Perfekter Urlaubsaufenthalt

Wir haben wunderschöne Tage verbracht. Die Ferienwohnung liegt direkt am Wasser. Es ist absolut ruhig und erholsam. Man hat einen phantastischen Blick auf das Sooke Basin und kann Vögel, Rehe und Eichhörnchen beobachten. Von dort aus ist man schnell in Victoria. Von dort oder auch von Sooke aus kann man eine Whale Watching Tour machen. Von Sooke aus werden Angeltouren (Lachs u.a.) angeboten. Es gibt viel zu erleben. Am tollsten sind aber die Gastgeber. Scott stand jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Er ist mit unseren Jungs zum Krebsfischen gegangen, hat uns gezeigt, wie man Lachs filetiert, uns mit tollen Tips versorgt. Kurz es war für uns ein Urlaubszuhause. Wärmstens zu empfehlen!

Slice of Heaven

We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights at Sea Side Cove. The house was beautiful and comfortable, with everything we needed -- all in a setting of trees and abundant flowers, overlooking Sooke basin. The location was great, with access to restaurants, breweries, and other local attractions, and about a 45-minute drive to Victoria. We have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and Scott stands out as a host. He made sure we had everything we needed, including information about the area. His friendliness and graciousness were part of why we enjoyed this place so much and will likely be back.

What an incredible place with a great host!

When I arrived, the location and view were beyond what I imagined. To be able to watch the change of light and weather over the water was beautiful. The rental was so thoughtfully appointed that I had everything I needed. East Sooke is the perfect location as a home base to explore the beaches and trails and really, of all the parks I went into up the west part of the island, the East Sooke Park with it’s Coast Trail ( in different sections) was as spectacular as any of the rest and just down the road. Scott was so pleasant and offered great information about the area and happenings. He was also available and generous with his time, helping me navigate some communication challenges. Equally, Scoot was respectful of my space and this stay really became almost a personal retreat for me. Great local massage therapist as well. I highly recommend and would defiantly stay here again. Thanks Scott!

What an amazing place Scott has. The views are stunning! The yard is perfect and nothing gets you closer to the ocean than this piece of heaven. Tranquil Beauty in Eastern Sooke

Seaside Cove was the perfect hide-away for us and our teenage son who enjoyed his privacy in the upstairs unit. Both units are extremely well appointed, taste- and thoughtfully decorated and highly functional (great beds, bathrooms and laundry room). The absolute highlights are the deck and backyard with a glorious view of the gorgeous Sooke Basin, which one can enjoy from almost everywhere in the unit. The location is great for hiking and kayaking-- one can even have a kayak delivered to the property by one of the local outfits. The owner, Scott, lives right above the apartment: He was extremely respectful of our privacy (we almost never saw him around), but he was always available through text, offering useful and knowledgable local advice-- the perfect set-up for us; we would LOVE to return!

We found love in the seaside cove

What an absolute vibe from the second we arrived to the emotional departure. the views in east sooke were exactly what we wanted and it’s truly natures gallery… the only regret we had was not staying longer (and going to bustling Victoria after living here in tranquility for a week). All of Scott’s recommendations are spot on and he’s the best host. Do yourself a favor and book it and have a couple ice cream sandwiches on us.

Amazing Family Getaway

My husband and I stayed 5 days with our teenage sons. What an amazing and relaxing time we had. The home is stunning, very comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need. We started each day with coffee overlooking the ocean, explored the ocean, fished and went crabbing. We brought our kayaks which was fantastic as the bay was quite calm. We barbecued on the deck, played catch in the back yard and enjoyed wine while watching the sunsets. Thank you Scott for your graciousness and kindness during our stay! We will definitely come back! Wonderful stay in East Sooke

This house had everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation in a beautiful, natural setting. Scott was an excellent host who made recommendations and helped us out when we needed him. He lives in an adjacent unit (separate entrance) but we rarely saw or heard him. He was available by text for any questions. We selected this property because of the photos and reviews and we were not disappointed. Having now seen the Victoria/Sooke/Shirley area, I can say that this is one of the best views and was the perfect home base for all our activities which included cycling, ziplining, hiking, and a boat tour. Every day we were glued to binoculars looking to spot marine life off the back porch (and we did!). I wish we could've stayed longer and we hope to return.

We relocated to Sooke 7 years ago after living in Costa Rica where we built and ran Villa Mariana, a high end, luxury vacation rental home in the jungle of Manuel Antonio.

We were looking for a home by the ocean that was slightly off the beaten path but still close enough to enjoy a Great Restaurant or a day of shopping.

Living at Seaside Cove feels like living in a watercolor painting, with the ocean view providing a pallet for an evolving landscape, of mountains, trees, wildlife ,and colors.
We have always loved nature and have spent many years in Costa Rica rescuing and rehabilitating everything from dogs and cats to sloths, coatimundis, even the occasional boa constrictor.

We value our creature comforts and offer our guests the same high standard of quality and detail that we enjoy in our home.

We enjoy hiking with our Dogs, taking an evening kayak or checking the crab pots for fresh Dungeness. Our favorite time is spending a warm afternoon picking berries, baking artisan bread and creating organic meals with ingredients from our garden.

Every effort is made to ensure our guests have their privacy and at the same time we are happy to make suggestions as to what to see and do during your stay.
