Superb duplex in prime area of London
Summary:
A charming and well-appointed two bedroomed maisonette offering spacious accommodation.
The Space:
The space is spread over two floors. Floor plan is provided in the photos.
The Neighborhood:
Holland Park is a beautiful, upscale area of Kensington on the western edge of Central London. Holland Park contains a street and public park of the same name. Has great local shops and a village feel as it is calmer than the rush of Central London although it still has everything you need and want around you. It’s east to get anywhere thanks to having most tube lines and bus lines around. Adjacent districts are Notting Hill to the north, Earl's Court to the south, and Shepherd's Bush to the northwest.
Westfields is the largest shopping centre in West London with over 375 shops inside including designer/high street shops, a cinema and restaurants and family fun such as KidZania for a rainy day. A 5-minute taxi/drive or 12-minute walk, alternatively you can jump on most buses via Holland Park Avenue (e.g. 228 towards Park Hill).
Notting Hill has iconic pastel-coloured houses and Portobello Road (a 13-minute walk from the property) which is most famous for having one of the world's largest antique, bric-a-brac and vintage clothing markets. It's a location that attracts tourists, locals and celebrities from all walks of life where you can also enjoy the food market on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Also close by at 280 Westbourne Park Road is the famous blue door from the movie Notting Hill and the famous book shop from the movie is on 13 Blenheim Crescent.
Well-to-do shoppers have antique stores on Kensington Church Street and can frequent chic boutiques on Kensington High Street. Which is a 10-minute taxi/drive, 25-minute walk via the public park where you will come out of the park onto High Street Kensington next to The Design Museum. Holland Park has a massive woodland area home to all sorts of wildlife and wildflowers, to a Japanese zen garden, a waterfall and picturesque flower gardens, it’s easy to see why Holland Park is considered as one of London’s best kept secrets.
You can take a stroll up Holland Park Avenue the beautiful tree lined street past Notting Hill Gate to Kensington Palace Gardens which connects to Hyde Park. You can rent a Boris Bicycle to get around through the park which is next to Bayswater the entrance for you or walk through it to High Street Kensington. Close to the famous Royal Albert Hall.
The famous Natural History Museum and Science Museum are just a 12 minute taxi/drive or 20 minute train from either Holland Park station or Notting Hill Gate Station.
Getting Around:
Holland Park Station (Central Line) is a 5-minute walk or 2-minute drive.
Notting Hill Gate Station (District, Central and Circle Line) is a 15-minute walk via Holland Park Avenue/or one stop on the train from Holland Park Station or 4-minute drive.
Shepherds Bush Station (Central Line or London Overground) is a 11-minute walk via Saint James Gardens or 4-minute drive.
There are plenty of buses to all stations from Holland Park Avenue towards Bayswater, Queensway or Edgware Road or Marble Arch or Soho or Mayfair. Alternatively, the Central line train is good too.
High Street Kensington (District and Circle Line) is a 25-minute walk via the park, Holland Park or 10-minute taxi or train from Notting Hill Gate.
Oxford Street and Mayfair are a 25-30 minutes’ drive or 20 minutes via train.
Alternatively, for Taxis you can use the Uber App or Free App for British Taxis. Or rent some Boris bicycles with a bank card close by.
We recommend using the TFL (Transport for London) website and getting a tube map from Holland Park Station or online.
