Zu Fuß zum Einkaufen, gutes Essen, Skifahren, Wandern und vieles mehr. Nur einen Schritt vor der Tür, um die Schönheit und den Charme von Crested Butte.

Kates Place im historischen Viertel in 413 Maroon Ave., nur einen Block von der Hauptstraße befindet. Kates Place to Crested Butte Stück für Stück im Jahr 1922 ausgeliefert wurde, als Bausatz Hause eines original Montgomery Ward. Es wurde von einem lokalen Bergmann errichtet und auf einem Berg Steinfundament gebaut. Das Haus ist nach Kate Starika, die in der Heimat als Witwe für mehr als 60 Jahren lebte. Im Jahr 1990, Kathy und Doug kaufte das Haus und restaurierte es viktorianischen Charme. Das Haus wurde durch den Verwaltungsrat der Zonierung und Architectural Review als bestes Beispiel für historische Renovierung im Jahr 1990 abgeschlossen anerkannt.

"Wir haben versucht, so viel von der historischen Integrität wie möglich zu halten", sagte Doug, "die Renovierung war eine Arbeit der Liebe." Die Innen- und Außenfarbe und Wandverkleidungen alle spiegeln die Häuser victorian Anfänge. Wie viel von der ursprünglichen Holzverkleidung und Fußböden wurden beibehalten. Schöne Bleiglastür und Seitenteile wurden in Dallas entwickelt, um die viktorianische Thema passen. Dies hat nicht nur eine Erklärung über die Heimat, es macht auch nach einem charmanten Eingang in eine wundervolle geschlossene Veranda. Der perfekte Ort, um nach einem Tag Skifahren, Wandern, Radfahren oder Shopping in der Stadt zu entspannen.

GREAT LOCATION! STAYED 5 NIGHTS IN APRIL

This is the perfect place to stay in town for Crested Butte - walk to restaurants and shops surrounded by the beautiful mountains! This charming house had everything we needed from comfortable beds and seating to a very well stocked kitchen The town is so friendly and has some great restaurants! Wedding weekend

A great place to stay in Crested Butte. Super location - quiet block very near all town attractions. Comfortable beds and super well stocked kitchen. Upstairs main bedroom suite was great. We were in town for my son’s wedding and great backyard and deck served as a wonderful place to sit and visit with family who came in for wedding. We would love to stay here again when we return for another visit.

Location is excellent! Short walk to all the shops/restaurants. House is cute and eclectic. Stocked with all the things you might need. Price was great! For those looking to stay at this property - please note that that the bedroom with the bunk bed is extremely small... not much space to move around. The bunk bed is only suitable for very small children. Our 6-year old slept on the bottom bunk, but it was such a low clearance that she would hit her head when trying to sit up or get in/out of the bed. Additionally - the back door of the home is in this same bedroom - which I will admit, was a bit unsettling being that our children were sleeping in this room. All in all - a great stay! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Fourth of July-wedding

House was great and worked perfectly for our group. 80 year old grandma was able to get in and around using cane and walker. 1st floor bedroom was a perfect space for her which was our primary concern. Upstairs master worked well preparing for the wedding with multiple mirrors and space to spread out. Exterior deck with table and umbrella was utilized as a workspace prepping for the wedding reception. We enjoyed being outdoors while getting the work done.

Great location and quaint property

The best location to walk downtown Crested Butte and catch the shuttle. The property was perfect for my family of 5. It was cozy and warm and perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Thanksgiving Retreat

We drove from East Texas for a wonderful week with our family in Created Butte. Our son has a vacation home nearby, and we were able to have meals at both homes. There were 11 of us and several grand children would occasionally stay overnight. The house was perfect for us. The master bedroom was so nice and roomy. The 2 bedrooms downstairs were small and perfect. We had problems with the internet and the property management company (Mike) promptly came out the day before Thanksgiving and then he contacted Spectrum who’s service man - we think Steve - spent 3 hours Thanksgiving day and fixed the system. We were so grateful! The kitchen was small and well equipped. The house decor is charming. We will be back to stay in this property.

Convenient location, nice home

Our stay at Kate’s Place was nice. We enjoyed being one block from Elk Ave. and all the restaurants and shops. The house was clean and inviting, stocked with towels. Upon arrival we found out that there were numerous rules not mentioned in the listing (unable to open any window freely, leaving blinds a certain way, etc.) that may have been beneficial upfront since we really enjoy letting in the mountain air, though we lucked out with cooler weather. We were also surprised to find that the door to the primary bedroom upstairs was removed thus not allowing for much privacy. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Amazing stay in CB

Kate's Place was absolutely charming and convenient to EVERYTHING in CB. The listing photos undersell the back yard, which is truly lovely and peaceful! We loved that the house had a few camp chairs to use in the yard. We had a comfortable stay in the master suite upstairs - had the house been full, the lack of a door might have been a bigger deal, but it was just our son downstairs in the bunk room. The home had everything needed in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms for a comfortable stay. Beautiful natural light. The home stayed cool at night and during the day. We were grateful for the washer and dryer as we had lots of outdoor adventures - it might be helpful to note on the dryer unit that you need to use the time setting rather than the sensor setting. Kathy was great to communicate with and answered all of our questions promptly. We'd happily stay here again.

Great Location!

The house is well kept and in an amazing location, walkable to everything downtown Crested Butte. My only complaint is the primary bedroom upstairs doesn't have a door, so when people start talking downstairs, you can't sleep. We affectionally nicknamed our niece the rooster as a result of this. Beyond that, our stay was pure magic and the host was extremely responsive!

5 star if master bedroom had a door

Great place and the bathtub for two in the master would have been spectacular if there was a door for the master bedroom. I suggest you request that the master bedroom door gets installed before you arrive unless of course you don’t have guests or kids staying downstairs.

Now retired we get to enjoy CB even more and have learned that spring and fall are also special times and are busy exploring the area during these seasons too. We share some of our favorite places in the Guest Book waiting for you at the house.

We often visited Crested Butte to ski and loved the area. When we saw Kate's Place we fell in love again! The house is part of the history of CB and is all most 100 years old. Kate's Place is located one block off the main street of Elk Ave....walking distance to hiking, shopping, dinning and parks. Two blocks from the free shuttle bus to the mountain.

Great 4th of July parades, weekly music at the park and on the mountain. Food and wine events. Summer chair lift rides with or without your bike. Art shows and the weekly farmers market and art show are just a few of the events to keep you busy.
