Disappointed and departed
We arrived at this house and upon entry noticed a musty smell. We then found the refrigerator/freezer unplugged and moved to the middle of the kitchen with the doors open and the ice maker partially assembled. We called Adele and she explained why this occurred. We put the refrigerator/freezer together and opened many of the windows to air out the musty smell. We then departed to get dinner.
We also NOTED there is a tenant in the basement of the house that is not stated in the ad. He has a patio that is beside the windows on the kitchen side of the house. His access to the basement and the patio is on that side of the house.
We returned. The tenant in the basement, or someone had been smoking outside and the smoke was in the house. Therefore, we attempted to close the windows and found that some did not close. We had noted that a number of windows were not closed/latched when we opened them. We closed one of the windows in the master bedroom and it fell outwards. I went outside to push it in as my wife closed the mechanism from the inside. It closed somewhat but not latched. Another in one of the bedrooms would not close to the latched position. I went outside to try to assist, but it would not work.
I texted Adele that the house was not suitable for habitation and we were departing to try and find a hotel. She asked me to meet her at the house. I did, and showed her the various problems with the house as I described. We departed and rented an overpriced last-minute hotel room.
