Dieses klassische amerikanische Haus mit vier Plätzen wurde vor 100 Jahren gebaut, ist aber innen und außen brandneu! Mit modernen und neuen Geräten und einem neuen Heizungs- und Lüftungssystem ist dieses Haus die perfekte Basis für Ihren Urlaub!

Die Küche verfügt über Granitplatten und Küchengeräte aus Edelstahl sowie viele kleinere Utensilien wie eine Kaffeemaschine / Keurig und einen Crockpot. Das Familienzimmer verfügt über einen großen Smart-TV mit Kabelanschluss und eine beeindruckende Bibliothek mit DVDs. Viele bequeme Möbel und viele Brett- und Kartenspiele warten auf Sie! Im Erdgeschoss gibt es ein großes WC und eine Waschküche mit einer großen Waschmaschine und einem Trockner.

Im Obergeschoss hat der Meister ein französisches Bett, ein Vollbad, einen schönen Kleiderschrank und einen Fernseher. Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügt über ein Queensize-Bett, einen Kleiderschrank und einen Fernseher und teilt sich ein Vollbad mit dem dritten Schlafzimmer, das über ein Doppelbett und einen Fernseher verfügt.

Basierend auf der Anzahl der Schlafzimmer / Betten empfehlen wir, dass das Haus bequem 7 Personen beherbergt (wir haben jedoch zwei Einzelbetten), die auf Anfrage vor Ihrem Aufenthalt zur Verfügung stehen, wenn Sie ein paar weitere Gäste unterbringen müssen.

Das ganze Haus hat eine großartige WiFi-Verbindung und es gibt viele Steckdosen für alle Ihre Geräte! Der erste Stock besteht ausschließlich aus Hartholz mit Ausnahme von Keramik im Bad und in der Wäsche, und der obere Stock ist mit Teppich ausgelegt.

Draußen gibt es eine schöne überdachte Veranda mit Schaukelstühlen vorne und einen privaten Garten mit einer Feuerstelle hinten.

This place was perfect for a weekend getaway at the beach. There was plenty of space for a family of 6 and the house was well appointed. Kitchen had all the basics for cooking. The location was great- 10 min walk to the beach or an easy drive with parking available. Would definitely recommend it!

Cute home and convenient location to park & beach

We have stayed here for two years in a row now & love this location right next to the park. It’s an easy golf cart ride to the beach as well! We also love the convenience of the outdoor shower. The house & shed had everything we needed for our week at the beach! The owners were very helpful and responsive.

Comfortable, nicely appointed, well-done restoration

Really enjoyed our stay for our first visit to Cape Henry. Loved looking through the book detailing the restoration of the building. The location worked well for us - just about a block from the central park, and an easy walk to the beach or all the shops and restaurants downtown. Jim was excellent with communication, check-in could not have been easier. So many nice things included with this property, pretty much anything anyone could need and more. Very happy with our stay, if we make it back to town we'll be looking at this property first.

Relaxing week

Charming and clean house. Felt like home from the moment we walked in. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Our 6 year old grand daughter loved the books and toys that were available for her. We spent most of our time on the back yard/patio area and at the nearby beach.

Great Cape Chuck stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Woodchuck! The home is exactly as advertised and well-appointed for a comfortable getaway. The upstairs temperature trends warmer than the first floor...we were there when the nights turn cool, so cracking a bedroom window did the trick. Owners were super with communication. With a golf cart (rented from a nearby business), it's an easy trip to downtown and most anywhere you'd want to go.

Great house

My family (2 adults, 2 children) had an excellent stay at this house. It is just as advertised - spacious, newly renovated, and spotlessly clean,. Well stocked with linens, dishes, and all other essentials. The large TV, with its various apps, all worked well. Check-in was very easy. Owner was very responsive. While the house is slightly outside what some might consider the tourist core of Cape Charles, and in an area where every third house looks dilapidated (this is a juxtaposition found throughout town), it's a close enough walk to the main street, the beach, and to my kids' delight, the excellent Central Park and playground. Would stay here again.

Wonderful home base in Cape Charles

All the old charm and convenience of the Cape Charles historic district with a recent renovation. Spacious, open first floor with a well appointed kitchen. Plenty of board games and toys for a rainy day. On the 2nd floor, there are super comfortable mattresses in the 2 larger bedrooms. Good A/C throughout. Outside, the fire pit is great for smores. Shady trees and a big yard are great for after dinner play. East-facing front porch is a plus (cooler, shadier in evenings). The only minor drawback is that the outdoor shower isn't enclosed, so it's just for rinsing off not full showers. Amazing house. We hope to be back next year!

