Entspannen Sie sich vom Alltag in der vielleicht einzigartigsten Kabine in diesem Waldrand, die sich auf einer 1 Hektar großen privaten Halbinsel mit 170 Fuß Küstenlinie befindet.

Beginnen Sie Ihren Tag mit einem Kaffee am privaten Strand oder Pier, beobachten Sie die Adler, Otter, Kolibris und die ansässigen Seetaucher. Erkunden Sie die Wälder und kommunizieren Sie nach Herzenslust mit der Natur. Nach einem Tag des Schwimmens und Angelns sind die Strände rund um die Feuerstelle am Strand in Ordnung, während Sie den Mond über dem See stehen sehen. Und wenn es Zeit zum Abschalten ist, genießen Sie den Komfort von zu Hause, weit weg von zu Hause.

DP ist eine bescheidene, familienfreundliche Kabine, die bequem Platz für 7 Erwachsene bietet (zwei neue Kingsize-Betten im Jahr 2019, zwei vollwertige Betten und ein Futon). Sie bietet Platz für 8 Personen, wenn Sie sich wirklich mögen und die Etagen teilen. Für Ihr Baby steht ein Pack'n Play und für Ihr Kleinkind eine Bettstange zur Verfügung.

Ihre Welpen sind auch eine Familie, also sind sie willkommen, solange sie sich gut benehmen. Wir bitten um aktuelle Informationen zu Impfungen, Herzwurm und Floh- / Zecken-Präventivmitteln.

Alles, was Sie für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigen, ist vorhanden, einschließlich Spiele, Puzzles, Spielzeug, DVDs und Lesematerial für regnerische Unterhaltung. Kein WiFi oder Kabel (es ist immerhin Dekompressionspunkt), aber der Handyempfang ist gut.

Die Hütte liegt auf einer privaten 1+ Hektar großen Halbinsel am schönen Pickerel Lake. Der See ist 72 Hektar groß, 13 Meter tief und hat Panfish, Forellenbarsch, Hecht und Muskys. *** Dies ist ein No-Wake-See ***

Rhinelander, Merrill und Tomahawk eignen sich gut für Shopping und Unterhaltung. Besuchen Sie den Hodag! Die Kabine bietet direkten Zugang zu den ATV-Strecken in Harrison Hills.

Perfect family getaway

Everything a family could possibly need to relax in the Northwoods! This was our second visit and it feels like home. Having inside and outside toys and games available really helps to keep the trip light on packing and heavy on adventuring. Beautiful, fun getaway!

Just perfect!

This truly was a beautiful spot to stay! Amazing cabin with everything that you need. This was perfect for four adults and two children with room to spare. Our grandchildren couldn’t wait to stay at the “round house” and I have to admit it was better than we even expected! Enjoy all the outdoor activities such as swimming and non motorized boats, swing set, sand toys with perfect beach for little ones. Hosts were very easy to contact should you have any questions. Definitely would recommend!

Great Property

This place is a little slice of “Up North” heaven. The owners provide you with anything you need for a perfect family vacation. Don’t feel the need to overpack. They have thought of everything from the campfire to the kitchen to the towels, even toys and a playpen for babies. The property is well-maintained and secluded with a pier. Our little ones spent hours feeding fish from the pier, swimming and enjoying campfires. If you are looking to unplug and reconnect with nature and your family this is the place.

One amazing cabin

Of all the cabins we've stayed at, this was definitely our favorite as it had everything we were looking for. Private, beautiful, and had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the gazebo, beach area, taking out the rowboat, and fishing. Our 6 year old especially enjoyed the beach area, the toys, the scavenger hunt, all the children's movies, and reallly loved catching all the bluegills right from the dock! Hosts were very easy to work with and replied quickly. We could see their thoughtfulness throughout the cabin - really made us feel comfortable. What a wonderful place!

Wonderful Place

We loved it here - the location is perfect for privacy and truly feeling like you're getting away from it all. Spent the days kayaking, bird watching, and reading by the beautiful lake. The cabin had lots of amenities and character and is clearly well taken care of. We especially enjoyed the large movie collection at night! We hope to be back.

Perfect stay

We loved our time on vacation! House was outfitted with anything we could possibly need for kids, cooking, etc. The beds were comfy and our toddlers loved all the toys, books and DVDs. The sandy beach and adirondacks were heavenly for relaxing (not to mention the view and quiet!). We hope to be back soon and thanks to Kathy for all the quick communication:).

Wonderful getaway!

The listing is accurate! Decompression Point is the perfect name. Though the weather decided it wanted to rear its ugly head we enjoyed our stay. The home is aptly stocked with things to do, the wildlife out the windows and the views made for any time we couldn’t spend outdoors. The fishing was great, though we didn’t catch any impressive fish we did catch enough panfish for a little fish fry. The “locals” on the lake doing their daily/nightly jaunts were very friendly. We even saw a woman kayak with her cat! My daughter thought that was the coolest thing ever! We collected our fair share of “shells” from just off the dock. Its location is close enough to things to do outside the property. We loved our stay and are hoping to book another stay!

