Perfect family getaway!

When the listing says "unparalleled views", they are not exaggerating! It was a stunning weekend on the North Shore! The place was incredibly clean, and the kitchen was awesome! Communication with the host was great - super detailed information, and always promptly responded to any questions we had! I would book this trip again in heartbeat!

Perfect location and great view

This was our second stay in this house. Everything was perfect again! Plenty of space and decks with great views of Lake Superior. Near state parks and hiking. I've recommended to several friends planning vacations to the North Shore. Great communication with the owners too.

This home has stellar natural light, and stunning views of the lake. The rooms were all comfortable and clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend! Easy access to nearby hiking was also a huge plus.

Everything regarding this property was perfect. The view from the house and decks were gorgeous. An open floor plan made it nice for our family of 7. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The beds were very comfortable. The close proximity to many outdoor activities made it convenient. I would book again if in the area.

Wonderful Retreat

Great Accomodations!

We loved our stay here. This home is truly beautiful and the view is extraordinary. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We explored the wonderful North Shore during the day, and cooked our meals in the well appointed kitchen during the evening. Then, of course, you can enjoy the food while gazing out at Lake Superior. We had a marvelous time!

Beautiful view

Our stay was very nice! comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, and a beautiful view! It was nice to have a highchair provided for our granddaughter as well. I was worried about the steep driveway but it did not pose a problem for either of our vehicles, an SUV and a sedan.

What a view!!!!

This is a quite retreat for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of life. Beautiful view of Lake Superior, no neighbors, woodsy, clean, and well stocked. It is close to the Splitrock lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls, which we enjoyed very much. After a cold hike, warming up with the fireplace and coffee was just the ticket. I would recommend this place if you really want to relax.

What a view!!

You could spend your entire vacation sitting on the various decks watching Lake Superior the view is that amazing from the house!! Stunning View!

We came to northern Minnesota for a family vacation, during peak season to see the changing of the leaves. My husband, our four children, and my sister with her husband, stayed a total of 5 nights. We were able to see northern lights during our stay and that was absolutely gorgeous as well. The driveway for us was not necessarily hard but I would advise other guests just to turn your traction control off. We had a Kia van and did it no problem. My sister and her husband had a four wheel drive Jeep and they definitely did not have issues. As long as you do the drive as recommended you should not have a problem! The view from the house was stunning and I will highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We could not have asked for better weather during our stay the beginning of October.

Great location & Incredible views

This property is a perfect location to explore the North Shore. The deck is lovely & we loved spending our mornings and evenings enjoying the amazing views the deck offered. The house was clean & the kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The only downside was the king bed in the master bedroom is terribly uncomfortable & in definite need to be replaced. You only get 1 bath towel per guest with no washer available, so I would recommend bringing extra bath towels.

Summer Breeze

The property sits atop a bluff with an incomparable view of the lake. The days typically begin with a breathtaking sunrise. Drives of fewer that 10-minutes north or south on Hwy 61 take you to both common hike and natural wonders, as well as to sites less commonly frequented. The house itself is so completely appointed that I can't imagine anyone or combination of "anyones" not finding exactly what they need at this hill-top hideaway. Beautiful.

Perfect Home Base for Our Special Weekend

My new husband and I and a few of our friends rented this place for our Wedding weekend on the gorgeous Minnesota North Shore. Let me just say the house and the views were absolutely breathtaking! It's very cozy and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The kitchen was great for cooking our own meals. The deck perfect for star gazing. We even saw the northern lights one night! It's conveniently located close to a number of great sightseeing locations and was honestly the perfect home base for us. We are happy to be home after a long weekend away but we definitely miss the lake views and the beautiful sunrises. I have no doubts we'll be back and will look to book Gull Rock Ridge on our next trip as well.

Year No. 2... and still Great!

The property sits atop a bluff overlooking the Lake. Sunrises are gorgeous. The night sky is filled with stars and is a breathtaking sight with which to end the day. The property is well appointed, with every possible amenity you could want. The property is also well maintained, which alleviates concerns renters might otherwise have. Although the property sits high above Hwy 61, traffic noise is audible, but rarely more than a minor annoyance. A perfect destination for families, close to three State Parks and an easy drive back to Two Harbors or north to Grand Marais. The owners/property managers are kind, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have. dsa

Labor Day Weekend

The house is beautiful. When we arrived, the house was very hot inside. We opened windows and used fans, which helped, but we had a couple elderly family members which didn’t do well with the house temperature and we all could have used air conditioning. There are mice digging under the flashing house at the edge of the main deck - the pole nearest the patio door. They have created quite a mess of chewed debris piled by the pole. The mice scamper across the deck mostly in the evening but we saw them during the daylight as well. The upstairs toilet seemed to be leaking from the back causing some standing water behind the toilet. We appreciated the lengthy and detailed communication before our arrival on directions and other information. That was very helpful.