Wonderful home

We came done to see an old friend that had some health issues. The house was perfect for us, clean, spacious, in a good neighborhood very quiet and yet close to everything. The bedrooms were perfect as well as the rest of the house. It had everything that we needed to have a lovely few days without any stress involved. Everything that we needed in terms of appliances, cooking and serving supplies, TVs, outdoor entertainment and ample parking. The home was easily accessible to a few friends that stopped for short visits. All in all it was a very successful trip back down to the Shore allowing us to see our friend along with a few others that we had know over the years while living there before moving back up North. I highly recommend the home for business , pleasure or for attending an event requiring a stay over We went to the Garden Tour that Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it then out to dinner in one of the many restaurants available on the Shore. Perfect beach trip!

I am so glad that I chose this beach house. It has everything we need (including a highchair and baby spoons, and beach toys, scooters!). It is clean and close to the beach. Cape Charles beach is less tidal than Virginia Beach or OBX, where I had to stay alert every second as I had young kids with us. Here, we are much more relaxed as the water is shallow and tranquil. I just cannot ask for more. BTW, the playground nearby was a hit too for my three kids. Jim and Rebecca are responsive and accommodating. You can see they care about the visitor's experience. They want you to feel at home. We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday - Jim and Rebecca left us a lovely happy birthday note with snacks - how sweet! I also love the little album introducing before and after of the house. My 8yo boy cried before we left because he didn't want to leave. And we promised him we would come back next summer!! Thank you, Jim and Rebecca, for making our family trip unforgettable.

Everything You Need in a Home Away from Home

We went to Cape Charles for a wedding and had a great time! The home has everything a family needs for a home away from home--even a potato peeler! The fact that I didn't have to bring everything with me or buy something I'd only use once, was great. The owners really have thought of everything! The only two 'issues' are small and easily addressed. First, the house is warmer upstairs. I didn't dare touch the thermostat (looked too complicated). Downstairs was really cold and upstairs several degrees warmer. The ceiling fans in the rooms help a lot. Maybe change the filter in the upstairs vent in the hallway or have an HVAC person make sure the venting is clear. Second, the cleaning crew should take care to remove the big spider webs as you come down the stairs and in the corners of most rooms. A quick flick of a Swiffer and problem solved. THANK YOU for creating such a lovely space for my family!

Second time staying

This was our second time staying in this home. It was excellent, as usual. Clean house, well stocked kitchen, and convenient amenities (shed, outside shower, patio, etc.). Owner even provided things like beach toys, chairs, beach towels, cart, two bikes, and fishing rods. Only a few blocks from the beach. Pleasant neighbor, quiet street, and space for kids to run around. Owner was easy to get a hold of….. responsive and easy going. Would love to stay here again!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

This is our first year offering this vacation rental at 535 Plum Street. We purchased the home in November 2016, went through the historic district board review for approvals before work could commence. Work began April/May 2017 and officially finished in December 2017 with minor changes occurring through April 2018 (furniture). We are happy with the end results and we know you will find the home just as comfortable for your family as we find it for ours.

In the back you will find a deck with patio furniture (cushions in the shed) and a fire pit. The shed offers a charcoal grill, beach gear, a cooler and two bikes (bring your own helmet). There is an outdoor shower on the side of the house to rinse off the sand before coming inside.

We are just a few easy walking (or biking!) blocks from the beach or even to the shops on Main Street. We are very near the park and children's play area.

Free WiFi is provided and a smart TV with Roku (using your own account) a blue-ray player is available with a collection of movies.

A Graco Pack 'n Play (with bassinet) for infant sleeping, High Chair with a splash mat for underneath, and a few child dishes are available.

Bedrooms: 2 with queen size bed, 1 with bunk bed - twin over a double. Air Mattress are available upon request (advanced notice). Linens are new!

There are a full washer and dryer in the laundry room and and rack to hang your wet clothes to dry.

In the family room there are a few board/card games and a full size checkerboard on the game table.

Just a few reminders - follow the speed limit signs as they are truly enforced! Also be sure to park your car by BACKING IN on the angled parking on Mason Avenue.

There are some great shops and restaurants both in Cape Charles and around. We hope you enjoy your stay in the quaint "Mayberry" town of Cape Charles as we do.
