Das Thornton Cottage befindet sich auf Jekyll Island, Ga. Dieses Haus schläft siebzehn in Betten und hat auch sieben Badezimmer. Es gibt einen großen Wohn- / Ess- / Küchenbereich mit viel Platz für Familie und Unterhaltung. Es gibt eine Terrasse im hinteren Teil des Hauses mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten für die ganze Familie. Dieser Bereich ist gut zum Kochen, Entspannen, Lesen, Cocktails am Nachmittag, beobachten Sie die Kinder spielen oder einfach nur entspannen und den Wellen lauschen. Das Thornton Cottage ist sicher ein beliebtes Ziel für Ihre Familie.

Beautiful setting

The property was very nice. Management team worked hard to make sure backyard was cleaned up which it was once we checked in everything was great. Only negatives were the bath towels were very small and old. One of the AC units struggle to keep up with the temperature. A few of the breakers would pop off from time to time. Would definitely stay here again though room spaces were great. Backyard is amazing.

Our New Favorite Jekyll Island House

We met a bunch of family here for a long weekend, and it was really the perfect house for a big group. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, the huge gathering space was great for everyone to hang out, the heated pool was perfect for chilly evenings, and the location right at a walkway made getting to the beach easy. Overall perfect experience!

Making memories

We had our honeymoon on Jekyll. Retuned this year to celebrate our 40th with our 2 daughters and their families.Lots of room, neat layout, sunroom with ocean view, heated pool. Grandkids loved it! Perfect for our needs.

A nice stay for a long weekend!

Property was adequate for our stay. It’s very hard to find larger homes in Jekyll and one that was on the ocean with a small pool was very convenient so we could be together. The kitchen was open on the right as you walked in. Good variety of items, well stocked. The floors are all painted cement. Which works well keeping feet cool in the summer and clean up easy! If you like

Home large and big for a crowd

It was fine for our family of 11 but needs some serious renovation. Everyone had their own bedroom which was lovely. Bathrooms were clean and as described. . House is more camp style with beautiful ocean views and yard. The only problem we had was that the fire alarms went off in the middle of the night. We called the management company to check on this and they never returned our call.

Amazing home with room for our family. Perfect location. Is beautiful, even in the dark. We had a wedding weekend during the hurricane and felt safe and happy even without power and phones.

Beach stay

The size of the home was great for our group and the location was great. I would rent this again, however I would like to point out that an umbrella for the patio would be nice for what we paid and the internet was spotty particularly in the afternoon. This was a problem for a remote working professional in our family.

Perfect location

The location was perfect! The layout worked well for our 3 families, plenty of beds, unfortunately they were very uncomfortable. The house was surfaced cleaned but could use a good deep cleaning. The house is not stocked with supplies so just prepare to shop on the way in and pick up necessities.

Perfect for our needs

The home was perfectly arranged for our needs. We do wish and feel we should have been told that there would be an extra charge to have heat turned on in order to use pool in December. The coffee maker didn’t work right but we had one for the next day of our stay. The table was sticky but it was NOT from not being clean but from the type finish. We definitely recommend this place and would use again should we return.

Great space and location

Wonderful location for a wedding that took place on Jekyl Island. We had 13 adults! Great vibe and separate bedroom wings. Nice pool and a gas grill too. The only issue is the pillows need updating and the host needs to supply a few more towels so we can wash a set. The host communicated appropriately. The description is accurate!

Family vaca

This house was spacious & split well for our group of 16. The pool was perfect entertainment for the kids & warm as requested. The sun room was nice extra space for puzzles/games & for those who needed to get laptop work done away from the noise. There were enough towels & dishes although we brought extra dish towels & kitchen favorites to use. Bring bug spray because the no-see-ums were active during our stay in mid November. I’d recommend this place to others! Thanks for opening it to guests.

Awesome place for central entertaining with bedrooms and baths on wings. pool was nice, but please make it clear on VRBO that heating it is adtl $50/day! Beach access is right out back, but the tides do make seeing the sand very rare. Other beach spots with higher elevation are very close by though.

Enjoyed our stay. Nice house, but needed a few things.

Overall, the house was nice. A few cleanliness issues, ants by the pool, etc. but the management (Wanda & Benji) were super easy to talk to and they came out and took care of everything right away. The house was big & had enough bedrooms for all of us to have our own. Loved the sun porch. However, in the one bathroom, there are very sheer curtains across from the fully glassed in shower. We had to put beach towels over the windows for privacy. Not many lounge chairs by the pool, but they did provide all linens and also beach towels. The pool was small, but we did not get to use it as we were not told we needed to pay extra to heat the pool ($200/week).The listing just stated it had a "heated pool". We were also not told that the whole island is a state park-so there is a daily fee of $10 just to be on the island. So that added to our cost. We went through VRBO and apparently that listing is lacking in detail. We were told that if you go through the company that manages the rental (GA Beach Rentals) this information is given to you. I feel this is really no excuse for the lack of information on VRBO. This listing needs to have ALL the information available. So those items need to be added so renters know there are extra costs. As in previous reviews, there is not much beach, but you can take short walks during low tide. Relaxing on the beach was a no-go, but you can drive a bit down the road to one of the public beach areas. All in all, we did have a great time.

Myself, my husband, and our bridal party stayed in the house for our wedding weekend. We got married at Driftwood Beach, celebrated at Tortuga Jacks, and had a beautiful, cleanly, open, fully equipped home-base for it all. We will definitely be back!

Group bike ride!

We had a house full of mature adults that came to ride the bike trails. We biked 60 miles over 3 days, cooked our meals in the spacious kitchen, and had a great time!

Family Get-away

We love Jekyll Island and always look forward to family fun at the beach. This property was perfect for our needs and could easily have accommodated another family. We will definitely take a look at it again, especially if we need more space. It was the end of the season, so the towels were pretty dingy and needed to be replaced. It would be helpful to have dish towels and cloths, but we loved having so many dishes, pots and pans, etc. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Everyone wanted 1 more week!

This home was perfect for our family. So hard to say what we enjoyed most: -hearing the ocean from the patio - the sun room was a hit - dining room table large enough for all 11 of us - having multiple water heaters, HVAC systems -family game nights -games and jigsaw puzzles provided - was concerned we may run out of gas for the grill, not to worry a second tank arrived immediately (we ended up not needing it) thank you for the rapid response Only recommendation would change bathroom windows to frosted glass or add blinds. I hung beach towel to cover the shear curtains - private pool Wonderful
