Experience an authentic Lakeland escape with a stay in this unique and interesting house, a property that accommodates seven guests and offers ample comfortable features along with stunning surrounding scenery. The property is around 1 mile from the banks of Lake Windermere, making it an effortless choice for walks, bike rides, and boat trips on the water. Both Bowness (2 miles) and Windermere (3.5 miles) are within reach, each offering pubs, shops, and restaurants with that indescribable Lake District atmosphere. Set out on peaceful hikes up Brant Fell (2 miles), Claife Heights (3.5 miles), or The Old Man of Coniston (12.5 miles), or admire the tranquil scenery around Coniston Water (9 miles). Close by, Grizedale Forest (8.5 miles) offers forest trails, towering trees, and a Go Ape course. In the opposite direction, spend time in the market town of Kendal (9.5 miles) and sample its famous mint cake.
The original period features of this 400-year-old property have been lovingly maintained throughout, including its unique wood-panelled walls. Enter through the main door into the porch, where you can leave muddy walking boots behind. Move through into the lounge, a perfect destination for relaxing, with ample seating, a Smart TV, and a warming wood burner set in a feature fireplace. Another feature fireplace can be found in the dining room next door, a separate space ideal for raising a glass over a celebratory meal. The kitchen offers plenty of space and is thoroughly equipped for a self-catering holiday. Take the sloped, characterful wooden stairs up to the first floor to reach the property’s bedrooms. The master bedroom is king-size with a four-poster bed. There is also a double bedroom and a triple room with three single beds, all providing restful nights of uninterrupted sleep. There are two bathrooms in this property: one en-suite with a walk-in shower, and a family bathroom with a bath and shower over.
