Think twice about using this Vrbo property rental.
We booked our stay for Friday, 09/20 through Saturday, 09/28. Upon arrival, the house was not clean. The floors and bathrooms were dirty and no sheets on the beds, along with no bathroom towels! Reaching out to the owner with no reply, we reached out to Vrbo. The representative reached out to the owner, with no reply. We reached out to the laundry service company “Seaside Linens”. The owner stated he would personally drive out fresh linens and towels. We bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the house to feel comfortable staying the night. Once the bed linens and towels were delivered, we made the beds up, cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed the floors. The owner responded he was surprised the house was rented for a Friday arrival, as Vrbo should not have allowed this. He said the cleaning company would be out Saturday afternoon. The owner apologized for the house not being ready and he would refund us for one day. This seemed fair and we accepted his offer. Arriving home we reached out to the owner about our refund status. He was impacted by Hurricane Helene and unable to reply. We appreciated him getting back and verified he was safe. He stated he would get our refund sent through Vrbo. After a week and not receiving our refund, we reached out again. He was unable to refund through Vrbo and requested our Zelle information to send the refund money. As of 10/26, we have not received the refund and have not received a response on status. We will not be using Vrbo again.
