This is a fantastic base for those looking to explore the area as the village has a pub, restaurant, shop/Post Office, children’s play area and a church set in an elevated position. There are a number of attractions available in the nearby area including taking a ride on one of the lovingly-restored steam and diesel engines through the beautiful scenery of the South Tyne valley on the South Tynedale Railway. The River Tyne is also noted as one of the finest salmon rivers in England and day-ticket fishing is available locally.
