Cosy and stylish cottage in Thornhill

A secluded, self-catering garden annexe close to the town centre yet quietly tucked away behind the main house, you'll find everything you need for a perfect stay.
The kitchen has a fridge, a hob, an oven, a kettle, toaster and microwave.
The house is a perfect place to relax and offers a television and internet access.


There is one bedroom in this house which contains a double bed and a sofa-bed in the spacious living room.


There is one bathroom, which has a toilet and sink and a walk-in shower.


Linen and towels are included.

The cottage shares a garden with the main house - French windows lead onto a terrace with a table and chairs perfect for that sundowner! There is no washing machine, but the host will run a load for you on request for a small charge. You are welcome to use the rotary washing line to dry your washing.  

The cottage is self-contained but adjoins the host’s house and at some times in the year is use as family accommodation. The cottage has many personal objects, books (which you are welcome to read) and paintings, so it is a real home from home and by renting as a holiday let, we are not taking housing stock from the local community.

Thornhill is a lively village with everything you need just a minute’s walk away: local pubs, restaurants and cafes, fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, a local butcher, small supermarkets, pharmacy, an independent bookshop, gift shops and a whisky emporium! Within easy reach are Drumlanrig Castle, Morton Castle, Cample Line Art Gallery, the Crawick Multiverse (landscape sculpture park)and many local walks in beautiful landscape.  A bit further afield, the Solway Coast, Galloway Forest, the Lead Mining Museum and The Forest of Ae.   

House Rules:
- Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 11am.  Smoking is not allowed. There is free parking in front of the house.
Pets by arrangement and subject to careful introductions. There are a cat and a dog resident in the main house (please note for allergies).
