours everyday for hours. Felt extremely safe. Wifi was very good. We brought a smart TV with us. No complaints. Want to visit again in summer and explore the creek not even 100yards behind then cabin. In the area we saw Elk, big horn sheep, LOTS of mule deer and rabbits.

My wife (Kim) & I have been married since 1972 & have been coming to Ohio City (from Santa Cruz, CA) since 1976, initially for hunting. It has since turned into a family retreat/reunion area and our families descend every-other year (around the 4th of July) on this small piece of paradise to celebrate our lives together (there are four other cabins nearby that have become an integral part of this experience). It has become a family tradition and the "best vacation ever", providing memories for multiple generations for years to come.
