Milestone House, Aldeburgh
This family friendly house with a fully enclosed garden is in a great location just a 15-minute walk from the beach and heart of the picturesque town of Aldeburgh. Interiors are light and airy with a living room, dining room, utility, cloakroom, and well-equipped kitchen on the ground floor and, on the first floor, a king, double and twin beds with the family bathroom.
You’re welcomed into a lobby with space to leave footwear before going into the hall where you’ll find doors to the living room, dining room, cloakroom, and kitchen. Steep carpeted stairs with a handrail rise to the first-floor landing.
LIVING ROOM
This double aspect room catches the sun throughout the day and has a coal effect gas fire to keep you cosy in winter months. There’s a couple of sofas, an armchair, occasional tables, and a TV unit with a DVD player, a Wii and a good selection of Wii games to enjoy as well as your preferred TV programmes.
DINING ROOM
A sunny south facing room furnished with a table and six chairs. Shelves are stacked with books and games to keep you entertained.
KITCHEN
Ideal for catering at home, this well-equipped kitchen has units housing a Smeg dual fuel double oven, a Daewoo American style Fridge/Freezer, a dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, kettle and toaster. There’s a poser table with a couple of chairs so you can sit with a GandT whilst chatting to the chef!
UTILITY ROOM
A door opens to the side of the house as well as from the kitchen, so you can come in with sandy feet and beach gear. There’s a washing machine and a dryer, plus extra storage space, a hammock for some relaxation or a table tennis set for a bit of exercise.
CLOAKROOM
Simply with a WC and wash basin.
FIRST FLOOR
Bedrooms and the landing are carpeted, and the bathroom has a tiled floor.
KING BEDROOM
A lovely light room with windows to the front and back of the house. The king size bed sits between bedside drawer units and there’s amply storage with a wardrobe and chest of drawers, plus a chair and an ornamental fireplace.
DOUBLE BEDROOM
This south facing room has a double bed, bedside units, an ornamental fireplace, a blanket chest, a chair, and wardrobe with shelving, hanging and drawer space.
BUNK BEDROOM
Sitting quietly at the back of the house, this room has two sets of full-sized bunk beds here so four children can sleep here and, in fact, one of the bottom bunks is actually a small double so suitable for an adult. However the capacity for the house is six due to the space on the ground floor. The room also has a chair, a couple of small drawers, and a dressing table with a stool which could easily double up as a desk if guests need to work from home.
BATHROOM
A good sized room conveniently located for guests in all three bedrooms. The lovely big claw foot bath invites you to relax at the end of a busy day and there’s a large shower cubicle with an electric hand-held shower, two wash basins, a WC, natural light and a towel rail.
Bath hand towels will be supplied for all guests.
OUTSIDE
Milestone House is set back from Saxmundham Road with a parking bay for two cars and steps up to the front garden where there’s a bench sitting in the sunshine. This is a great location, just a 15-minute walk to the beach and the town centre with its independent shops, restaurants, cinema and galleries to enjoy. There’s a path to the back of this detached holiday house so you could wheel bikes around to store them here. The back garden is fully enclosed, mostly laid to lawn with a picnic bench for you to enjoy dining in the sea air in the summer months.
A maximum of two dogs are allowed to stay, however they must not be left on their own and are not allowed upstairs or on furniture. Please be sure to clean up any mess after them.
