Die Balcomb Family Cabin wurde 1910 erbaut und macht seither Familienerinnerungen.

Diese urige Hütte verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss. Das Familienschlafzimmer enthält eine Königin und drei Doppelbetten. Das zweite Schlafzimmer enthält ein Doppelbett. Bäder auf jeder Etage machen das Auffrischen zum Kinderspiel. Waschmaschine und Trockner im Bad im Erdgeschoss helfen, jeden Sand frei zu halten, wenn sie nicht am Strand sind.

Es gibt einen unzuverlässigen Fernsehempfang. Die Kabine ist mit einem DVD-Player und mehreren Vintage-Filmen bestückt.

Großer Garten ist ideal für eine Partie Badminton oder Spielzeit für die Kinder.

Der Strand ist einen Block entfernt, die Nachbarschaft Zugang ist nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt.

Das Hotel liegt 2 Meilen südlich von Rockaway Beach-in der Nähe von familienfreundlichen Restaurants, Antiquitäten und Parks.

Better than advertised

This house fits into the region perfectly and was a wonderful place for our stay at the Oregon coast. I stayed here for a few weeks with my 9 year old boy and 7 year old girl. The house is nicer than it looks in the photos and provided us a wonderful taste of life at the coast. The beach is extremely close and the town is just a very short drive away. Near lots of other small towns and many state parks/nature attractions worth exploring, too! Cons: there's a lighthouse about a mile away that beeps every 20 seconds, almost all night and day! It can be fairly loud, depending on the direction of the wind. Took us awhile to be able to sleep through it in the mornings. I also recommend sharpening ot updating the kitchen knives, they were hard to use due to dullness.

Great location and the house has everything you need. Great beach to walk on! The living room furniture wasn’t comfortable for my 90 year old mom but if you aren’t sitting around a lot it’s ok.

Beautiful family vacation

Our stay was great. We stayed a total of 11 nights and enjoyed every second of it. The house is cozy and a cute beach house. The 5 min walk to the beach made going to the beach a breeze and meant we could go often. Thank so much for sharing your home with us. We cant wait to come back again.

Cozy and comfortable

We really enjoyed out stay here. It's an old house but it's clean and has lots of charm. We really liked the location as it's not in the hustle and bustle (like Cannon Beach) but close enough to good shopping and restaurants and nearby towns. Rockaway beach is a very nice beach that is not at all crowded. Just a mile walk to the south gets you to a rock jetty with lots of creatures to looks at. We received the instructions prior to arrival and everything went very smoothly. We would definitely stay here again and the price was fair.

Cozy at the Beach

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean & comfortable. .Quiet, too. Nicely appointed kitchen. Didn't use the heat stove or TV for movies. Company of our friends took our time. I'd love to stay again! Hedi was a great host. Bedrooms are upstairs so pack accordingly. Not a problem for us. Good times.

Relaxing getaway

Loved the location of this property and it’s proximity to the beach and other little towns along the coast. I took a walk on the beach every morning I was there as it’s just about a 3 minute walk. The local train passed by the house daily so that was a fun bonus. House was clean and had great water pressure for showers.

Lovely Stay

The home was perfect. I loved the cottage, vintage feel. It felt incredibly homey. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The home is a very short distance to the beach. My partner and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood in the evenings. The neighborhood is super quiet and peaceful. Hedie is one of the sweetest hosts ever. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future. :)

Amazing experience!

First impressions I thought my family and I were going to be a little cramped (4 kids and 3 adults) in this 2 bedroom house but looks are deceiving! This home has plenty of space and is very charming and cozy. Short walk to the beach. Very friendly neighbors and plenty to do around. We traveled a few days but mostly spent our vacation at the house. It was wonderful! Will definitely book again!

Great little spot

Great little spot to spend your time on the Oregon coast. Rockwaway beach is great, but it is also a great location to discover all the amazing spots on the northern coast. it's a little 100 year old cabin, but well taken care of with all it's quirks and charm. Hope to come again.

Welcoming with All the Extra Touches of Home

It takes a special generosity to open one’s home to strangers. We appreciate all the extra touches you added for us to be comfortable and feel at home. We had the unique opportunity to experience the famous Rockaway Beach July 4 celebration, parade, and Firecracker Wiener Nationals! We especially appreciated the instructions so that we could easily take a brief walk to the wonderful nearby expansive beach! This stay also enabled me to do a book signing at Beach Crafters shop for my three Dachshund Tall Tales books. We had excellent customer service and a delicious meal at the Sanddollar restaurant. And ate Tillamook ice cream every single day at the Sea Breeze Icecream shop!

Terrific snug, cozy cabin, with a couple of issues

We so enjoyed ourselves here! It was my husband and I and our 2 adult children for Thanksgiving. The weather was mostly rainy, but we did get out to the beach a few times. It’s just a block away, then a short walk through some trees. No steps! This isn’t a cliff. The layout of the cabin is wonderful, with large eat-in kitchen and laundry/bathroom right by the back door. Wood stove in the living room and wood in the bin outside. So many windows and lots of light, with 2 window seats - one in the kitchen, used with the table, and the other in the living room with lots of cushions. The kitchen has plenty of utensils and casserole dishes, plates, etc. Important for our large dinner! (I did bring our own roaster and pie plates). Lots of games and puzzles. Plus a card table. DVDs for old TV series and movies - nostalgia. Lots of seating in the living room (loveseat, rocker, 2 armchairs). Unfortunately, the armchairs and small cushioned rocker have very sunken seats. They are in need of refurbishing. Nice wood stairs to the 2 bedrooms. But the mattress in the master bedroom is very dipped in the middle and should be replaced. It was difficult for a couple not to be squashed together and it made getting in and out difficult (plus some sore backs). The 2 beds in the other room were fine. Nice bathroom upstairs. LOTS of towels and extra blankets! Oh - for anyone considering that upstairs bench for extra children, know that it’s not as wide as a couch and is fairly high off the ground. Overall, we were warm and cozy the entire time. We enjoyed ourselves. There’s an old-growth cedar forest trail just up the road. From the living room window-seat we could see the decorated Holiday train going past. The WiFi worked fine. But don’t try to order a fire stick from Amazon, hoping it will get there! This address is not within the post office capability. And a note on that - be sure to look at the map on the listing before driving out here! It is on the beach side of the highway, 1 1/2 miles south of Rockaway Beach. When you drive over the railroad tracks, you’re looking for 2nd St. Forget that Google insists it’s 2nd Avenue, the street signs are 1st, 2nd, 3rd STREETS. We only wish the furnishings had been a bit more refreshed and it would have been perfect. This has been a well-loved home and we’re certain many happy memories were made here.
