Between Sandy Beaches and Rugged Moorland, ideal for Sand Castles and Walks!
Our mid-terrace Cottage in Tregoodwell Square is just a short 12 minute drive to the wonderful North Cornish coast and only 5 minutes to Bodmin Moor. It is located in the quiet hamlet of Tregoodwell, within walking distance of the historic Market Town of Camelford with its full range of shops and amenities. The cottage can accommodate six persons in three bedrooms and is ideal for those who enjoy beaches, sweeping views and walking. Full Central Heating and WiFi.
You may park outside the cottage or anywhere in the square. Although there are no "rights" (the square is common land) you can reasonably expect space to be left for you in front of the cottage.
Downstairs the fully equipped modern KITCHEN / DINING ROOM has a Wood Burner fire with views across the square and over the rear garden. Read the paper on the sofa or watch the wall mounted TV. There is a small study table for your computer and a storage unit beside it.
Across the hallway the snug SITTING ROOM has an open fire and smart TV and some interesting books to read. At the end of the hall is the UTILITY ROOM which houses the central heating boiler with a Fridge/Freezer and Washing Machine. The cottage has full central heating with radiators in all rooms and the hall.
The three BEDROOMS are upstairs with the Double and Twin Room sharing the modern Family Bathroom with large bath and shower over. The Master Bedroom, with a wardrobe and dressing table with drawers has an en suite shower room with hand basin and toilet. The Double Room has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The Twin Room also has a chest of drawers and a clothes rail.
All rooms have double glazed windows which together with central heating and the fires ensures that you will always be warm!
OUTSIDE, the sun-trap Patio has a table and benches for al fresco eating and steps lead up to the good sized, enclosed rear garden. You are welcome to bring your own barbeque, but please do not damage the furniture or grass. A request, if you bring a dog please make sure that you clean up completely.
There is so much to see and do NEARBY. Trebarwith Strand and Tregardock beaches are dramatic with extensive sands and are dog friendly. The Strand has a very nice cafe and the Port William pub. Polzeath for surfers and Daymer Bay are also much enjoyed.
Tintagel Island with the 13th century Castle and beautiful cantilevered bridge is a must see. Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow are all within easy reach. It is great fun to get the ferry to Padstow from Rock, across the Camel Estuary. Relatively unknown gems include Crackington Haven to the north with a cafe we love, Lundy Bay and Port Gaverne's excellent pub to the south just by Port Isaac.
Other eating places include Boscastle Farm Shop, Tintagel Brewery, Sea View Farm, on the road to Port Isaac and the Mason's Arms in Camelford. There are many more!
WALKERS are spoilt for choice.
From the front door there is a lovely walk to Advent Church and returning along the River Camel allow under two hours.
On the Coastal Path you can park by the "Snail" church at Tintagel, walk to Trebarwith Strand for lunch and back again, Port Quin towards Lundy Bay is dramatic and further south is Pentire Head, the northern entrance to the Camel Estuary.
To the east is Bodmin Moor. A five minute drive to the car park at the end of Rough Tor Road and you are facing Rough Tor itself, the dramatic long extinct volcano. Give yourself an hour to walk to the top and back. But absorb the views across Cornwall before returning and don't let the mist come down!
Further afield, the Eden Project, the delightful port town of Fowey and Newquay for instance, are all within a day trip and some guests have been to Lands End. National Trust houses and gardens and English Heritage castles abound.
CYCLISTS can take the route from the front door skirting the moor to St Brewards for lunch before returning home. If you don't bring bikes, you can hire them at Wadebridge and take the 6 mile cycle path to Padstow beside the Camel.