Mother and daughters time

We three sisters and our 94 year old mom spent a few wonderful day at Decompression Point. We soaked in the beautiful scenery, sat around the campfire and watched and listened to the loons. Summer vs Fall-all good

This is our second time staying here, the prior time being in late fall. Communication and ease of check-in is great. We were at the tail end of what probably was a busy summer stay at this property so some of the smaller items were close to needing to be replaced or repaired (some chairs/kayaks). This had no impact on our stay and I gave the owners a heads up. There was a new hammock that was used often and a beautiful screen room that was great, but the bugs weren't bad at all. The location is peaceful and what I truly appreciate is that this property sits on a peninsula, so you really feel like there is no one around. The property is easily traversed and the fire gazing by the water as you view the stars in the night sky brings back the memories of camping as a kid. We had a great stay, some great weather and for the novice fisherman there are tons of small blue gills right under the pier to keep the young fisherman happy and mom/dad busy.

Sweet visit

Everything was as described. Kathy made sure we were well informed about latest developments. In fact, communication was outstanding. Very quiet location with many endearing touches added by owners to provide a tranquil place to relax and meditate on things and enjoy the abundant nature around us. We had to leave a half day ahead of time because of family needs but would recommend this rental anytime. Very nice!

Wonderful weekend!

We had an amazing weekend stay at Decompression Point! We all loved swimming, attempting to fish, and paddling around the lake in the provided boats. The beds are comfortable, and we watched a movie from their vast collection each night. We didn't have cell reception, but it was nice to unplug for a few nights. And the neighbors seem very friendly that if we needed help in an emergency, we were sure there would be someone nearby to help out. We had one hot day (90+ degrees), and the a/c worked great. Other than that, the cabin was cool and we didn't need the a/c for the majority of our stay. Thank you for sharing your really fun home with us! We hope to return next summer!

A little bit of heaven!

This place was phenomenal! The owners had everything you could possibly need at your disposal, we were in awe at all the things available for use (in case you forgot to pack your own). The view from the abundance of windows was absolutely breathtaking “a little bit of heaven!” The best place to vacation! We want to return! While sitting outside having early morning coffee I was serenaded by the many birds in the area. We were treated to visits from many different birds at the feeders, it was entertaining and exciting to see who would show up at different times. From the minute we stepped through the door we felt at home. While checking out the rooms we kept saying “OMG, this is so nice!” The decor was as unique as the “round cabin!” We are so grateful to have found this vacation gem! Everything that was mentioned in the rental description was on point! Thank you for opening your unique round cabin for others to enjoy, our time spent there was nothing but wonderful!

This could be named Hummingbird Point!

We had a fantastic stay at Decompression Point! Wow, the hummingbirds!!! I filled the feeders twice during our week stay and they were cleaned out. A group of 9 hummingbirds made themselves at home and stayed from morning til night. It truly was spectacular. The property was perfectly private with space for the kids (and dog) to explore. We loved the distance from the cabin to the sandy beach and beautiful lake. Not a long walk or hundreds of stairs to walk down that you see at some cabins. On to the actual cabin! Clean, organized, nice sized bedrooms, fresh linens and towels. The owners forgot nothing! Great communication and zero problems. Perfect hosts and a perfect getaway. Also, I’d like to mention that we had no issues with neighbors. People were friendly passing in kayaks and pontoons. They even pointed out where to fish for bass. *Tip: bring lots of sugar and Wisconsin wood. Thank you again Dan and Kathy!

Perfect, cozy, loved.

From the moment we drove up, the kids were excited by the “Hodag Crossing” sign, then hopped out of the car to explore while my husband and I unpacked and their excitement grew with the “fairy tree” and swing set and the house with no corners! We enjoyed a quite first night watching a movie (with a beautiful view) and read a book about a very industrious squirrel before bed. The peddle boat was perfect for Exploring the lake with the kids. Clear water and sandy beach for swimming, fire pit on the shore, inside toys, outside toys, books, EVERYTHING you could possibly need, including wonderful, kind hosts. The best way I could describe it is that there are so many cabin rentals out there that are a flip and a quick buck for the owner, with amenities that check the boxes, Amazon decor, and no soul left to speak of. This is NOTHING LIKE THAT. The love and memories of this cabin run deep and you can feel it while you’re there. The toys, books, movies, decor, they’re all there because they brought joy to the family, not because they check the right number of boxes for amenities on a rental site. I am so grateful that the Shea family made the choice to share their beautiful cabin with us so we could make our own memories. Thank you!

Not a friendly neighbor!

The property was beautiful and well maintained but we were not made to feel very welcome. The lake was much smaller than I expected and was classified as a no wake lake. Basically you could only run your boat at the lowest speed possible. I have a 50 year old boat and a 35 year old motor so I did not go there to tear up the lake. We just like to fish as a family together. On our first night a neighbor knocked on the door and told us that many area neighbors were complaining that we were driving the boat too fast on the lake and were not following the no wake rule. He told us that if it happened again he would contact the local sheriff and have us fined and placed in big trouble. There are better ways to talk to someone than to threaten them by calling the sheriff. We did not even know the lake was a no wake lake, we had only been on the lake one time with a 35 year old 35 hp motor with 4 daughters, my disabled wife and I in the boat. How fast could I have been going? It was very slow. The neighbor could have stopped over and politely said this was a no wake lake and I saw you moving a little too fast. This is the polite way to talk to someone, instead he choose to complain and threaten to call the sheriff and in his words "Get us in big trouble. " it was obvious to me and my wife we were not welcomed. We took our boat off the lake the next morning and took it to a different lake. We never went back on the water after the first day and in fact left the cabin each morning and only returned later each night to just sleep there. The owners and cabin are top notch. Only complaint about the cabin was half the bedding was missing. But the lake and neighbor was a big disappointment.
